    The thing is, Oregon may be conservative, but I completely disagree with the "TRUMP cultist" part, the rural conservatives here are actually much more sensible here than most of the other states, and much nicer

    I have been living in Roseburg for 10 years now. Originally from the most freedom loving state in the Union: Florida. I love it here in Roseburg, but I agree that there is definitely some nepotism going on. I have worked for both the private sector, and federal governments here in Roseburg and I have experience nepotism in both. It’s who you know not what you know. My biggest concerns right now is the explosion of homeless, drug overdose, increase in traffic, and increase of cost of living. Hoping things change soon and even out. Other than that I love Roseburg. It’s a great town with great hard working people which btw since that gentleman called the locals Trump cultist. What that guy doesn’t realize is the people of rural Oregon are not represented in the politics of Portland, Salem, and Eugene or like Mike Rowe would say…That is the way I heard it.

    I like that you give people the opportunity to share their own opinions on things, good and bad. I enjoy hearing their honest answers and insights. Very down to earth, realistic and basic, real-life responses instead of a staged advertising campaign that is not a true reflection of Roseburg as a whole. I enjoy watching your videos. They bring things to light that are good to know from downright real people who are not play acting. Well done.

      I think the fact he brought it up proves that yes, there are plenty of Trump flags, but hey, he is obviously on the other side of the fence. Showing that there are plenty from both sides around here. I try to stay out of it 🙃😅

      That Trump flag hurt my feelings. He probably hates that he's mis gendered. His pronouns are @#$$@.

    • @egtge218
      @egtge218 Год назад +1

      @@TheBeckhamGroupThe difference is the sheer amount of physical propaganda people spread around... And those flags on the trucks are a massive safety hazard. I would give a truck with flags on it extra space just because there's a good chance a flag will fly off.
      The lady about the cyclists was correct, also. Bicyclists are given a lot more room nowadays than before but that's like in 2010 ish I used to get garbage thrown at me when bicycling on the parts of the park trail near the roads, and now people actually give me more room.
      Those who said nepotism are definitely hitting the right note though. It's very difficult for locals who aren't 'in the in' around here to start local businesses.

    • @TheBeckhamGroup

      @@TheBeckhamGroup Makes perfect sense, especially to this Californian, as our own population centers affect the rest of the state. It's just so frustrating. • @CChartier1
      @CChartier1 2 года назад +1

      @@TheBeckhamGroup I agree. Rural areas in Oregon are mostly conservative but there is plenty of places in Oregon such as Portland that make national news all the time for being extremely liberal. It seems pretty well mixed to me, even in the rural areas now.

    • @CChartier1
      @CChartier1 2 года назад +2

      @@HistoryOnTheLoose I think they should pay a little more attention to what the rural Oregonians want as well and try to represent all the people who live here and not just one group. I think Oregon's industry has been hard hit by some of the policies they have brought put in and if they are going to take away job's they should try harder to encourage other industry in to replace it (maybe more Tourism) since it is really beautiful here and we are on the I-5 corridor.

    You've asked, "What questions do you want me to ask the people of Roseburg." I would like you ask people what types of fun things they would support if investors wanted to start up some things in the area. What ideas do they have that Roseburg would be a good place to bring people out to mingle and get acquainted or enjoy doing throughout the year? I went to Helen Georgia which is a cute little Bavarian Themed town in the Appalachian Mountains. They have some very fun things for people to do there. Bob sled mountain rides. Inner tubing down the river for groups of tourists with outdoor restaurants overlooking the river. Camps with rope swing bridges and obstacle courses and many very cute shops that offer a large variety of specialty gifts and items and many events. It is cold there in the winters too, colder then here and it rains at least as much as it does here, but people still come from all over to visit all year round.

    Growing up here there was a motocross track, plenty of places to go riding, a lot of us kids rode dirt bikes. Now with some growth and a lot of private land most areas we rode or went swimming are gone, access is very limited for fire danger also. It would be nice to have an off road area, instead of having to go to the dunes to ride.

    i grew up here and currently live in ashland but going to move back there in about a year. Living in the medford area is def different. I would say for the most part roseburg is a quite town yah it is boring but thats why i learned to play basketball and disc golf to meet people. the north is a great river the south is gross tho. one big pain of living in the medford area is it takes me 25 minutes to get to work so one way while in roseburg you can drive through the entire town it 10 minutes which was nice. people complain about the homeless but they are everywhere no matter where you go. i noticed that the people are way more kind in roseburg and the traffic is way better it freaking sucks here. if you were to move to roseburg i would say try for the outskirts like winchester or green, winston area. If you are dead set on being in town i would say try to avoid moving to the downtown and pinestreet area alot of tweakers there.

    Asking transplants about my town. I lived here almost my entire life over 50 years, hope you realize that many people out and about Roseburg, shopping, etc actually don't live within city limits. People that shop, etc at Roseburg come into town from many sprawled outlying areas around Roseburg such as Green, Winston, Riddle, Dillard, Glide, Sutherlin, Lookingglass, Umpqua, Melrose, Canyonville, Azalea, Glendale, Days Creek, Rice Valley, Yoncalla, Elkton, Oakland, Tri City, Myrtle Creek areas. Those saying there's not much to do aren't locals that been living Douglas County. Some shown in this video only been here short time and not familiar with the area(s). And as for the Trump Cultists remark I can vouch for majority residents here we rather have Trump than dementiated Biden or his puppet master Obama.

    I have been looking at many places in Oregon to possibly move to, but... It seems like every place, whether Eugene, Corvallis or on the cost, and now Roseburg ALL have these things in common...
    Homelessness galore, overpriced housing/apartments that are extremely hard to find and jobs are very difficult as well to find.
    NOT a good combination of prospects when making a huge relocation.
    The scenery is absolutely gorgeous, but the rest of the Oregon way of life is down right depressing.
    The problem is the Governor/government of the state of Oregon is of the Liberal mindset.
    Every Liberal ran city or state all have these things in common...
    High Homelessness, high prices for living and high drug and crime, which goes hand in hand.
    I guess my possible dream of living in Oregon will only be that, a dream.
    Depressing lifestyle of the afore mentioned.
