I have a ‘16 ATS4 2.0T….bought it new, and just had the transmission fluid changed, along with a new transmission harness/sensor. Quite costly. This seems to have fixed a shudder/vibration issue (for now). Felt like I was going over rumble-strips at some speeds, before. Otherwise, I love the car. Small, zippy and fun to toss around winding roads.
Found your channel because I was interested in the ATS. To say the least, I absolutely loved your videos about the ATS. I guess you wouldn't recommend IT to someone who's looking for a powerful but reliable vehicle. It's too bad you experienced so much frustration with the car but I hope you and your family can enjoy the Dodge and use it stress free for many years! God bless.
Most likely the transmission needs a proper flush. I dropped my pan and replaced fluid and filter and it helped A LOT! Some people have told me it was all they needed and it worked for them. The filter gets clogged. The fluid gets saturated with metal and clutch material. Its a mess. But the shudder didnt go away until the dealer power flushed it 100% cleaned out. Be aware that it could be an engine issue... but usually you'd get a code/engine light. Heres the transmission fluid and filter change I performed. ruclips.net/video/tzwCkaozqMc/видео.html
Good for you! I found your channel because of your ATS. I have one but a bit of a different animal. Mine is a 2015 Cadillac ATS premium performance with the 3.6 rwd without an issue other than my cue had to be replaced, under warranty. The interior in the new Rams is just as nice as a Cadillac!!! Lol. I hope you have better luck with the truck, which I'm sure you will since I believe your ATS could have been lemon lawed! Lol, not funny for real! Good luck
That is a sad truth :( the tires were wearing wonderfully and still smooth and quiet. But would have been interesting to see how long they lasted! I guarantee it would have been a lot more than the general game rs I had before 👍
@@sstressfl I put the 207's on our Chevy Bolt. Your video was key in that decision, so thanks for sharing. So far they seem great, but I don't drive it too often as it's my wife's daily driver. I may be putting 207's on my DD next year.
I didn’t know I would like it so much! And by the way… I don’t blame you for buying an ats. One test drive and I was hooked too. It’s a gorgeous super cool car. Shame it has some component quality issues. My best to you 🙏
I had a an 16 Ats 2.0 with 23,000 miles it was a good car other then the fact the transmission and torque converter seized before 25,000 miles. I launched it they just replaced the parts with parts that are the same as the junk they used to build it. Best decision you ever made to get rid of the cadillac.
The Toyota in the truck category is rated as the worst. Consumer Reports last year said "do not buy". They are slowly getting things sorted, but I still read nightmares about things... weird things... breaking in the new Toyota trucks. But yes! Overall, those two brands are top for reliability.
Wow congratulations on the new truck. Looks like a nice ride. I think it will work out great for your family. It is amazing how the newer trucks ride. They have come a long way from the old trucks. I like the Dodge styling the best of the big trucks. Sure whic sh the would bring back the Dakota sized pick ups from the 90's. Enjoy your new ride. Will you be doing an in depth review on it? We traded our ATS in on a Chevy Bolt EUV about two months ago. Got lucky and found just the right model and color available on the lot with no dealer BS markup or add ons. Just the right size for the two of us. Not as much fun to drive as the ATS but way more practical. Our ATS was the base stripper model so not a lot of standard features. Our EUV comes with a lot of the newer safety features, heated and cooled seats and actual usable rear legroom. The infotainment system is very similar to the Caddy which we really liked but they added back real control buttons and switches. Can't say we miss the Caddy to much either.
Thank you 🙏 small and mid size trucks are selling like crazy right now. I saw a Bolt the other day. Fascinated by EVs but as trucks go for towing they fall short. Eventually we will replace our family minivan and hope for it to be a hybrid of some sort. Winters in VT are very tough on EV range. It sounds like you got a great ride and a great deal and you’re ready for the new generation of transportation :) I did make a drive video / review on my way to Florida with the truck. It’s quite amazing.
Congratulations. I was a Dodge guy. Had (8) of them. The only reason I stopped buying them, was they didn’t have any choices of cars. Good luck 🍀 and it treats you well.
Congratulations. You will love the Dodge. I have the 3/4 tons for work and the 5.7 has been solid. The only bummer is everything else seems under powered now.
I'll keep an eye on it but so far in 2022, the mags say Stallantis has been good for RAM. Issues have fallen off the charts. Consumer Reports tie it with Toyota for reliability. Chevy and Ford having on-going problems. Praying its a solid platform.
The current Toyota tundra is the only truck on consumers “do not buy” list. They have serious trouble with fit and finish, electronics and turbos going bad that require removal of the entire cab to repair. In the meantime ram has been getting better thru efforts by its new owner, Stellantis! Even the hemi tick has been addressed with upgraded lifters. All vehicles have issues but right now a Toyota is suffering with its new redesign. ☹️
@@patrickwaldrich same conversation I had with my buddy about his older Toyota truck! I said if its solid, do not buy a new one lol! Give it a couple years and they'll have it locked down :)

This is sensible. I wouldn't be driving my ATS on a muddy road everyday.
It really is ideal for rural Vermont 👍
