I lost my mother in March. Keep the home fire burning for your father. It is lovely that he shares his memories with you. Hold each word he speaks with reverance and remember to pass those stories on to each member of yoru family.
I don’t know about you all, but every time I get this “Movie” notifications, I get so excited like someone just sent me a gift unexpected in my mailbox! Congratulations, Zack and Grandpa Joe on the new arrival of your newest family member!
Joe it was great to see your Dad, that made my day. I do have to admit, I missed Sarah it's 4am, Sarah, it's 4:20, Sarah, it's 4:45, I'm heading out. I sure hope she makes it to the tent for deer hunting. Tell her from an old man, she has all her life to work, but precious few times to make memories. Thanks for sharing Joe, deer (bow hunting) opens here next week 😃
Your Dad is a good man and really loves you! that was really sweet how he walked over to your camp and checked on you. He knew you were missing the kids. Lots of changes in your life the last few years.
Your story about the younger generation missing out When I was in my 20s I did not have a care in the world of listening to old stories and now I’m in my 40s my grandparents are longer here and I would love to sit by the fire and just listen people like your dad talk and tell stories.
Had to drop in and comment on your video. I have watched for several years and totally enjoy your content and must say I have a variety of favorites but I target yours as my top of the list. Joe congrats on being a grandpa again. Your annual duck hunting opener in my book is a success even without bagging out , it's the tradition that makes it so special. Hopefully the kids can join you for next year's duck opener.
Thanks to you, Zach, and Sam for the video of Rose the day after she was born. This is the first time I have watched this video. Doesn't seem like a Duck Camp video without Sarah and Zach.
I am still glad you did your trip alone. It sucks the Kiddos had alternate Circumstances, although understandable ones, but I appreciate your time and bringing us along with you. I always enjoy! Thank you and Congrats on your new Granddaughter Rose!
Sarah I've watched about a dozen times. Please do whatever you can to clear your schedule this year to make it to duck camp with your dad. I'm a dad and I can tell how much he misses you not being there. You at duck camp and deer camp I'll bet is his two favorite times of the year. He always says when he goes back for second week of deer camp how much he misses you not being there. Your a good daughter and have grown into a very nice young woman.
Read a comment that your little red lantern is paying respects to your grandpa. Is that the reason, great way to honour him. Nice to see your dad up ,missed Sara and Zack.Great video you never disappoint ,thanks for Sharing. Dale
Joe I missed hearing you say, "Sara it's 4:30 time to get up". It was so quiet in your camp this year without them there with you. It was nice seeing your brother Chris and his wife Theresa but especially nice to see your dad as well. At least you got one duck and it looked delicious! Loved hearing you share your family's stories from your childhood and don't worry; your grand kids will soon be there with you and the rest of the family so you can share those memories with them. Also, congratulations on your newest grand baby little Rose she is adorable. Looking forward to deer hunting the movie 2019!
My kids are gone now too. It took some adjustment, but life is good and we are blessed! Rose Dixie will always be known for arriving the day before Duck Season Opener: 2019. :) The fish house looks much easier to deal with than the big old canvas tent.
Another good duck camp in the books. Time spent with family is worth more than the total kill. Too bad Zach and Sarah could not make it but that is the way it works some times. Enjoy the video Joe and look forward to deer season at the cabin and more from the homestead where little ear'd does roam.
Joe, it may seem hot but brother the southeastern US is like an oven. The wife and I went looking for elk today up in the mountains and finally saw 70 degrees on the truck thermometer, it felt great. Finally next week the highs will be in the mid 70s in the valley around east Tennessee, man I'm looking forward to it. The water temp on the lakes are still low 80s and I'm ready to catch some smallmouth, maybe in a couple weeks the topwater bite will crank up. As always, great duck hunting movie, thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks Joe. Too bad none of the kids could make it but life has obviously gotten busier for them. You sure do put an awesome camp together. Reminded me of the days we used to campout in Missouri a hundred years ago. See you next time. Good luck with the camera.
Hi Joe, it puts a tear in my eye when I hear what your dad told you that its been since 1912! that is unbelievable. I hear ya when your loved ones are not around to hear your Dad reminiscing about old days, heck I don't even no your dad and I wish I was at that fire! So your job Sir, is to make sure your loved ones know about his past , so this awesome tradition continue !
Man this makes me wanna go camping! That tent looks so cozy and comfy especially on a cold night, with a fire built and the sound of wood popping as it burns.
Awesome video Joe. Congrats again to Zach and Sam on the birth of Baby Rose! A grandpa again. Just think, shortly you will be able to have the grand kids enjoying the outdoors as well! That is when the real fun begins!! Keep the videos coming Joe. They are always enjoyable. Today is my duck/goose opener. Started with no duck sightings and only a couple of geese but no volunteers for the freezer LOL. Leaving right now to try for the afternoon hunt. Cheers Joe.
Good luck and thank you. I will be up to the Tent next weekend. IF there are any ducks around (you never know up there, it is not at all in any flyway) I will be hunting them.
It was cool seeing you drive through Garrison my folks live about half way between there and brainerd just off 18 brings back some good memories thanks for sharing.
Thank you Joe for including us in your adventures. So happy that your dad made it up there. Your new grand baby so beautiful, just like the rest of your kids and grand kids so wonderful and beautiful. God Bless!
Love the family history and the old stories :) My older family is gone now but glad I was there to hear the stories/tails of mostly deer hunting and fishing! I always asked about the hunts before my time glad I did learned my Aunt Linda always out did the boys. :)
I enjoy watching your presentations. Very interesting indeed. I also love the ritual and dedication to your Grandfather with the Red Paraffin Lamp. Very touching indeed Respect ✊Ken Australia 🇦🇺
Great video I did dishes and got supper ready watching it. Congratulations on the new grandchild exciting time. We just finished a moose we had two tags at our camp and filled both with two good bulls I got a video up of our hunt no action shots though. You're smart for videotaping the old stories now you can pass it down. I wish I would have videoed my grandfather when I used to sit with him in his sun porch and listen to stories. Once again great video.
Joe I want to thank you for all the work you put into the videos. Not all of us have the years of traditions that you and your family do. I love to hear the stories. I am spending a lot of time solo on my hunting property basically doing what you do at the tent. I love it!! Keep em coming man!! Jeremy
The perfect way to spend time whilst the wife is soaking up her Strictly Come Prancing tripe. Congrats to Zack and Samantha on the arrival of little Rose and thank you Joe for sharing your duck hunting adventures with us, it's really appreciated
Fantastic Joe! I look forward to your duck and deer videos all year. Congratulations on the grandbaby, a few years down the road and you can pass your knowledge down to your grandkids on duck opener!
How precious are those stories your dad told. Treasure that video! I'm around your age and I remember my dad and his buddies sitting around telling stories of their time in WW 2. (My dad's favorite was when he and his best friend dressed up as women to get into a ladies only dance on the airforce base...stockings, lipstick and all...it was hilarious! Only he could tell it right, though!) How I wish I'd recorded those stories! There's so much I don't remember and now they're lost forever. Record as much as you can! Great video :)
My Fitbit tells me I’m sleeping during the times I watch your videos, because they de-stress me so much. Thanks for sharing, Joe. And congrats on another grand baby
feeling melancholic Joe , its great when you have family with you and it wont be long before the grandchildren will be hunting with you or at least going to the camp and enjoy the time with your dad, my dad passed 4 weeks ago so I am looking after mum, cheers from Scotland
When I first started following your channel I didn't even watch the duck hunting videos because not being a duck hunter, I just wasn't interested. Now they've become some of the best videos of the year for me. Good job and thanks for all the work involved
Beautiful area to camp and wonderful tradition but the only thing I would have done different is bring my fishing rod. If the ducks didn't fly spinner baits would
I look forward to this video every year. Next up, DEER HUNTING 2019. "The Movie" , my favorite one of all. Thanks again Joe, Take care, and congratulations on the new granddaughter
Congratulations to Zach and Samantha , baby Rose is beautiful. You have to keep the family tradition going, I too went to annual duck camp , Just me and the dog this year but there is always next year. Love your videos Joe , helps to keep me inspired as well.
Thank you for sharing. Congratulations on the new addition to your growing family. Great video as always!!!!!!! Hopefully you got great audio of the stories. I agree it is different without the children, but now you have the stories saved so they can listen to them anytime and over and over.
Best duck hunting vid yet, Joe! Don't be sad about the kids missing this year, they have their ways and will be back. They won't miss their legacy because you're leaving it for them, and for us all, with these wonderful videos for which I am very grateful. Little Rose will watch them one day soon, of herself one whole day old. She'll come after you, Joe, oh yes she will... LOL!
Yeah you got yourself a duck. I love duck meat especially on a stick with barbecue sauce on it. Delicious. I want to wish you luck in all your duck hunting days.Good Luck.
Love the new tent. You should have stayed in your dads camp since you were both alone this time. Whats with the weather? 80 is so hot. With temps like that someone will need to make a ice run. I guess the nights cooled off, you put on jacket. Oh a fan will be nice. Never seen you with fan before. The cat tails are high, good cover. What a great weekend. So much history there with family and old friends. Thanks for sharing
Hi Joe. Great video. This is Chris and it was great to meet you and say "hi" to the guy behind all the great videos. Until we run into each other again, good hunting, fishing, and health to you and your family. It was surreal hearing my name in your video.
Thank you Chris. It was nice meeting you two and my dad liked talking to you two as well. Maybe I will see you up there next year. I bet you know the best places to fish on the lake since you have the place on the south side.
Great Video...pretty soon the kids will be up with the grands in tow. Stories were the best part of being with my dad...I learned he still had the kid inside him...lol
This was a bit more bush-crafty, I like it. Smart using the fishing hut as a tent. Glad you shared these sweet moments of your dad talking and telling stories. You are blessed to hear that kind of history. It was also nice to hear your stories and memories as well. Looks like you had good times around the fire with a coldie. I love that you remember your grandpa with the lantern every year. Very special. The food made me hungry as always. Great Video. Thanks for sharing.
Hey, Joe--if you ever decide to give another camera a bath, pull the battery, wipe everything down and pack it in rice, or better yet, silica gel. Whenever I buy something that has those silica gel/dessicant packs, I open them and throw them in a jar for that purpose. Don't even think about turning on the camera for a week. If there is the slightest bit of moisture inside, it'll short out your electronics.
I know how you felt without Zach & Sarah in hunt camp this year Joe. I went through it a few years ago. They'll be back, it probably killed both to not be there this year. The flip side is just wait until the grand-babies are able to come to duck camp! Thanks for bringing us along for the journey!
I enjoy watching you put the lantern out in memory of your Grand Dad!!!...Don't worry about your children either. They will be back and will bring their little ones too!!!... I love seeing your videos!!! Thanks for sharing.... It 95° here, in East Central Alabama, not supposed to be. Should be 79°. We have maybe 10 brown leaves!!! LOL! In 2 weeks it's supposed to be 70°/50°.
I enjoyed this greatly... Also, a note about your video "style"... I LOVE it. You actually show what you are talking about and what you are looking at. So many other outdoor people just show themselves talking the whole time. Thanks, and keep the videos coming.
Lot of effort for not much reward but that is hunting for you these days. Ducks and wildfowl seem s to be pretty savvy as to when its safe and not to fly into open waters. Cheers Joe for sharing.
Loved it. Thanks for taking all the time it takes to shoot edit and post. I love hearing about the long tradition you and the family have and how hunting openers bring you all together year after year.
Never a disappointment. Duck Opener 2019 is in the book. Nothing against going solo in my opinion. Nicely done, bummer on camera and congrats, Mom,Dad and Grandparents. Great ones too!.
Congratulations Joe! She's precious! Very happy for Sam & Zach! Enjoyed Duck Hunting with you & your family. You will have plenty of stories to share with your children & grandchildren. It's not the same with out our kids, they get caught up in their life kind of makes you wonder how we found time to do our family gatherings some years. Maybe next year! God bless & be with you & all your family.
Thanks for taking us along and whatever you do hang on to the tradition of your trips they are great memories. My family members started not going to deer camp each year now I am the only one that goes and it is not the same.
It’s so good to see it rain,,it hasn’t rained here in Western NC for seven weeks,, bow season came in September third and I have not even thought about going because of drought
Joe, Congratulations grandfather. Thank you for posting this movie, these are always epic and enjoyable for me. Wonderful to see and hear everyone around the campfire. I have a feeling that you’ll need a bigger tent in the coming years and a lot more pork steaks. In the blink of an eye, Xander and Baby Rose will be old enough to come along and maybe cook hot dogs on your island.
Really love these videos Joe. Good luck with the camera and am already looking forward to the Deer Hunting prep and Deer Camp videos! Our Archery Season starts in two weeks with Gun season in Upstate NY in November and then the Mass Shotgun/Muzzloader season in December! Can’t Wait!
I love seeing your video!!! Get rid of the Rem Oil and look at G96, way better for you semi-auto. My boys and I have similar traditions. I am looking to do more of a camp outing. Keep up the great work!!!!
Had the same luck last weekend. Too warm yet. Congrats on the new addition! Love the stories on this movie. That is my favorite part about fall! All the old stories. Take care.
Congratulations again on the newest addition. Hope the camera drys out. Still in the 90's here. Very hot. Broke a record here today. My dad was an avid hunter and would love these videos. Thanks for sharing.
Have you drove between kelliher and Baudette? Nothing but flat peat bog. I think that’s gotta be worse than 169! At least on 169 you have traffic! Love the videos joe!
Another Great Video, Joe I don't know where to send $20 haha, But I did watch all of the Movie including the ads... Looking forward to the next Video.. Thank You
Awesome video Joe! Oh, that duck looked delicious. Love me some wild duck (especially if wrapped in bacon!) I'm glad to see your dad is doing well and congrats on your new granddaughter!
Another great Video Joe, im sure Zach and Sarah will be back in 2020. We have nothing like this over in Ireland. Keep up the great videos, its brilliant entertainment!
I have the same camp kitchen. Right now we are using it in our house that Bill is building since he doesn’t have a kitchen in yet. Hopefully soon I will have a real kitchen
I lost my mother in March. Keep the home fire burning for your father. It is lovely that he shares his memories with you. Hold each word he speaks with reverance and remember to pass those stories on to each member of yoru family.

Your Dad is a good man and really loves you! that was really sweet how he walked over to your camp and checked on you. He knew you were missing the kids. Lots of changes in your life the last few years.
He’s been there , done that! So he can relate!
Joe. I am new to this channel. Where is the children’s mother?
Your story about the younger generation missing out When I was in my 20s I did not have a care in the world of listening to old stories and now I’m in my 40s my grandparents are longer here and I would love to sit by the fire and just listen people like your dad talk and tell stories.
I love your early morning and late night footage while dark... Reminds me of when we used to camp and hang around the fires...
Thank you for the very nice comment. I am looking forward to when they come back up again.
Thanks to you, Zach, and Sam for the video of Rose the day after she was born. This is the first time I have watched this video. Doesn't seem like a Duck Camp video without Sarah and Zach.
AWW it won't be long and you will have the grand babies up there teaching them !
I am still glad you did your trip alone. It sucks the Kiddos had alternate Circumstances, although understandable ones, but I appreciate your time and bringing us along with you. I always enjoy! Thank you and Congrats on your new Granddaughter Rose!
Those stories your dad was telling for an hour is pure gold !!! Please share that footage !!! Begging you Joe !!! Love his stories !
Sarah I've watched about a dozen times. Please do whatever you can to clear your schedule this year to make it to duck camp with your dad. Yes Dale, That lantern is burned every year remembering my Grandfather. My Dad's Dad. He was always in duck camp until he passed away years ago.
Yes! I've been waiting all year for this! I can't wait for the deer hunting movies! 😃
Joe I missed hearing you say, "Sara it's 4:30 time to get up". It was so quiet in your camp this year without them there with you. That more like Deer hunting
I watch this opening weekend of duck hunting every year as if I were part of the tradition
Hi Joe, it puts a tear in my eye when I hear what your dad told you that its been since 1912! that is unbelievable. Tank You for a nother good movie . Congratulation to Zack and Sam on the new arrival and Grandpa Joe .

Good luck and thank you. I will be up to the Tent next weekend. IF there are any ducks around (you never know up there, it is not at all in any flyway) I will be hunting them.
Rose heard the ducks calling and she came forth. Love to you all. She will be the best duck caller I think. better start carving her some calls.
It was cool seeing you drive through Garrison my folks live about half way between there and brainerd just off 18 brings back some good memories thanks for sharing.

Thanks again Joe! I appreciate your dedication to tradition and glad you mentioned the point about passing on stories to the next generation!
Beautiful little girl, congrats on the new blessing in your family!!

Watching the Red Lantern light up is becoming part of my yearly calendar also.
When I first started following your channel I didn't even watch the duck hunting videos because not being a duck hunter, I just wasn't interested. Now they've become some of the best videos of the year for me. Good job and thanks for all the work involved
Definitely weird not hearing you say "Zachary Sarah, it's 4:30 time to get up"
Congrats on the baby! May her life be amazing god bless the family
Thanks Joe, the reminiscing of old hunts and all of it, it was like I was there!
Beautiful area to camp and wonderful tradition but the only thing I would have done different is bring my fishing rod. If the ducks didn't fly spinner baits would

Seems like a lot of trouble for one duck. Still a good video, Joe. Thanks
That duck melted in your mouth...
And every hunter knows it
Its Minnesota.. total joke of a place to hunt ducks
Best duck hunting vid yet, Joe! Don't be sad about the kids missing this year, they have their ways and will be back. They won't miss their legacy because you're leaving it for them, and for us all, with these wonderful videos for which I am very grateful. Why do I love this so much? It reminds me of my dads love for hunting and fishing. Thank you for sharing your experience!
Yeah you got yourself a duck. I love duck meat especially on a stick with barbecue sauce on it. Delicious. I want to wish you luck in all your duck hunting days.Good Luck.
I love that these annual videos come out a few days before duck opener in Eastern Canada.....great way to start the season and get me pumped!

Thanks for sharing the history of duck camp
I remember the noon opener also
Brings back old good times

I think the red lantern represents Joe's Grandpa
This was a bit more bush-crafty, I like it. Smart using the fishing hut as a tent. Glad you shared these sweet moments
of your dad talking and telling stories. You are blessed to hear that kind of history. It was also nice to hear your stories and memories as well. I know how you felt without Zach & Sarah in hunt camp this year Joe. I went through it a few years ago. They'll be back, it probably killed both to not be there this year. The flip side is just wait until the grand-babies are able to come to duck camp! Thanks for bringing us along for the journey!
Thank you so much for sharing Joe!
The red barn lantern -
I think that's a beautiful tradition, Joe...
Been subscribed for a long time, keep doing what you are doing. Love watching your duck hunting movies every year. Congrats to Zach!!
great job on the movie joe good to see your dad out hunting look like he is doing well
Great video again Joe. I especially loving hearing the old stories your dad tells. Keep up the great work
“Time to break camp and head south”. Saddest words ever! When we camped a lot, I’d tell myself I had to go home to get ready to go again!
Can’t Wait!
Congratulations Joe n Melissa ( Grandpa n Gramma!) Congratulations Zach n Sam! Shes beautiful folks.....!

That was so much fun!! Thanks for taking us! :) Great video!
Have you drove between kelliher and Baudette? Nothing but flat peat bog. I think that’s gotta be worse than 169! At least on 169 you have traffic!
Love the videos joe!
