Axel Rose has one the most iconic voices of all time.. and Slash is most definitely on the top tier level of guitarist of all time. I love this song so much.. hope you did as well
The smile on your face when slash started the first solo was priceless. The original video had a drive by shooting cut out before the cake was destroyed and the wine spilled turning everything red. That’s why she died.
The short story portrays a rock star struggling to come to terms with the loss of his girlfriend, who committed suicide by gunshot after he repeatedly strayed from their relationship. November Rain is one of the most expensive music videos ever. It was inspired by Axl Rose's troubled relationship with Erin Everly. Some people say that the MVs for “November Rain“, “Don't Cry” and “Estranged” form an unofficial trilogy, though it was never officially confirmed. AXL wrote the song himself. Clocking in at 8.58, the final version of “November Rain” took much the same shape as the earlier 1986 piano demo. But with the band's parts worked to completion and a full string arrangement - orchestrated by Axl himself - bolstering the song, “November Rain” was finally ready.
One of all time favs. The composition of the song, the classic intro, the signature guitar solo, selection of melodies, chords, the amazing lyrics, etc, etc. Undoubtedly the greatest rock ballad ever written. Guns n Roses is a once a lifetime phenomenon. Truly amazing.
Your reaction was spot on. Of course it is a happy/tragic song. Some songs make you happy and some make you sad. But rarely do you get both in the same song. It's what makes it so great. I mean she's tossing her wedding bouquet and it lands on her casket.
This came out when i was like 12 years old. I saw that video on mtv and when Slash came out of that church, a cigarette in his mouth, shirtless, leather jacket and cowboy boots and then started playing his les paul guitar, i knew i wanted to become like him one day. Well, didn't quite make it, guitar playing requires a little bit more than just looking cool. But i do love my guitar, even though i don't have the talent of Slash, i am forever thankful that he inspired me to pick up an instrument.
This song is based on the short story Without You by Del James. Because of the rock star’s infidelity, she commits suicide. At the end of the story he’s playing the title song, a cigarette falls from the table and starts a fire. He continues playing letting the fire consume him. Written by Axl, none of the other band members wanted to do the song because of the symphonic element. The song became a huge hit. 😄🤘
Axl Rose (The singer) wrote this song, it's a song about Love, Pain, and Fear it touches on Mental health and depression, when you break down the lyrics it's quite clear, the guitarist Slash is among the greatest of all time (not the greatest cause that is far to hard to narrow to just one), this band was and is among my favorites from the 80's, but I am old so my band picks start before I was even born in the 70's lol, and as a DJ and high school concert band player back in the day my music tastes have no limits
Greatest of all time is a personal opinion, MY personal opinion, is that Slash is the greatest of all time. And I'm totally ok with anyone disagreeing... they are wrong, but they can disagree lol.
axl was based on the short story 'Without You' by Del James, which is part of the book 'The Language of Fear'. James is friends with Axl Rose, and, in fact, is the road manager for Guns N' Roses...The story basically centers on a rock music figure trying to cope with his life after the death of his girlfriend, who committed suicide. In this regard, from the beginning Axl Rose said that the story was inspired a bit by a relationship he had had a long time before with his ex-partner Erin Everly
The ending part is my favorite part and ironically it's the sad part. I didn't really know it's a love song where he gets married then she dies. Never really saw the music video. That was nice to see.
Wow! Awesome reaction. This was the song that made me a GN'R fan when I saw the music video on MTV around '93, it was on the part that Slash' walks out to do the guitar solo. And that's it. I told myself I want to learn how to play guitar. Kudos to the cute reactor. Love it when you reacted about the build up of the 2nd guitar solo! "Beautiful"! Just like you.
Love your reactions! Guns and Roses was one of my favorite bands in the mid 80's and 90's..Axl Rose has mellowed and is more relaxed and chilled than what he used to be. Love Night Train and Don't Cry. l
This song is actually part 2 of a trilogy based on a short story by Del James called "Without You", to understand it you'd need to read the story. The girl in the video is Stephanie Seymour a super-model who was dating Axl at the time.
How does Slash play his guitar through all that hair? He just does. When you're a truly special talent with that instrument, you don't need to see it, just feel it. And Slash is among the best ever. He may not be THE best ever, but it doesn't take long to call the role in that class.
The girl is then-supermodel stephanie seymour who axl rose was dating at the time. They were briefly engaged (3 weeks) in 1993 when she broke up with him for being abusive. They both sued each other, he claimed she "stole" jewelry, because she didn't return those gifts, including the engagement ring, when they split. She counter sued for abuse.
My 2nd favorite song. Slashes greatest guitar solos in this song IMO. My favorite song is Welcome To The Jungle. Theme song for my Cincinnati Bengals. Who. Dey. Thanks. Great reaction. Very positive message.
As you said yourself, this is a bit about ephemerity of life and all it's shades, happiness and pain. Do what you can to live as happy as you can, we never know when "rain" will drown everything we know.
@@b.bkrueger1394 wrong.. If you want to name it right. G"N'R is Sleaze Metal (Sleaze Rock/Glam Metal) 😊. Subgenre of Heavy Metal (also Hard Rock)l in the late 80ies and early 90ies..
Great reaction. As several others have already noted, the other two songs in this trilogy (Don't Cry and Estranged) are definite musts. If you dare to delve into territory very few reactors have gone to I would highly recommend Coma. Love your channel, keep up the great work!
Hi Bisscute, Slash the 'curly headed guitarist' who is that brilliant. has stood next to fans in mens' packed stadium toilets, astonishing them, having a wee and chatting with his fans. He is jaw dropping laid back artist, very chilled out, who keeps it real.
Great reaction… its adorable the way you say…(Honestly….. probably) this is a classic one surprises and arises different feelings. Loads of efforts and individuality of each band member
You're reactions are so charming! While I'll always love rock music my current preferred genre has shifted to rap but Gun N' Roses will forever be my favorite music artist of all time and this is my favorite song by them! It might be in the comments somewhere here but the song is part of a trilogy of songs, "Don't Cry" being the first, this song being the second and "Estranged" being the third. But the music video is also inspired by a beautiful short story titled "Without You" by Del James. I'm commenting before the end and I can't remember if they credit it or not. Either way; love your reaction, love GnR and just keep doing your thing my friend!
Nothing last forever and we both know hearts can change. No one knows whos coming no ones really sure who's letting go today...I know its hard to keep an open heart..when even friends seemed out to harm you.. powerful lyrics.
for obvious reasons, this is the most visceral real song that G *& R has released it still ranks up there for me to be the most heart-wrench example of love gained and love lost there ever was ..I still cry when I listen to it all these years later
You just has to be the cutest and funniest reactor out there. Love your expressions and comments and the way you talk. makes me smile everytime. Great reaction. One of my all time favourite ballads. This was an amazing journey
Missing alot 90's rock song.. Even our generation still remember all the melody of the solo guitar.. Can you imagine the camera movement at that time without drone and other sophisticated tech nowadays..
The video tells the story that goes with the song. This was what I grew up on with music videos told a story, as did the songs. Good reaction, especially at the end when everything hits.
Because this came out in the video music era of MTV in 1992, when records would sell millions of copies and the music industry would put money$ into the music videos... I don't think we will ever see a music video like this today (which cost 1.5 million $$$) or music this good. Now, MTV has turned into reality TV garbage... records don't sell anywhere near 1 million copies anymore and streaming services pay very little to the artists & record companies... and music videos are made w/ miniscule budgets... and the era of music superstars is gone. Very few artists can inspire what Guns N' Roses did between 1987 and 1993... and music today is so electronic and synthetic (sugar candy easily consumed on earbuds of cellphones). There are no current bands that can do what the classic Guns N' Roses created back then. I mean, we have bands like Ghost, Greta Van Fleet, Rivals Sons, etc... but none are that good, sadly...
11:00 this is so important for having a successful relationship. No matter how much we love another person, we need time apart from that person, because if we’re always around that person, we will become annoyed and build resentment. I’ve been with my girl for almost 5-years now. We deeply love each other and decided early on in the relationship, that we’d never get married, have kids, commingle finances or live together. We’ve both been there and done that. We both do our own thing during the week and on the weekend, we spend time together. I’m 47 and this is the best and most easiest relationship I’ve ever been in. I love her to death. Guys and girls, you don’t have to live with someone in order to love them and spend quality time with them. That’s Hallmark B.S..
There's a rumor that the helicopter-shots at 7:50 were the second take, and Slash played kinda blind because the first pass kicked up so much dust and sand.
Slash guitar solos are amazing in this video 😊 The Meaning of the Lyrics to “November Rain”It digs deep, touching on themes of love's complexities and the unavoidable fact that nothing, not even love, lasts forever. Axl Rose, pulling from his own rollercoaster relationship with Erin Everly, crafts lyrics that strike a chord with anyone who's loved and lost.
Axl's voice is actually a funny story. He is doing a falcetto sound, like a very high pitch version of voice. His actual voice is quite deep. He was doing a audition for a singer role for some band in his early days but they weren't that interested in him until he reached the chorus which he did in falcetto and the auditioners asked him to then do the whole song like that and rest is history. The raspness came later since doing that type of singing a lot damaged his vocal chords, almost preventing him from singing.
Released in 1992, this 'November rain' music video reportedly cost 1.5 million $$$ (one of the most expensive videos ever made) and was based on a story by writer Del James (a friend of the band) about losing a love... There was rain at the November wedding, and a year later, there was rain again at the wife's funeral (Apparently, she took her own life...) The model in the music video was supermodel Stephanie Seymour, who was engaged to GNR singer W. Axl Rose at the time... She was also in the first part of the video trilogy ("Don't cry" by GNR) ... 'November rain' was part 2. Axl Rose was huge fan of Elton John and his romantic piano ballads, and 'November rain' was inspired by his music. By 1993, Axl Rose and Seymour had split up... she sued him in court for abuse and damages... So, part 3 was the GNR song 'Estranged' and Seymour was not in it... it depicted Axl's struggles after losing his love. The other members of GNR were not happy that million$ were being spent on lavish music videos, but there was nothing they could do to convince Axl Rose otherwise. Guns N' Roses were known for their brand of heavy rock music in 1987 w/ their debut album 'Appetite for destruction'... their 1988 EP 'GNR Lies' had acoustic songs showcasing the band's versatility. In 1991, the 2 albums 'Use your illusion' (Vol. I & II) were released, and they were vastly different from the first album... there were heavy rock songs, but there was so much diversity - epic ballads, country songs, boogie rock, punk rock, etc... U noticed the difference in the videos from 'Paradise city' in 1988, and 'November rain' that was shot in 1992... the band did not look the same at all ( 2 members had also left the original Guns N' Roses).
Recuerdo cuando vi este video por primera vez cuando yo tenía como 6 años, por que mi hermano mayor compro un dvd donde traía sus videos más exitosos de GNR y ahora con mis 25 años los sigo escuchando junto con otras bandas de rock clásico
Axl Rose, lead singer of Guns N' Roses, wrote 'November rain' based on a story he had read... The song itself was inspired by the classic epic piano ballads by Elton John. It was originally longer(!) but producers and the band got it edited to 10 mins (Thank God!) 😁
The guitar part alone that's great on all the songs and on this one the sound is wonderful. good advice the experts talk about personal care. take time for yourself.

It is a trilogy of 3 songs, first Dont Cry, then November Rain and finally Estranged. I hope you listen to those songs. Great reaction!!!!!
I saw them last year and they played all three. Was Epic. I favorite song is Estranged, Hands down
Yes and Don’t cry (original) is the “womens” view point and the Don’t cry (alternate lyrics) is the Male’s take both worded excellent
@@rimisark Yep. It's also incredibly fun to play on drums
Estranged is my favorite.

Best voice ever. . .
Released in 1992, this 'November rain' music video reportedly cost 1.5 million $$$ (one of the most expensive videos ever made) and was based on a story by writer Del James (a friend of the band) about losing a love... There was rain at the November wedding, and a year later, there was rain again at the wife's funeral (Apparently, she took her own life...)
The model in the music video was supermodel Stephanie Seymour, who was engaged to GNR singer W.
U noticed the difference in the videos from 'Paradise city' in 1988, and 'November rain' that was shot in 1992... the band did not look the same at all ( 2 members had also left the original Guns N' Roses).
i remember when this was new and MTV was great. me and my cousin watching this on my new 19in TV.
For a LONG time, if not still, this was largely considered the greatest rock song and greatest music video of all time
Now that just blew me away. Miss Biss your reaction to night watch was epic I'm officially a super fan.❤❤❤😮😢😊
Recuerdo cuando vi este video por primera vez cuando yo tenía como 6 años, por que mi hermano mayor compro un dvd donde traía sus videos más exitosos de GNR y ahora con mis 25 años los sigo escuchando junto con otras bandas de rock clásico
Since this beautiful Angel did a fantastic reaction to November Rain I'm hoping she also did or will do one for Don't Cry and Estranged.
Axl Rose, lead singer of Guns N' Roses, wrote 'November rain' based on a story he had read... The song itself was inspired by the classic epic piano ballads by Elton John. It was originally longer(!) but producers and the band got it edited to 10 mins (Thank God!) 😁
yes, it was about 25 mins
Um clipe cheio de detalhes que tem que ser vista com o máximo de atenção.
The guitar part alone that's great on all the songs and on this one the sound is wonderful. good advice the experts talk about personal care. take time for yourself.

My personal favorite song of all time…
not sure if you read these, but if you want to know what's behind this song, it's inspired by a short story called "Without you" by Del James
That adlib of slash was so emotional until the last solo
So glad ya'll FINALLY found their #1 song.
This song is a masterpiece in the age of music videos and MTV would sell the song to millions. Sad it’s not this way today.
