- Dog lives in Manhattan and he’s tired of being alone. One day he decides to build himself a robot, a companion. Their friendship blossoms, until they become inseparable, to the rhythm of 80’s NYC. One summer night, DOG, with great sadness, is forced to abandon ROBOT at the beach.

I saw it as it already came out here in Australia. Truly incredible. Y'all are not prepared by how simultaneously delightful and devastating this film is. Do not miss Robot Dreams.

So glad I got to catch one of the sneak preview screenings last month. It's genuinely one of the best animated films I've ever seen, and I can't wait to see it again!

Saw it in NYC at the director special screening. I absolutely loved it. Living in NYC and seeing NYC represented in such a positive way with all the atmosphere and with everything that people do in the city. I love this film and I love this city.

You wont cry in the theater. This film is a very effective exploration of the lose of a valued relationship, but no tragedy occurs. Characters make mistakes, but it's never directly anyone's fault.
I love this movie because there is never one point here where an error occurs, Sometimes people who love one another drift away, and no amount of effort can bring them together again.
Of course the tragedy was someone’s fault. They were torn apart by an utterly incompetent system. None of this would have happened if someone had just been intelligent enough to understand that a fucking beach should remain open.
i remember getting the graphic novel back in 2007. and wow it’s now a movie. congrats Sara!
Am I going to cry in the theatres? Yes. Am I mad about it? HELL NO

A family friend gave me the book. I did not expect it to be a movie, but all I know is that I will in fact cry the entire time.

This film should have been released last year, the year it premiered and got nominated for the Oscar. NEON always does stupid stuff like this with really good films.

Well, the movie is set in the 80s and we are in New York, it would be surprising if the towers weren't there
Why is this a big deal a lot of modern movies made after the attack# but set before them still include them. It’s like how some movies set in the 1940/50s have people treat8 g over races badly because that’s what happened at the time
Yeah, the movie is set in 1984. I'm no math wizard, but I'm quite sure that 1984 came before 2001.

Well, many times in a trailer, music is used that is never used in the movie, this serves to promote the movie.
@@luisdt246 i guess i cant think of good examples of that, but the music choice for this trailer doesnt really fit the vibe of the film. im just a bit confused especially since the existing trailers are a lot better with music choice. this was my favorite movie of 2023/2024 and the music choice for this trailer wouldnt make me want to watch it if it was my first time seeing it.

The first trailers for the movie literally had spoilers for the movie INCLUDING music like "Flowerland" or obviously September
Now that we know (and NEON also knows) that Robot Dreams is a success, it is better to take advantage of it with a trailer that doesn't show much of the movie, This way it attracts more people and does not show important spoilers
@@luisdt246 oh no i agree, i think the spoilers in the other trailers were quite bad. the trailer that i watched that got me interested in the movie was the teaser released by NEON. even though i liked the other trailer put out with september in it, the visuals were really spoilery and i prevented my friends from seeing it. im upset i saw it before i watched the movie, but i think the sound direction in it was good.
i dont think putting music in a trailer from the movies OST constitutes as a spoiler, as lots of films do this (off the top of my head: spiderverse, turning red, birdboy, promare, your name, etc.). if anything, it can help to build excitement by introducing a song without proper context, because then when audiences hear it in the movie they have a greater sense of understanding about it.
i also just dont think the song in this trailer fits the movie, as its very intense and high tempo, while the movie is quite slow and mellow for the majority.

hi everybody, i just wanna to know that, i got spoiler the finale of this movie from Mexico on March, even though has a fanbase a lot, theres also so much cancel culture conversation full of conservative influencers and "the audience" dragging Dog of what did he done with Robot rather then a reflexion about of moving on, i recommend to you, not looking on X or googling featuring some disgusting conversations of them.

The comic book this film is based on came out 17 years ago. There’s nothing “woke” about this movie or its source material. That word means nothing at this point with how much y’all overuse it over nothing.

Men are allowed to be intimate with each other. There is nothing adult or inappropriate for children in this movie or its source material. It preaches no messages or relies on any politics of today.

And the award for WORST TRAILER OF THE 2020s GOES TO.... This is a goddamn awful and uninspired trailer. Sad to say. WATCH THE GERMAN TRAILER if you want to have a clearer picture of what to expect. It is so much better and way more engaging. Had I seen this one here, I would not have cared and not watched the movie. Tonight I am going to see it for the scond time and taking five friends with me.
