@asurlybarber3620 A small correction. It was Elvis final nr 1 hit in the USA Billboard top 100 anno 1969 but not in the rest of the world. I'm listening to this for my dad that passed away 4 days ago, he loved this song too and I have a small clip of him singing it, I wish I had filmed the whole thing.

Saw the movie today with my daughter, also an Elvis fan, I swear it was the best movie I’ve ever seen. Kudos to Austin for an awesome portrayal of Elvis. He needs an Oscar for this!
Agreed. Awesome film & performance! I was apprehensive of the movie thinking who on Earth could play Elvis. Austin did an amazing job, only paled against clips of the King himself!
This is truly one of the greatest songs ever written. Great voice by the King, great guitar, and so well executed. This song will live on for 100 years.
I love it at the end where the music gets softer and then loud again. By the way, does anyone know where this song is from (I know Elvis usually didn't write his own songs)? Thank you
Absolutely perfect. The music, the beat, the voice. the lyrics, the soul. It just doesn't get any better. So far ahead of his time. He left here way too young.
Reggie Young's guitar really drives this song by setting the foundation. The background vocals, strings, brass; the middle eight and then that great fade-out and fade back in. The whole production is fabulous.
I met Elvis in 1971 and I did like him. I went backstage and I told his bodyguard that I am a Louisiana boy and I want to meet him. He was a cool guy and it seemed like he was happy to meet me. I was really impressed. Thanks, Elvis.
I was thirteen years old in 1976 when I listened to the radio that Elvis died I didn't realized was exactly who he was when grew up I knew what the world legend success full
Elvis had a short sweet dating experience with one, who he sincerely loved. She ended up dating Jerry Schilling and marrying him in '82...at Graceland with Lisa as flower girl.
Just perfect, the powerhouse bass and drums, the backing vocals to die for, his towering vocals, the sudden shift mid-song that let's you get ready for the massive ending with it's fake fade-out and come back, and a song that will last through the years. It doesn't get any better than this.
I watched the movie too. His life was incredibly complicated. Props to Austin Butler spending many months jumping over every hurdle the director threw at him while dangling Austin to spend months watching every video and hearing all of Elvis's songs that he got the job. 💘 GREAT MOVIE!!!
Just another lifeless impersonator. That movie will be shelved and forgotten, within two years, just like all the other 'Elvis movies without Elvis'. GOOD RIDDANCE.
This a perfect track. Every second of Elvis’ vocal is stunning, Reggie young’s guitar is divine, and Crisman’s drum part may well be the best drum performance ever recorded.

My parents never told me about Elvis, but I'm here for my own, discovering the best singer ever!
There yah go Jeff

On August 16 1977 everything changed , the man died , but the legend lives on 😮!!
Elvis got to poke on a fourteen year old?
Tengo 80 Años ...Demi juventud!!🎉
Now I can see why he lives forever...we are all up and listening to him ...an everlasting concert...❤
As a kid, most of us prolly got annoyed how much our parents played music like this, now we cherish those memories and realize those are the best days of our lives

The writer of this song Mark James just passed away. Thank you Mr James for this hit made famous by the one and only Elvis
his own version is what was copied by EP, oddly, to a T almost ... weird !
Oh wow, I always thought Elvis wrote this song for Priscilla when she introduced the idea of a divorce. Thank you for sharing. Props to Mr. James for a beautiful song.
Mark James wrote a number of really good songs, especially in the late 1960s, including for Johnny Rivers.
Peace to you brother
@@ILookLikeDrakeSoYeahI don’t think Elvis wrote any songs.
I just came from watching the movie in theaters! It was amazing! Austin Butler and Tom Hanks gave out great performances! R.I.P. Elvis
Elvis has been a part of my life since the 1963 when I was a teenager. To this day I've been a fan. Undoubtedly Elvis is the undisputed King of rock. The more I listen to him ,the more I am convinced. And it's 2024.
One of the greatest singles of the post-rock era.
My mother had a stroke this year and is almost a complete vegetable. When I was a child she would play this for me and her and set up karaoke to play and sing along with....😭😭😭😭 Things will never be the same and this memory will be frozen in time forever. I love you Elvis Presley and so did my mama . .
:(
I love Elvis presley. The best ever and ever will be 😮

I have to edit this comment because I'm so touched by all your comments, but I'm hopeless at trying to reply, honestly I'm like oh did i reply to that.. music brings us all together it's very powerful. I'm gonna listen to this song agsin.

Lordy i have to edit this comment again because one reply really struck me. They said hope she meets elvis... i just never thought of it that way but thats a wonderful thought isnt it. She's there with her family n elvis... so cool xxx
I am so sorry for your loss. My sincere condolences
I'm so sorry, your Mom had great taste. It's my favorite song too. I told my kids that this is the last song I want to hear when I leave this Earth. God bless you.
Mari-isn't it marvelous the effect music can have on our emotions. There are tears in my eyes as I type just thinking how this wonderful song helped you.
I'm listening to this for my dad that passed away 4 days ago, he loved this song too and I have a small clip of him singing it, I wish I had filmed the whole thing.

Saw it 3x already and I keep picking up stuff I miss. Elvis is and was iconic. Austin butler was unreal...deserves an award...I am 59 so I'm probably picking up where I left off at 14 years...go to the.movie it is incredible...will go again.
Agree I wasn’t sure about Austin Butler being in Dune before seeing Elvis, but he was amazing
Man the movie was amazing !
Saw the movie today with my daughter, also an Elvis fan, I swear it was the best movie I’ve ever seen. Kudos to Austin for an awesome portrayal of Elvis. He needs an Oscar for this!
Have you seen the real life take ones?
Agreed. Awesome film & performance!
I was apprehensive of the movie thinking who on Earth could play Elvis.
Austin did an amazing job, only paled against clips of the King himself!
The kid blew me away. I wish I had seen it at the theater.
This is truly one of the greatest songs ever written. Great voice by the King, great guitar, and so well executed. This song will live on for 100 years.
We still listen to Bach three hundred years later. Elvis will be the same.
@@johannesswillery7855 true, long live the king
Yes, absolutely. It is such an adult song we can all relate to.

Well done The King.
Absolutely perfect. The music, the beat, the voice. the lyrics, the soul. It just doesn't get any better. So far ahead of his time. He left here way too young.
Brightest stars burn out the quickest sadly 😞
I totally agree!!!!😍😍😍😍
I love this song so much. The lyrics, singing, the vocals, the progression. It just hits emotionally in a way very few songs can.
True.
Reggie Young's guitar really drives this song by setting the foundation. The background vocals, strings, brass; the middle eight and then that great fade-out and fade back in. The whole production is fabulous.
I love this song too. There's actually a meaning behind it
True. This song is my favorite
Me emociona tu emoción, bendiciones desde Viña del Mar, Chile.
Why is it the older I get the more I just LOVE and REALLY FEEL his pain in this song?? This song has some really spooky POWER in it.
It's because your getting wiser

I Will Always Love Elvis...! He Was the Whole Package... & His Hauntingly Beautiful Voice Is Second to None...!!!
You are so Lucky,God Bless u to meet ELVIS
My b day is 8/16.
Wonderful memory. You are a lucky person
Evil was a useless evil fo0l, good riddance.
Let the legend live on ❤️💃
The backup vocals are amazing and make the song so great.
In his performance at Las Vegas in 1973, Elvis has such a cute moment with the backup vocalists
Definitely adds another dimension.
Agree
Pretty sure its the sweet inspirations. Whitney Houstons mother was one of them if im not mistaken.
It speaks for itself and it gives us the gift that had blessed him his voice
Love will get vlbetter when we can be together and grow together, we've been trapped in desire. NATURE FOUND US ALWAYS REMEMBER SAGE BEAUTY

It is my all time fave... brings me back to carefree summers as a kid hearing this song on the radio.

I watched the movie too. His life was incredibly complicated.
Props to Austin Butler spending many months jumping over every hurdle the director threw at him while dangling Austin to spend months watching every video and hearing all of Elvis's songs that he got the job. 💘 GREAT MOVIE!!!
Austin Butler did an incredible job in the role. I really enjoyed the movie and have recommended it to quite a few people as a must see!!!
Just another lifeless impersonator. That movie will be shelved and forgotten, within two years, just like all the other 'Elvis movies without Elvis'. GOOD RIDDANCE.
@José David Cortes Garay Go find a sharp point and make yourself useful.
Uhh the performance he did will be remembered forever
@@MachoWrestling101 NONSENSE. It'll be remembered, the same way Kurt Russell's performance will be remembered, which is BARELY AT ALL.
This a perfect track. Every second of Elvis’ vocal is stunning, Reggie young’s guitar is divine, and Crisman’s drum part may well be the best drum performance ever recorded.
I'm 20 and elvis was around during my grandparents generation. I love Elvis Presley his music is awesome and I don't care what anyone says. He is the king and nobody disrespects the king.

Elvis is great there's no denying that. But he's certainly not the "king" of music. He's not even the "King" of Rock N Roll. That title goes to Little Richard.
