What a great summer it was - I felt carefree & didn't have one single care or worry in the world! Man, do I miss those days! Gotta give props when these ladies play their own instruments & sing! A Taste of Honey were before either The Go-Gos or The Bangles in this regard. Bravo, Ladies (& Gentleman)!

Then in August of the same year, after I got back from competing in the PanAm Games, Perry Kibble (on keyboard) flew me out to LA to hang out with them. Went to various recording studios, including Stevie Wonder's. Great memories. RIP Perry!
I'm a bass player as well, and you are absolutely right. It's no easy task to play that kind of bass part, sing that well and maintain such good stage presence throughout. She had it all going on for sure.

LOL, this was one of the first songs I learned how to (misplay), as a freshmen in HS. They are totally awesome! I wondered what happened to them until I saw the 20 year reunion. What a shame they stopped playing for all those years. God, I wish soul music would make a comeback. I miss the big horns, big voices SINGING, meaningful words and almost 100% positive music.

I posted this somewhere else, but, I saw them in 1978 when I was 15. They opened for the Isley Bros. I drooled the whole time they were on stage. After the Isley Bros. were out there for about 15 minutes, I was wishing ATOH would come back.

I used to go to the clubs with all my friends when they were there and man what a time we had. We danced away the whole night. WOW
