Great idea with the reference point marks Chris.
I feel your pain with the hydraulic fittings. Whenever I go to the implementdealer needing fittings and they start talking JIC, NAE, NPT,... I look them dead in the eye and drool on their shoes.

I was wondering how your rear blade is working now that you have hydraulics on it. How does it compare to your box blade for doing a finish grade on your gravel road. I’m a retired Operating Engineer Local 12. I ran a few different brands of skip loaders throughout my career but never used a blade mounted on the three point hitch. Most of my career was spent on excavators and backhoes. I enjoy your work and am seriously considering getting the LX2610 with backhoe, box blade for working on our 4.42 acres in Cochise County Arizona. Seeing your blade has me thinking I might need that too. Thank you for sharing your experience with your 2610. Old dogs like me can always learn something new. Never stop learning.

Sorry for my delayed reply Cory, somehow tour comment slipped by.
I still primarily use my EA box blade for road work, but I use the RB1672 for reclaiming materials from the road's edge, maintaing ditches, and the occasional snow removal.
What I can say is that life is MUCH easier and more efficient with the hydro option! I would definitely opt for the RB1672 over the RB1572! Good luck!

Hey there, dontou have video on how the blades work. I'm hoping it would make a type of road grader. Scrape the dirt to fill in pot holes, grade dirt into a crown possibly, then add gravel, scrape the gravel in the future to fill in potholes. I dont think a land plane or box would work for my compacted dirt road unless I dragged it with some sort of road drag scraper to tear up the dirt first. Two 4x10 I-beams chained to my truck didnt work even w tires on top. Plus I'd like to angle dirt towards the center, etc

I don't really have a video about how the different blades work, although I did do a video (#013) about using my box blade. I can tell you that I use that to do exactly the tasks you describe on our VERY hard packed road. That's not to say sometimes it struggles to break through, but it does so much better than the plain scraper blade. In those cases, I try to wait until a day or so after a good rain before attempting the work. Also, in my experience, to really repair a pothole requires digging it out with the loader before filling it in. Just filling it with gravel will solve the issue temporarily, but they will just keep coming back.
      Hope that helps. 👍

Where did you get the sleeves to cover your hoses Chris? That is a great idea.

Hi Chris: I think you suggested at 2:12 that you have a float valve on the outside pair of your two sets of rear remotes and that you ideally want to plug your hydraulic toplink into that float valve pair. I think I have the same Kubota rear remotes on my LX2610. My dealer told me they do not have a float function. Your other rear remote video explains that there are 2 valve options (thanks). However, TTWT has responded to various questions from his viewers and has said the hydraulic top link does not work with float valves. I am confused. Can you provide any other thoughts/observations? Love these videos.

I have not heard Tim talk about this specifically, although I admit that after I purchased the top link I did wonder about it. I have not tested it to be sure. As to the valves, the 1st position valve is always a bidirectional valve. For the 2nd valve you can spec the float detent or another bidirectional. Apparently yours was spec'd with the latter?

@@watershedoverlook Unfortunately my dealer did not give me the rear float option. Thx again for your video and comments.
