70 YEARS AGO THE ROCK AND ROLL WAS BORN !!!
THANKS ELVIS !!
Huh? he was born 89 years ago..
@@Diana-hz8rf This song first was recorded on July 5th and played on radio July 7th 1954, which was 70 years ago. Elvis wasn't a rock star at his birth in 1935.
This song started it all. A legend was born.
You are a Elvis geek like me
And is good very good
elvis is freaking awesome
vulcanman64 And the man who they took the song from got nothing.
hahaha no.
I think this guy’s gonna be a legend. He has potential
You just made laugh pretty hard. I liked your comment!
Good ballad singer.
HE IS A LEGEND!!!!!!
The king of rock’n’roll
Elvis Aaron Presley
(January 8, 1935 - August 16, 1977)
He was born in 1935 and died in 1977 he’s BEEN famous since 1956
He is already a king of rock n roll.
This is the first record I bought of Elvis in 1956 when I was 13 years old, I have every recording he made in my collection.
Very cool. You lived the history. My mom told me how, when she went to her friend’s house, she heard this powerful song on the record player. She implored her friend, “Who’s that?” Her friend replied simply, “That’s Elvis.”
You are one old fella
Mate, you need to start a social media channel talking about music history and your experiences please? You've lived a long life through a lot of great generations and we need to hear all about it!
Having Fun With Elvis On Stage?
You were born in 1943💀💀💀💀
People today don’t even understand how important this song was when it came out. It opened a lot a doors and influenced most of the amazing talented musicians that came afterwards in the 60’s and 70’s.
Beautiful sentiment of a local driving down, on a sunny day everything's gorgeous and the future is optimistic and bright. It's a whole world he brought the listener.
Yes, important Elvis Presley's first records back in 1956, Elvis Presley a awesome singer
Congratulations, you seen the movie and you’re trying to think you’re an expert. You go glen coco
And importantly it still sounds great, and surprisingly modern. I haven't heard this for well over twenty years and I am genuinely stunned at how great it sounds right now. Remarkable record, and remarkable singer. Will be listening to a lot of early Elvis these next days. Always massive fan of Mystery Train and Heartbreak Hotel, but in recent years seemed to overlook the others (I've been too long down the Jazz end of the street...)

Damn, his voice sounded modern back than it still so to this day, not a bit dated. That’s what I call talent and gift.
He had an amazing voice
If this doesn’t sound dated then what does… it sounds nothing like modern vocals
@@nathank6468 probably because modern artists only use that garbage sh1t autotune that makes all vocals sound so artificial and cheap. So in that way, yes, his voice was definitely "dated" 💀

what are you talking about? it CLEARLY sounds like it was recorded in the 50's. Fanboys are some of the most ignorant people on earth...
People went nuts went this was played on a blues show. They went ballistic when they saw him live just after this. He was an international sensation within 24 months of this airing.
And only 19 yrs old. Amazing. My boy… my boy.

White boy singing like that! In 1954, this was as laid back as getting a wisdom tooth pulled w/o anesthesia.
@@figure4facelock239 facts
Yes I agree, and Elvis Presley a awesome singer
it has an intensity vocally that had never been heard before in any style music. It's something about hanging back and not coming in til the last second on each phrase that makes it sound sharp and impassioned plus he is singing up near the top of his range but staying perfectly in key which gives a sense of great resolve.
@@joejones9520spot on
Elvis Presley was the most influential artist of all time. Some people try to argue but no one else is even close. He made rock and roll popular which had a huge influence on Buddy Holly, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Eagles, you name it. Rock and roll eventually led to heavy metal. Black Sabbath is considered the first metal band and they were influenced by Elvis. Lead singer Ozzy Osbourne once said that listening to Elvis growing up inspired him more than anyone else to become a musician. Elvis impacted and changed music like no one else.
Idk, R&B is a main influence of both rock and rap, which is the dominant music genre today and arguably has been for a couple of decades. Whoever the Elvis equivalent to R&B is is probably higher up on the influence scale.
100% true. People before Elvis just stood there and did nothing, when Elvis came nobody had seen anything like that and after a while Elvis became the new norm and everyone, literally everyone follows and copied Elvis after that and got into music bc of Elvis.
@@mitchross4002 Had nothing to do with Rock rnb and so on. Before Elvis there was nothing like him, all the famous people back then just stood there and did nothing just sang and acted around the civil norm. Elvis was the first ever super star like the ones we see today that went outside the civil norm and is soly responsible what came after him, Elvis was the new standard, the new norm and when he came into the sceen also changed the whole music industry and American culture how people dtessed, how they saw sex, how they had their hair eveything. Only people who was outside the norm was black people he got inspiration from due to living with black people as a kid but main stream the masses never saw them bc their kind of music was pretty much out lawed and not accepted so when Elvis came he opened all those doors for black people to play their music so the mainstream could hear, even many black artist tried to be like Elvis after that with the hair and everything. With all that the Beatles came and all the rock bands, was it not for Elvis who started to get that kind of music to the masses the whole history of music would looked different bc they all got their inspiration from Elvis and remember Elvis did so much more than rock & roll.

Love this song, it's simple but Elvis's voice makes it beautifully melodic 🥰
Elvis, 19 Scotty & Bill recorded this song on 5 July 1954.
By combining this old blues song with hillbilly & Country, the trio literally created Rockabilly- the Big Bang of rock and roll and the world was never to be the same again. The song was originally written and recorded by bluesman Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup on 6 September 1946 one of Elvis’s biggest early inspirations.
The king Of Music, The Rock, Rockabilly, Country, Gospel, Rhythm and Blues, halls of Fame. Nobody else has ever done that.

This is what the birth of rock and roll sounds like.
With all respect, Ike Turner didn't usher in the era of rock and roll, or for that matter any other era. Because, rock and roll isn't only a genre, it was in an era!!!! Nice try!
Elvis Presley's inaugural song! It all started with this one, ladies & gentlemen!
At Sun Records in 1954, Sam Phillips recorded & produced Bill Black on double bass, Scotty Moore on lead guitar & Elvis on rhythm acoustic guitar & vocals. The magical recipe for a groundbreaking masterpiece😎👍
Still the peak. You knew the world shook on it's axis when the guitar started
I particularly love this song, along with the way he sings it. (It's amazing!). And adding that to the mixed elements of Country and Jazz is perfect! 💀🎸🤘🏼
Country, Gospel, Blues and many other genres. He is the real King.
Love this song! Damn, young Elvis shows his raw talent.
My favourite Elvis song. The song that started the cultural and musical revolution, he truly fathered most of the music today with this song. So full of potential at this time, truly on the precipice history.
THE BIRTH OF ROCK N ROLL 1954 WHEN ELVIS INTRODUCED THIS SONG
Actually, it was Mr. Crudup who introduced this song 😊:
ruclips.net/video/LtHW8wpDjkg/видео.html
The birth of Rock N roll was when white people decided they wanted to steal black 40s and 50s Rhythm and Blues and rebrand it Rock and Roll. Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup released this 1946 and it sounds the same, except Big Boy's version is better with drums kicking in to make it sound way more R and R than this.
The time when Elvis never knew how famous he would become...
The Colonel took Elvis ‘ career and molded it straight into Rock and Soul music along with the Jordanaires who were a perfect compliment to his sound.
Just got back from watching the great film! They did a great job covering the song
Birth of Elvis, birth of Rockabilly.
Marco Medrano That started at least a decade before.
Give me some examples. I'd love to hear them.
Marco Medrano " The Maddox Brothers and Rose were at "the leading edge of rockabilly with the slapped bass that Fred Maddox had developed".[15][16]Maddox said, "You've got to have somethin' they can tap their foot, or dance to, or to make 'em feel it." elele in the comments there was many others... just Google origins of rockabilly.
Very, very interesting stuff. I stand corrected. Thank you very much for sharing. The Maddox Brothers and Rose developed a very cool sound, sort of country with a hop. You can hear the influence it had on Elvis, Carl Perkins, as well as Hank Williams.
Devin, ELVIS gave birth to ROCK A BILLY. Carl Perkins added to it. Well, the MADDOX BROTHERS and ROSE never had a hit. THAT'S ALRIGHT was the SHOT heard around the world.
This Song And a young man from Tupelo Mississippi changed the world forever. His name is known all over the world as ELVIS !!!
Elvis was at the good place at the right time. He was generous towards his fans. He was a wonderful entertainer. He was good looking and good signer. He was the first to put rock and roll on the map.
Thank you Arthur Crudup for writing this song back in 1946.
Elvis voice at 19 years! The beginning of Revolution !
The birth of Rock & Roll.
@Richard Zcent
Elvis brought R&R to the world. He took country, rockabilly and blues music and sang with a god given voice. Also having Scotty’s guitar ability didn’t hurt either. Yes Haley and Berry were singing before him but again Elvis brought it to the mainstream. So he gets the credit. Just think if it wasn’t for Elvis nobody would know who mama Thornton was and many other great black blues singers/writers. Remember they also got royalties due to Elvis singing their songs.
To think a less than two minute song inspired by his mother is what got his long term career started. May he Rest In Peace
The legend that is Elvis Presley!

40 years today, the King left us...may you rest in peace Mr. Presley.
Scottie, Bill and Elvis took this old bluesy song and turned it upside down and blended country and western, along the blues, and make it an acceptable and pop sound that was pleasing to the masses and created Rockabilly as well. This can be considered the 1st pop sound of the modern era.

What do you admire most about Elvis
On the night of July 7, 1954, Memphis disc jockey Dewey Phillips played a brand-new recording of the song “That’s All Right” sung by 19-year-old Elvis Presley, who lived there in Memphis. Right away, listeners starting calling, demanding that he play it again, asking exactly what kind of music it was - blues? rock ’n’ roll? - and wanting to know more about the singer.
Dewey played the song fourteen times that night. During one break, he called the Presley home, wanting to get Elvis down to the studio for an interview. Elvis, who’d been told that his record might be on the radio, had been too nervous to listen. “I thought people would laugh at me,” he later explained. So he’d gone to the movies.
Dewey asked his mother to find him, saying, “I played that record of his, and them birdbrain phones haven’t stopped ringing since.” Mr. and Mrs. Presley hurried to the theater, searched the dark rows, found their son, and hustled the boy off to WHBQ for the interview.
As a child, Elvis Presley soaked up gospel music at church. He listened to country music on The Grand Ole Opry radio show, blues singers on the streets of Memphis, spirituals at tent revivals, symphony orchestra concerts in the park, opera on the family’s wind-up Victrola.
“What kind of singer are you?” the manager of a Memphis recording studio asked him when he made his very first record. “Aw, I sing all kinds,” he answered. “Who do you sound like?” she pressed. “I don’t sound like nobody,” he insisted.
His answer was more than youthful boasting. Presley’s unabashedly original style embraced all kinds of American music and crossed all borders of race, class, and region. As biographers have noted, that democratic principle of his music helped win legions of fans.

She loved his music 🎵🎶.. and throughout the times when I was growing up I would often buy her little memorabilia of Elvis whatever it may be I ran across and she kept them until she was gone but anyway it wasn't until after her passing that I listened to Elvis for the first time and saw what a extraordinary resilient human being gentleman that God created but it was sad because the fast lifestyle that goes with Fame catches up to you sometimes and ways that you might not think it would anyhow it doesn't take away from the love and admiration that I have for Elvis now not only because my mama passed that on to me out of nine children I now listen to him and it brings me memories of my mama.
