...... Jerry was a race car driver, drove so gawd damn fast, never did win no checkered flag but he never did come in last, Jerry was a race car driver he'd say El Sob #1, with his Bocephus sticker on his 442 he'd light em up just for fun ...... Love this one!
Finally.... An Olds feature! I've been a strictly Olds guy since birth. They don't get the recognition they should. Hope to have my '71 on the legendary autotopia LA one day.
@@IrishDevil78 I agree. LS swaps are a dime a dozen. It would've been much cooler with an Olds engine swap IMO but at least its not crushed or sitting rusting away in someone's garage
I feel the same. My Dad had one back when he was young and said he didn't really feel excited about the looks and performance. He loved his Comet though. I like the looks of a 442 WAY more. I think Mercury Cougars, the XR7's especially, are slept on too. That'll be my first true, show class restomod if I ever get one. Everyone has a Camaro or a Mustang or a Chevelle or an Impala... Cookie cutter. There's a TON of cool cars people don't consider. You can find a host car for a lot cheaper.
@@____MC____ Not as silly as that stupid Charger. Between that and the boob bumper, it's the ugliest thing ever to hit the street to me 😂. People love it.
To me, this is the sweet spot. You have a modernized classic car that looks original, but isn’t. It is comfortable, the interior is mostly stock looking, but it’s nicer. You have a 442 that is better handling and much faster than the original, but it’s still a 442. With the highly upgraded suspension and the size of the car, the 600+ hp is not overpowering it. Love it.
The Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 is one of those cars that really makes me feel nostalgic. As a kid an older neighbor of mine had a 70's model 442. So sad Oldsmobile and Pontiac don't exist to this day.
Mom. had this exact car without the 442 package, had the Sports Package with gold buckets and int, 350-2, automatic. May have had gold vinyl top. Never ceased to turn heads. These LED headlights are fantastic. Oldsmobile walk-off styling- this is so well done.
Shawn, I love every minute of every epsiode. The cars are great, the production of the video is great. Keep doin what your doin! Keeps giving me motivation to keep restoring my 91 camaro.
I had a 1972 Olds Cutlass S. Very similar body. Noticeably different tail lights. Mine was a basic 350 v8 model in a similar metallic paint colour. I loved that car. It had all the right bones to be turned into a 442 replica. It was just a really nice car. I think those mid-sized GM ‘S were the perfect body size. They could be sporty and comfortable, with plenty of interior room for four and enough trunk space for summer holidays.
not for nothing I went to a car show on Long Island about a year ago and 70%+ of the cars were 442s for some insane reason they were selling them for very reasonable prices.
I’ve seen this guys cars before and they are the way to go. That olds is real nice wow. Thanks again sir great video. Mix of old and new is the way to go…👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Probably my second favorite next to the Chevelle with redlines. Big fan of the Oldsmobiles! Thanks for sharing! Roger makes you look like a little guy, holy moly!
A lot of friends had 442s back in the 70s. There was a 67...2 or maybe 3 68s... and a 1970 convertible in this very color. Always loved the 442s. I had a 72 GTO in almost the same color but the pontiac color was a bit more orange. Another great car in this body is tge Buick G/S. Orguably the cream of the crop... Nice car here. Another great vid!!
This care looks and is amazing. For me the LT4 is perfect for this car bc you need the power but you don’t want too much power, hear me out, you want to be able to ride with your wife or husband but at the same time be able to act a fool on the weekend. AND be able to fix it and not need a shop to lie to you about what you need.
Everyone ask, what car would you buy if money was not an option and I say not sure/nothing. But I have been lying, that is the car. 1972 Cutlass Supreme, hard top. But I can go for a convertible.
@@JLYHT - Drove a bronze ‘72 Cutlass in the mid to late 70’s after totaling two cars before turning 25. Needed a slow cruiser to get me to 25 when my insurance rates would come back down! It was a nice cruiser and the back seat was very roomy. 😉
Holy... F**king....Crap...... Honestly, I never thought those spoilers looked that great. Same with the GTO Judge. But that is just a gorgeous car. Love the old Cutlass shape and the 442 is a beast.
I played soccer with a guy with a Cutlass and we would drift it around the corners in the back roads on the way home from practice. My parents were thinking I had a smile on my face from practice…
Olds aint my cup of tea...that said... there's no deny the beauty of this build. It's like they used a giant 3d printer to create this level of craftsmanship. That center console box had me sold. Yep... i is now an Olds fan!
Grease is the most overlooked thing that an home hobbyist can do when putting a vehicle together. If it moves, pivots etc, put some grease on it. Clean all the old off prior btw. Work the part back and forth, whatever range of motion it has and clean off the excess.
Sweet car, I didn't realize the 442 was the luxury version really cool. I like the transparency of the cost and what it takes to put a car of that caliber together. You guys kick ass! Thanks for showing
The 442 was the performance version of a Cutlass. The W-30 was the higher performance package on top of the 442. The Cutlass Supreme was the luxury version.
If i was that client spending that much cheddar i would want my car , not getting stone chips and hot rodded for shits and giggles!! Or is that called working out the bugs 😂
It is my recollection that the Oldsmobile is superior to the Chevelles, and just adding... I'm not knocking chevelles I love them and I've owned a few of them myself !😊
My favorite car of all time 70-72 cutlass!
Mine is two cars,,,Blue C6 ZR1 and 2015 Z28 Camaro!
As far as old schools go, yes except I’ll throw in 1973 also. I owned a black ‘73 4-4-2 with a built BBC engine.
Always loved Oldsmobile. Probably my favorite car you've showcased yet!

Easily the best looking of the classic muscle cars and I'm glad someone's recognized that its worth an update.

And they put a Chevrolet engine in it, which is blasphemy, then charged a $400K premium for it. This is coming from a real Olds guy.

You know Shaun, most people watching won't have a budget like that so that's why I appreciate ya posting all these great cars man

Thats a Sharp F-ing car .... Sean @Autotopia La.. coolest guy and drives the baddest rides on the planet.
I had a 70 W-30 that was silver with black stripes. A beast of a streetcar in 1976! Great work.
I had 70 w30 white with red stripes 4 speed beast yes.

had the 70 W-30 in gold ... some modifications 12.4 quarter
