  • Are you having problems tattooing lines?? In todays tattoo tutorial we will be going over how to tattoo clean lines in fake skin. We will start by discussing how to keep mute some of the vibrations you get when tattooing fake skin on a table. We will then zoom in and take a look at several examples of light lines, vs saturated lines and how to achieve the proper saturation. We will be achieving this by working to get our voltage and hand speed in unison. It's important to make sure your hand speed isn't to fast or to slow in for your voltage. Lastly we will discuss depth, as you may have your voltage and hand speed correct but if you depth is to shallow then you will continue to get incorrect results. I hope that by the end of the video you feel a bit more confident in making nice lines in fake skin. This process can be translated to real skin as well.
    Hope you all enjoyed the video and if you did give it up a thumbs up and consider subscribing!!

    I recently started tattooing after practicing on fruits, fake skin and even a pork shoulder. Your videos have made all the difference in the world for me. I’m disabled (paralyzed waist down) and was having trouble using a conventional power supply, then I saw your review in one of the pens and it changed the game for me! No need to push a pedal for a person who can’t move his foot is a life changer! I’ve watched most of your videos and keep coming back every time I hit a snag. Keep up the amazing work

      There's some power supplies that bypass the foot pedal and just stay on the whole time like the battery pack. I got a mast dragon hawk machine on amazon for 100 bucks and if u hold the power supply power button and it stays on. Can't afford a good wireless machine

      How do you practice on this skin?!! It’s TERRIBLE! I’ve tried 3 different kinds and they all suck. They don’t hold ink, I gotta press hard and go over the entire thing twice. Also trying to make straight lines and even make circles is a pain in the ass with this skin. It’s too rough. I’m very new to tattooing and this stage is very discouraging. I’m not going to give up but how can I get better when the skin is not helping?

    Wrap the fake skin around a roll of paper towel and tattoo on there. I find a few benefits from doing that. I don’t damage my tattoo machine by potentially going too deep and on to a hard surface. Also the roll of paper towel somewhat imitates the curves of a limb and its a better simulation than tattooing something flat. That’s how I did it.

    Your videos are really informative and helpful to those struggling with line work. One of the things I picked up on is the type of needle cartridges you buy. For a long time I thought it didn’t matter what equipment you use to tattoo with. I was wrong. I takes quality needles to be able to pull clean lines ,like Kwadron needles. That’s all I use. The needle stays put when you pull the lines, unlike other high end needles there’s no wobble,so your not fighting to put in clean lines. Thanks for the great videos

    I'm really enjoying your channel and your podcast! I brought original work in for my artist to tattoo it on my back and he's convinced me that I need to be tattooing lol. So I'm doing my homework and absorbing all the info I can. You have a great easy to understand way of explaining processes and ideas and I'm always excited when you put new content out! I still need all my supplies to get started practicing, but I just got my fake skin 😁

    Great video man, can't wait for the Stretching Tutorial, I notice when I practise on areas like the inner thigh, or any area similar skin wise, I have trouble getting a consistent line which I've been told is likely due to not stretching correctly, so yea, clarification on this would be great! Keep up the great work

    Thank you so much for this!!!
    I had watched it a few monts ago, when I was practicing on fake skin, and now that I tattoo humans (my lovely and supportive friends and relatives) I can apreciate the précision and richness of info you give us here!
    Now, the problem is:I get pretty décent lines and lovely blended colors when I tattoo someonelse, but the two attempts I have made at tattoing myself turned out into Jack the Ripper tattooing. I LITTERALLY DID À DAMN SCARIFICATION of my leg ! Took 3 weeks to heal, it looks good from a distance,it was à draw I did myself and so I am happy. But it is packed with inconsistencies, blow outs and différent saturation in lines. I am someone with à thick skin and very high pain tolérance, so I decided to do a second attempt on the other leg,TRYING not to repeat the same shit. So, I reduced needle throw, stretched the skin properly and took my time. Well, línes are crispy and Nice, but my attempt to use à round shader to pack color (Light Green) makes my calf look like a buffalo wing. LITTERALLY hoping I am not getting a nasty scar there.
    Anyways, just sharing my story so that nobody looses motivation ! Love from Spain!

Also the fact that you let us know that tattooing fake skin is actually a little harder than real skin is actually great information because tattooing fake skin is a bit frustrating at first specially with the ink stains but you also gave us tips on how to clean the fake skin. Thanks again I hope you see this message and know you are really appreciate it.

    Great job explaining things! You mentioned a video on stretching. I will stretch significantly and yet I notice the machine isnt hitting and I tear the skin a bit more than I would like. I got the Bishop wand which hits amazing and that doesnt happen as much. But sometimes. I noticed that if I dont wash out my needle before switching to another then come back it doesnt hit as good. A video on how to stretch on different skin locations would be dope. I also noticed that tatting black skin gets really puffy and hard to tell what ur tatting. I think it has something to do with the melanin releasing inflammatory cytokines as it is a protective mechanism. Anyways. I always feel like im trying too hard to stretch compared to the live videos of artists yet their lines hit first time.

    I've needed this so so bad. I'm starting to learn and practice and after a time on fruit I did my upper thigh. The ink wouldn't stay and the lines were so thin! It's completely different practicing on fake skin and fruit then trying real skin. Maybe I wasn't stretching my skin enough? Over all, I was able to fit my tattoo enough to look pretty good. I'm still upset that I don't have an answer as to what I was doing wrong. My speed was up correctly, I had enough ink, and my needle was out the right depth, so I have no idea what I was doing wrong :( But this video was so needed!!! Thank you for your work!

    Thanks for another great video! I wanted to share a little knowledge about the CNC machines.. I was looking into the Hawink machines Faulhaber motors & they all have the same T2607 7.5v motors. This is great, but they glue them in along with hold them with grub screws so it was hard to tell which motor it was. I took the glue off of mine because I found that you can order 2607 12v or even 24v motors from buyfaulhaber.com for around $70 including shipping. The problem is, you can't tighten the grub screws onto the motor because it squeezes it too much & compromises the motor. I actually hot glued mine back in & took the grub screws out. It works great! I'm looking forward to adding the 2607012TS Faulhaber motor to see what difference it makes. Sorry for rambling so much, this stuff just excites me!.. I actually just ordered one of those ambition wireless machines for $80 black friday deal on Amazon to switch out the motor with a Faulhaber. I can't wait!

    • @ArtSomething
      @ArtSomething  3 года назад +1

      Damn thats some awesome info brother! And really cool to know that you can somewhat easily switch the motor out with a more powerful motor that is also a Faulhaber motor. I may have to look into that. Hopefully you will let us know how it performs after a while of using it. Thanks again Graffics appreciate the info and the support! Keep Rocking brother!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
