I’m a Mercedes fan boy but Mercedes unfortunately uses engines from Renault in their smaller platforms and now they’re going to bringing all the engines down in size and making them hybrids, which it really don’t like, I loved the om606 and om605 turbo diesel era that was some of their best cars and engines in my opinion, sad about the new c63 amg it’s now a 4 cylinder
I have the lx600 and the grenadier. I’ll drive the lx only when i have passengers. Very plush ride. But i’ll drive the IG if by myself. Just love driving it.
Re: the conspiracy theory, they won the JLR court case because the fundamental objectives in building a big boxy 4wd means that it will look like a big boxy 4wd like a G or an old Defender or an old Landcruiser etc. However, Magna was hired because they knew how to do that and of course they are going to use their experience of what works on the G wagon.
Ben, Great video. The G Wagon is simply not within financial grasp for most. The Grenadier, while not inexpensive, is attainable for so many more people. Do you, or any of your subscribers, have any insight if Ineos will partner with BMW so their dealerships can provide service. I’m reluctant to purchase any new vehicle where there is no dealership within an hour.
Would you say the Ineos is a last generation Defender not G wagon.. also Europe has size laws so obviously both the Defender and the G wagon are going to share very similar specs. And the new Gs are bigger than the old ones…
The Ineos is the coolest new vehicle produced in years.
It's funny how Ineos is one of Mercedes F1 team's biggest sponsors but they use a BMW engine

Very fair appraisal in my view. Thank you.
Having owned the old Defenders for over 20 years, and my Grenadier for 18 months, I would say very much more G-Wagon than Defender.
Grenadier looks cool for a suv love it
I like the grenadier for my lifestyle more also has solid front axle. Very useful here in the woods and in the desert
I’ll take a GX550 or LX600 over either one of these but they’re all great choices, the new Defender and new Land Cruiser are sweet too
I agree 👍

@@reneguerrero4657 that’s fair lol, both fantastic choices
Ben, you need to replace your steering stabilizer with the fox ats. Night and day difference in handling.

The front of the grenadier looks like a Plymouth Volare. But I like it.

Thank you for turning off the ADAS before filming.

Grenadier owner forums are reporting failing front drive shafts. Perhaps Inneos should have concentrated in properly built vs over built…
The majority of people reporting fail drive shaft had tye lift added but didn't adjust the casters.
@@peopleschamp7258 It's the use of the word 'majority' that worries me. I'd keep mine stock and hope that means it would be rock solid.
As far as I am aware, reports of failing shafts are still in single figures, so not exactly common.
It doesn't have a steering rack
