... ... ... ... ... You're very intelligent and I love the quality you put into EVERY BIT of this production. It's an absolute pleasure to watch your Wednesday videos.
Great video! Would've loved if you had talked a bit more about Longines, though. They're an incredibly old company (probably swatch's oldest second to Breguet) with a lot of heritage.
I enjoyed the video, especially the earlier years that I knew little about. I would love to see a video on the story of the Swatch Watch itself. Most people don't know that it's initial launch in the US was a failure in the US, before it was recreated with new creative leadership and a new focus on visual design and fashion. There's a lot of interesting pieces to the 5 years of the Swatch products and a lot of firsts that the brand created in the world of marketing.
Cool. Swiss Made made affordable with art that's their heritage and they make their own movements (ETA and another). Any link on the history of the first watch and who made that balance wheel spring combo. What was time keeping like before the spring, balance wheel and catchment? God bless, Proverbs 31
So I'm late to comment on this. Swiss watch making is now being eaten by the rise of smart watches - Apple now sells more watches than the entirety of the Swiss watch industry!
You have NO RIGHT to come on here with your beautiful eyes, when I’ve not been adequately prepared to deal with the vapors. A warning sign at the start might’ve helped.
Clint W Don't overspend for your first one. There are some great affordable brands out there outside of Rolex, AP, Patek etc. Look into a Hamilton or definitely an Oris. Then as you learn more and make more you can move into Omega, Cartier and or Rolex etc.
Just returned a Swatch watch for a refund. Basically flimsey build and way overpriced for what they are. Not my cup of tea. Interesting history however.
Excellent video, I found it very informative
Loved this video man! Well done!
Thank you Carl!
Awesome recap of the long history, absolutely informative. Keep up the good work.
Great video, Jon. What a rich history behind the Swatch Group!
Thank you! So much more I’d like to dive into
Kudos! As an academic - it's clear to me that you put in the hours on the research. Not often done. Cheers! Thank you!
Great video! Louis Breget is actually a Swiss who went to work in Paris since his most important client were located there.
Thank you for sharing. I own several Swatches, some of them from the 80s and all of them work like a charm👍👏
Great video! Well presented! I like your passion and commitment to detail.

Thank you Flyguy, that means a lot. It took quite a bit of research and production work. Hope you enjoyed

Definitely could have it's own video!

Great video. Well done!
Excellent work.
Great video. Really interesting. I appreciate the pace of your videos. No bullshit - just facts.
Very nice video ! Great work ;)
Beil, locally pronounced(by German speakers) like Bee+Eel. I work about 200 yards from Omega's office there.

🤗
This video about the history of the watch market/business was better than any of the videos from the watch experts on RUclips.
What a great overview
I was sent to this channel by the Theo and Harris channel. I'm not disappointed.

Is it just me or does Jehan-Jaques Blancpain remind you of Teddy Baldassare
Wow, you definitely deserve a PhD for horological history man!
Sir I think if we call it family chart horology many prints can be done we do scientific products plz let us know what u think
that was awesome!!!!!
Now could you please teach me world history the same way.
More watch stuff. :)
Definitely
Abraham Louis Breguet is one of the 72 names inscribed on the Eiffel Towel..there is way more, but I'll leave you alone.
Imagine Archieluxury (after a few beers) doing a similar video 😁

Do you have a Swatch?
I’ve eyed up a Sistem51 but nothing yet. Now my wife wants one...
You forget to dwell on RADO
Brietling?
Starting to look at Swiss watches and maybe steer away from my Apple Watch when not at work.
I can’t get enough of TGV, he’s guided me into my watch enthusiasm

Smart didnt go anywhere ?
I thought ETA pronounced as Eeeeh - Taah, not abbreviate it
friendly fyi it's oh meh gah and not oh mee gah :)
(OWE - MAY - GAH)

Apple Watch seems to be the major threat to Swatch coz' it's the hippest relatively affordable watch for Gen X to millenials.
God bless, Proverbs 31
Quartz movements are a cancer in the watchmaking industry.
