I love this disco song. I was 4 in 1979. In the early 90s as a teenager, I remember this song being played on a local Sunday Night Dance Party show (3 hours commercial-free) live on the radio from a nightclub called Eclipse in Binghamton, NY. Born as a Gen Xer, I am 49 will be 50 toward the end of 2024. My late mother loved disco when she was in her 20s during the mid 70s to late 70s. I miss her very much! I am feeling the disco/dance vibe like that I in a nightclub dancing with people on the floor. Party on 2024!

I grew up in Switzerland - musically and culturally about as advanced as North Korea back then.. so I never had the pleasure of experince the great times in the US.. but we lived through the TV and pretended to be 'there".. still great times they were (nothing to this turmoil going on now).

When Chic came out it was totally different. The music just fit your dance steps.. and I met this young lady, she had style and grace.. She was built like a model . We lived together and went out each weekend to house parties, discos, and parks were I see dee hated in the park. And it Chic with that classic guitar sound playing and you just hit the floor. Well that was 1979. Speed forward light years ahead two girls and now two boys and 42 years lady and it was this music that brought us together.. LB November 2021
I was 10 in 1979. I had older siblings that kept music like this in the house. Record player played amazing grooves while we did homework,played board games,dance or cleaned the house on Saturdays. Great times!!!!

Interestingly it didn't happen in the UK or Europe but by 81 was morphing into the QUINCY JONES sounding era, new sub genres had formed including the eventually dominant RAP,. HI NRG and the BREAK DANCE craze of 83/84. Then we hit HOUSE Music and DiSCO had its revenge.
But WITHOUT DISCO none of this would have happened

I was in born in 1979. These videos used to appear on the TV box while growing up a kid in the 80's. So much happy memories dancing in front adults clapping... This era's music always makes me happy.
Great song, group, video and production! Kathy did a good job of hiding that she didn't like the "Please take me home" lyric. In later concert performances she changed it to "Please don't go home."
Nile Rogers and Bernard Edwards created a one of a kind sound. Never heard before..., not heard since. That was R&B Soul at the peak of its power. The Golden Age of the genre.
