If you have a DDR5 motherboard, make sure that the RAM sticks you have are on the QVL (approved RAM) list for your motherboard! Or you may run into some instability. For all DDR4 setups, I would highly recommend enabling it so you can get the most out of your RAM sticks! In this case, I went from 2667mhz to 3600mhz, so the PC will run faster.
    Thanks for your support!

Thanks for adding this. A few weeks ago i built a new pc with ddr5 and when i activated EXPO (the amd version of XMP for everyone who doesnt know) and i instantly noticed performance and stability issues. Also my boot time went from 13 seconds to 1 1/2 minutes. If you are having issues like that go back into bios and disable it. If it takes waaaay to long to even get into bios you can disconnect your pc from the outlet and take out the cmos battery to reset your bios to default settings

Word of advice. Make sure not only your mainboard supports your ram frequency but also your CPU memory controller. Take it from someone who has had system instability issues for 8 years due to overlooking that the CPU could not stably run the XMP frequencies of my RAM. Once I turned off XMP the ram frequency went back to a supported one and now the system is stable for the first time ever!

I had the same issues, I just overclock the CPU and GPU, no point in turning on XMP and overclocking my ram for minimal performance increase at the cost of stability. If it that's important I'd just buy more ram/faster frequency ram, especially since it's so cheap nowadays.

you dont have to enable xmp, it increases performance but can reduce life span of your computer. Unless you are gonna run high end apps like games that need big amounts of fast ram then enabling it would be a good option

In fact the xmp profile for my PC was enabled to a profile that caused my PC to crash due to the oc.

None of this is necessary and it's silly if you care to enable xmp for performance, then go with bloatware like windows.
It's like putting a supercharger in your Honda 2000, and then throwing 10 45lb plates in the trunk for stability.

Not really, once you watch some videos you'll get an idea of what to do. I built mine recently and I have to say, it was pretty straight forward. Getting your PC setup after installing all of the parts can be tricky though

Nope, but they do take a lot of research in understanding what is compatible. There are lots of resources online to help. Best way to learn is to watch build video tutorials.

They are pretty self explanatory, you just lock your parts into place in the motherboard. Don’t stress over putting in your graphics card, it’s easier than you think.

hardest part is connecting the case's front panel to the mobo.

I helped a co-worker build his pc, and he had already set the ram, and some other stuff, just needed help with fans, hard drives, and water cooler. Also helped him with setting up windows and drivers, programs, etc. I couldn't get past the windows half way install, turns out he had 2 different types of ram speeds...wasted like an hour or more.

To be fair, XMP can cause blue screens on some games and even some normal softwares so, better letting it off until you really need it.

Funny thing with me building my PC, is a did everything perfectly, got all the correct parts, all the updates, setups and drivers all good, and it kept killing the power to avoid overheating…turns out its cause I put the fans on the wrong way and they were blowing all the air into the case and not out of it 💀

Though it IS recommended that when you build a new PC to leave XMP off while you install windows, and set it up.. once it's ready, then enable XMP since in some cases XMP can cause issues when installing an OS since it's considered an overclock.

People, if you're using windows also make sure you turn off windows fast boot.
The fast boot feature makes it so the PC will never actually fully shut down, this can cause problems with certain drivers and programs, it could also slow down your pc.
I did this on all windows machines I have had my hands on. I found that turning it off will cost 7 seconds on avarage in boot times.
