This wasn't even made for Montblanc, this is just how Wes Anderson lives in real life.
😄
crazy to know he watched and really likes Evangelion wtf
This little video makes me wish Wes Anderson would act in front of the camera in his films.
He acts and delivers lines very well, and his chemistry with his long term actor friends lends an air of relaxed naturality between them!
He ~is~ the actors
Agreed!
He should narrate all his films! But on screen as a character like Richard Ayoade in The Rat Catcher.
This is some of the worst acting I’ve seen in a long time 😂
He was the Real Estate Agent weasel in Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Wes is the most Wes Anderson character after all
I never thought I’d repeat-watch an ad for a pen, but here we are!
also watches and leather goods!
How inspiring is the fusion between Wes Anderson's personal aesthetics with the history of the pen. Perfect combination!
❤
This has all the quirkiness, intrigue, and planned randomness that I love from Wes Anderson.
He actually designed the pen and they agreed to produce it. Will be limited to 1969 pieces $2,500 price
Dollars?
@@TlaIock yes
it's not actually that expensive for less than 2000 pcs limited edition i was expecting way more
I do not have Taylor Swift money to pay for a pen! 😭
Ah, for the simple man.
Why is this Montblanc ad like that?
this is a deep cut
the loose improvisational feel of this gives this ad unironically gives it more energy and life than the last four shorts he did put together. perhaps Wes is going more ordered-chaos and less ordered-order with his future works?
You should do a video about this ad for nebula or patreon subscribers 😁😁
Mr video essay ❤
Why are you like this?
Love Wes’ little condescending chuckle at 2:13
This makes me want to see Wes' animatics a lot more now.
Bob Yeoman (Wes' cinematographer) has said on a few interviews that Wes makes animatics of every one of his films down to every detail where Wes performs every line of dialogue down to every pause and overlap. Truly incredible attention to detail
What’s an animatic?
@@rohangondor6250 It's basically an animated storyboard with every shot in the film. Anderson draws out the vibes, shows the blocking, and the design of the film. It's more common on animated films (he picked this up after doing Fantastic Mr. Fox) where animated filmmakers would make these anamatics to see how the animation is flowing and to find pacing, shot selection, and other details before fully animating it to save time
@@noahlindauer Thanks!
This is the greatest ad I’ve ever seen
The H&M Christmas ad is even better.
Did we just witness the best short film of 2024?!
No.
Maybe?
No, we didn't. Refreshing ad though.
Oh my god, I love seeing Wes act in his own work, even if it's for an ad. He has a very humorous personality, I would love to see him someday write himself into his own movie although he probably won't, which is fine
This feels like a pre-Disney ride video in the best way possible.
My worlds are colliding.
What a genius way of putting out an ad with all the textures of Wes Anderson film.
Wes delivering, in person.
You don’t always get what you paid for, fortunately this is clearly not the case.
Great collaboration, excited to see what’s next :)
These Wes Anderson ads are some of my favorites!! Simple, not forced, and you come away with a deep education in the said product. Bravo and Well Done!!
Wes Anderson is perfect for this.
That's so cool to see Wes acting, I can see now why every actors line delivery is perfect in his movies, the direction has to be just as good with this acting chops!
Even with commercials Wes makes it so whimsical and non-forced.
I was so sure that, this videos wasnt 3min long, almost like 30 seconds. Wes always does this.
Ummm... Best pen ad ever. Well done Wes and well done Mont Blanc -- love it 🙌
Only Wes can make such chit-chatty dialogue feel structured and timed to a tee. Awesome ad, funny people, good job Montblanc!
I'm a film student and I would give my soul to work with Wes Anderson, he's such an inspiration!
who recognized it's Wes' work just from the thumbnail? 🙋♂
THAT WAS DIVINE ❤
Im starting a petition for Wes to direct and star in ALL future commercials. I would watch them all gladly 😊
😂
Here hear... do it mate!!
Thanks for ordering this mini film Mont Blanc! Love the small West Anderson ads/mini films
I don't know why, but I felt like the "It was a week before the solstice when little Helmut finally realized he was being hunted by a polar bear" was code for something. Would have been cool if it were. Perhaps, I am not smart enough to figure it out... or just suspicious enough to be deluded. Still! I am looking forward to his pen as I am his movies. I just hope it is affordable. Great video!
I thought the same. Wondering if it's a reference to the line from the Madame Web ad. Could be wrong
Someone said 2500.00 USD and an edition of
OMG> it is a dream for any creative director - all the info, the luxury of 3 mins, the celebrities. And I did want to buy it !! Ad Perfection
I will never never never tire of Wes Anderson’s aesthetic. Never.
I found it tiring after half a movie.
@@ClemyNX Okay
I didn't expect to see him so comfortable in front if the camera. great stuff
Oh, look, a Rupert Friend video. And some pens. 😍
@@GlennC789 Not sure why you took it that way. I like it.
@@GlennC789 It's all good. Text is hard to discern in a line or two sometimes. 😊
this is the best ad i’ve ever seen 😭
I just LOVE everything Montblanc! This was fantastic. Thank you for making and posting this piece.
I can’t believe how much I enjoyed this. Thoroughly entertained and will be watching again. The acting moments are so good.
Never thought I'd be so excited for a pen
This is the kind of ad I wouldn't skip
very silly and fun! thank you Mr. Anderson for your vision and intriguing pen design!
this is absolute gold
This is awesome
Love Wes Anderson
0:48 "Celsius or Centigrade" 😂😂
You know you over charge for your pens when you can afford Wes Anderson to shoot and act in your commercial
Loving the Greenery
I’ve always wanted a Mont Blanc. Now I want one even more.
Unfortunately there's only one Mont Blanc and I doubt France & Italy would be happy to let you have it.
Also, how would you take it and where would you put it?!
Great to see a few minutes of Wes’ live stream
😂😂 I guess I need me some Montblanc pens in my life!! Love you Wes Anderson and thank you for this refreshingly funny and inspirational ad. I need to get a journal as well... let's get writing ✍️ 🦋✨️
Okay... ready to watch the movie now...
This is the best ad I've seen in a long time. So enjoyable to watch.
In love with this Ad!!!
This is absolutely brilliant.
What a chuckle. Excellent!
Loved it! I was waiting for this anniversary, but not for This! This is exquisite!
Happy birthday Wes Andreson and Happy Birthday Meisterstück! :D
My first exposure to MontBlanc, and it's great!!!!
This video was a meisterstuck.
This makes for an excellent double-feature (double-ad?) with Michael Bay's FiOS commercial. Now I need one where Abrams is selling light bulbs, Lucas speaks in whole paragraphs and Spielberg keeps being talked over by his co-stars.
Terrific 👏🏼
i thought it was a movie, anddddddd very good movie but now this video leaves an impression or footprint of Montblanc on my subconscious. they acted soooo well and the setup, it must have been difficult to shoot movies or videos like this, it requires lot of continuous and constant flow of energy both on camera and behind camera to shoot with less retake and a balanced flow of dialogue. fantastic, loved it. 10/10
this makes me happy
It's very nice to see him act!
Amazing ad. Out of the box. Loved it.
So refreshing - great fun! Unlikely to ever have a Montblanc but respect for putting this together - love it!
One o the best ads ever!!! Wes Anderson is perfect for a role in the upcoming Wes Anderson film
These men are so wonderful
Hilarious. Wonderful. can't stop watching.
This is lovely, fascinating. I thought Oh that actor resembles Wes really good, then I realised that was Wes himself 😊
Best ad i saw in years, work of art
I LOVE THIS!!!
Fantastic. I never considered getting a Montblanc, but now I want one.
Right? Just part of the genius in selecting him as a brand ambassador. An entirely new demographic of customers is born with one short film!
You want a $600 pen that does the exact same work as a bic
@@patrickl9930 short answer yes. Every article that I write starts with a bic round stic and a five subject notebook. It takes me about 6 months to go through a single pen (yes I finish them) that then get discarded. With that pen goes the written object memory of everything that I wrote, just like the 100 billion bic pens that have been tossed before it. Yes, I want a pen that is special and that I can keep for the rest of my life. I aspire to become the best writer I can possibly be and, someday, finish writing my masterpiece of a novel. What better pen to use than the meisterstuck (masterpiece) from one of the best pen companies.
Beautiful :D
That’s so cool! And right when I was starting to get into Wes Anderson movies…
Love it!
love seeing brands doing things like this!
Beautiful.
So good, so good 👏
Hilarious, and Herrlich!! Happy anniversary.
Wes. is really great in this. Well done!
brilliant! Wes should think about acting in his future films too. He's so good.
Wes keep showing us that there is a better world.
Marvelous, wonderful and simply superb!! Fun and inspiring. I myself prefer my black and gold Classique paired with Montblanc Limited Edition JFK and a 146 Extreme 3.0 notebook in green (boutique only) - companions for life. Happy Anniversary!!✌️❤
Fantastic
Great Pen - I'm going to be sad when I eventually lose it - It was a gift from my wife. Hoping they integrate an AirTag type of device with them.
The Marketing team is genius, very good advertisement and writting .🤩🤩
Well I LOVE THIS!!!
This is fantastic. And coincidentally I received my first fountain pen in the mail hours before seeing this. But, it's a $20 Pilot, not a $1,000 montblanc
This was the most unexpected one, but I truly loved it, it was just like a Bonus Wes Anderson short movie
Duuude this is brilliant
УРААААААА!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!не зря я всю жизнь экономил, теперь я могу купить себе ручку со сдачи
Amazing
"And hot chocolate & pretzels." I can't stop smiling.
Wonderful. Now I must find a real life situation in which I can ask: "Celsius or Centigrade?".
"What? They're the same."
masterpiece
am I the only one who loved Wes' opening sentence? 😆
Ahhh this is so beautiful. Love these actors and Wes. Makes me want to buy Montblanc mission accomplished 😂❤
amazing
Bravo!
Was Wes Anderson referencing an actual book in his written sentence, "It was a week before the solstice when little Helmut finally realized he was being hunted by a polar bear"?
... Terry Pratchet Maybe ?
It reminded me the open sentence of Gabriel García Márquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude: “Many years later, as he faced the firing squad, Colonel Aureliano Buendía was to remember that distant afternoon when his father took him to discover ice.”
@@royishamir Damn, I think I have to read One Hundred Years of Solitude now.
Bravooo🎉
Perfection.
this is so charming
