  • Tattooing for beginners Stipple Shading Explained!! The basic techniques of stipple shading on both fake skin and real skin. We start off on fake skin while explaining the process. We then zoom in close up on the tattoo for a better look at what the needles and hand are doing to achieve the desired stipple effect. I then perform the same techniques on real skin where I tattoo the top of my leg in an effort to display the technique on real skin as well.

      Do yourself and the tattoo community a favour, go look for an experienced artist that is willing to give you a proper apprenticeship learn properly from a professional and you will also earn respect from respected artists.
      This was a sacred community help keep it that way.
      Its great to see so many people wanting to be a part of the industry but do it properly you will thank yourself.

    I've been waiting ages for a stippling video like this, thanks for the sacrificial offering of the leg. You literally put your blood, sweat and tears into this channel. I find that setting the depth and riding the tube during stippling helps a lot to control the depth of the needle during the rapid hand movements.

    • @ArtSomething
      @ArtSomething  3 года назад

      LOL no problem im happy to give up a little leg space. And your right you can bring the needles in a little bit and ride to tube as it can help keep a more consistant depth as well, again assuming the needle depth is set right. Thanks again man appreciate the support!! 🤘🤘

    I really appreciate these videos that you make. I live in a small town in the mountains where there's no one to really apprentice under... The more I read online The More I got discouraged due to the gatekeeping surrounding tattooing, but then I found your videos! I ordered a machine and a whole bunch of stuff that you recommended along with a whole bunch of fake skin and the passion for learning to tattoo is back!!! So just kind of wanted to say thank you for being so open to teach people like me the basics so we can start learning about tattooing in a safer way. Really appreciated, and I look forward to all of your videos!

      Thank you so much Shelby as I know how hard it can be to learn how to tattoo. And your right its not always easy to find an shop to take you in when you live far from a city. • @Lind3sbecca

    Great stuff and insightful as usual brother. Thanks for sharing the tricks of the trade.
    I hate when people learn from others and then hoard information so others don’t learn. I’ve had that happen many times when people ask me for tattoo advice, shading coloring etc, and then turn around and tell me, “Dude man, I can’t share that, my mentor told me to never share my techniques.”
    Flabargasting, but very real. What comes around goes around the-way-of-the-Universe!

    Advice for making stencils last longer? I've tried to dilute my green soap more, more dabbing with paper towels and less wiping. Helps a little. Still have issues tho. Even tho I let the stencil dry for 20 mins at least. Using Stencil Stuff..
    Also, my ink caps sometimes dry out. I use Dynamic and Eternal. It's happened to both.

      Don’t wipe much on your initial lining/shading. I always line everything out unless the ink blotches up then I wipe a bit in the certain spot. But no wiping until my initial lining is done then go back and touch up and darken the lining and you can wipe as much as you want

    Great video again personally I prefer a longer stroke machine for this effect like around 4.2 in my valhalla at 6 to 7 volts works awesome and hand speed very important.

    • @ArtSomething
      @ArtSomething  3 года назад +1

      I agree the longer the stroke the better for stippling. I like the Q2 as it has a 4mm stroke but a 4.2 would be that much better. And your right hand speed is the key to this one. Thanks for watching Travis appreciate the support brother! 🤘🤘

    I actually haven't learned this yet- Thanks! I think they pernounce them like the "Rhine" in Germany. Because Cheyenne is from Germany so they're probably trying to get their customers to buy their "German" product. The same company that makes your CNC Q2 machine makes them- Solong/Hawink/CNC & Stigma (Not Stigmarotary) I use their Quelle & Stigma cartridges but I was skeptical when they contacted me to buy their new Solong cartridges from Amazon & leave a review & they'd reimburse me. I did it & they actually reimbursed my PayPal account! It's pretty cool seeing I'm only a year into tattooing. When I emailed their sponsorship department back to thank them for the reimbursement I actually told them about Art-Something's RUclips channel & how I'm sure you helped sell alot of their CNC Q2 machines & they wrote back thanking me & saying, "both your two actions are really helpful for us. I have informed our guys to follow up and handle with the issue" (exact words). But it looks like they sent you those before I even emailed them. I know you're not doing this for anything but to help your fellow artists but a sponsorship is always nice. Hope they send you some CNC machines! You can do giveaways after your review if you don't want to keep what they send. You'll be hitting 100,000 subs soon! Thank you for all your help brother!

      WOw thank you sooo very much Graffics that means a lot that you would mention me and thank you for that. Funny you talk about the needles and machine cause they did send me a machine and im working on making a first impression video as we speak. And I think your in my head cause I really want to give it away to someone who could use it more then me as I still have my eye on a couple other machines that I want to try out. So yeah Im putting it away for when we hit 100K subs along with some other things i put in there along the way. And thank you Graffics I really do appreciate your continued support Brother!!! 🤘🤘🙏🙏🤘🤘 And God Bless!!
