Here in Ireland, pubs, schools museums all closed til 29th. I work in a museum so I suddenly have an insane amount of free time. Originally this game was supposed to come out in march and quite close to my birthday... The gods are sick and cruel. *shakes fist at imaginary deities* CURSE YE! I actually had a dream that Squenix decided to help maintain quarantine and keep people away from Covid, they released ff7:r a month early XD

I saw him live at a KH concert in LA and he ran onstage in crocks and shorts with a suit from the waist up rambling nervously about the fact he had basically sprinted from the airport and how sorry he was. One of the funniest experiences of my life! Probably did this as a favor for a friend within square.

I feel the same but thats not possible cause the game felt like this back then, it wasnt until the PS3 tech demo came out that we started gettin hype for a remake.
Same here I was 7 in 99 beating it my 3rd time each time finding things that I didint kno was in the game took me a 3rd try to get the final summon.

@@gavinerickson9392 a third of a game that is still a lot fucking bigger than 90 % of all the triple A games out there... you cant even begin to compare this game to other games, id GLADLY pay 200+ dollars for the full experience in multiple parts, i hate seeing how developers go all out on a game they know we care about so much, only to have people complain and moan about it being so big and detailed they couldnt fit the entire thing on one disc...
Gavin Erickson where did they announce it’d be a trilogy? Midgar is 10 percent of the original. Since they are expanding greatly on the original story, that 10 percent is now a full 50 hour title. Do you think the other 90 percent will be condensed and cut down into 2 games or do you think they will follow through with what they said and expand immensely on the story? Food for thought and stop spreading false information. My bet is a minimum of 4 games probably though up to 5 games. Thanks

I love how they straight up said the city has expanded but it's not open world. I don't want Midgard to be an Assassin's Creed map, as the demo showed, it's ALL about the DETAIL and the immersion.

I'd like more city open world when I comes to Final Fanstasy it doesn't need to totally accessible but enough to advance the playability around the story or missions added there loads of content spurned from the original hopefully the can add stuff like Crisis Core or Advent Children.

@@gavinerickson9392 It's not an open world game. It might have over-world map but that's it, get into city/dungeon and you got hallway with exportable section so it won't be FFXIII experience. The only open world FF I ever know is FFXV and FFVII definitely not count as one.

AT the Very first, as what PRODUCER YOSHINORI KITASE said , he started to ignite this FIRE and made them all happened. WOW!!!. He definitely heard us and all your grumbles of the OLD FF7 in a more powerful console. All of us really dream of what this game would be like using the latest game engine there is. Video Games makes anything possible where our popular movies has its limitation. Combining a good nostalgia story with the insane capability of CG, these results to an awesome like movie game which is more engaging and immersing than a movie had. Imagine an actor doing that speed, agility and strength swinging the buster sword, that would be awkward to real ones but awesome in cg. One lesson here though that proves who will make it, no doubt to give it to the Japanese GUys. The more they have time, the best result it would be. I dont know of the expense, may be 2 x that of the AMericans top grossing movie I think. CG is really expensive as it goes more definitive and realistic. Imagine Cloud is battling the Scorpion Sentinel with all its destructive explosives, this would be the true image of the Mako 01 reactor will be look like in reality 00:10

I'm normally not one to comment in RUclips for...what I think are pretty obvious reasons...so much hate ya know. But after watching this, any fears that I may have had deep inside about this not being the game we have all waited what seems like a lifetime for, are immediately gone. The amount of love, and...care, and respect for the original in this remake leaves me speechless with every new trailer released. Square has gone far downhill for a lot of people in recent years but I hope this shows them how much they do listen and care about their work. @TroubadorPoet I honestly hope so. So many games have had troublesome development processes and suffered from overreaching ambition/changing directors/new engines/goodness knows. But I've heard great things about FFXIV and everything I've seen about the VII Remake is looking very positive. I don't like thinking of present-day SQEX as a subpar company. I _want_ to feel excited about new releases. I guess we'll all see what happens when Part 1 releases.

The game only goes up to when you leave Midgar. It's going to be amazing, but it definitely won't "redefine" RPG Gaming History. Hopefully it will redefine how SE makes games from now on though.
To me it looks like the type of fighting system they wanted with FF15 but ended up with a pure button smasher for the most part.
Actually it can also redefine the game size, due to the amount of detail and how large the map was.....
As far as I know, GTA V is one of the largest game (at that time) and it already holds 50 gigs of memory....and then FF XV have 83 gigs... And possibly, FF VII remake would have at least 80 Gigs for the first part... And then another 80 Gigs for the second part and that would be a record....

I got a PlayStation on 9/2/97 to play FF7 when stores released it a few days before its official release.
I got a PS5 to play FF7 Remake and Rebirth.
Please give FF6 the same treatment. Stretch it, make it everything we thought it was in our heads, and reintroduce an incredible story and world to a whole new generation of fans.
So glad you did what you did with Remake. You've taken a masterpiece that we've all played and seen before and made it so the feelings and fun was as good, if not better than, the first time we played.
I love these "documentaries" their thinking, and feelings on the subject. I hope lots of ppl will see this and appreciate the shear volume of work that's gone into all this content. Lots of ppl are salty about not being turn based, and thought the original was perfect and remake would ruin it - but perfect is an illusion, it's something infinite, and can always be improved - it's awesome that SE has these incredible directors producers and developers, that can imagine so much more, and bring it to life.
Remake will be everything the original was, and so much more.
I'm torn if i will buy it for ps4 though, rather wait for PS5 version - but i want to play the game so badly 😱
Ps4 will be the ps5 version. The console will be the only difference same as xbox x series
Robert R Ps5 will have backwards capabilities. So they probably won’t make a ps5 version. Part 2 sure, but not part 1.
Hmm, well i mean they ported a 4k/60fps version of FF15 to PC, so they could do that with FF7R too. If they make a PS5 version of FF7R, it could be native 4k/60fps+, and they could throw in improved effects, etc.
But true, i guess it would be sufficient with a PS5 4k "pro patch" that unlock fps, etc.

One should keep priorities right! Play the game as soon as you can, instead of waiting for something you believe might happen in the future. Anything can happen till then! Better safe then sorry! ;)

When it comes to games, you can’t please everyone. There are people who like FFXV and people who dislike Breath of the Wild. People like different things, so just because people like FFXV or KH3 doesn’t mean they will like this game.
As for me, I liked them both, and I have a feeling that I’ll like this game as well! But that’s just me. Maybe I’m overly optimistic about those two games, but I can still see why people say that those games weren’t as good. They had a lot of time, but they didn’t use that time as wisely.
Personally, as long as they can learn from their mistakes and improve upon it, one way or another, I’m OK with what comes out of it. Maybe it means releasing some DLC or making some updates. That’s OK. At least they’re learning and improving upon their failures instead of leaving it be.
I’m probably just rambling at this point, but I thought this had to be said. ^_^; I’ll take my leave.

Sorry bro not gonna happen as much as i like ff7 this year we will have last of us 2 and cyperpunk 2077, the competition for goty will be between these two games, the reason is simple we will have only 1 part of ff7 remake if it was the full game already the competition would be good between those 3 games, still would be hard for ff7 naugthy dog and cdprojektred don't mess around.
Depending on the story and how good the sidequests are, I can still see this winning GOTY even in spite of its multi-game format.

No joke, I've accidentally (honestly) ended up in some seedy places in Japan and it really is accurately reflected in that HoneyBee Inn lobby lol.
Growing up with FF7, as a random Irish guy, it was actually quite surreal when I went to Japan and felt like so many places were familiar because of that game. I can't express how excited I am for this whole project, and they seem to be as dedicated to delivering a fantastic experience as much as us fans are dedicated to loving this universe. What a time to be alive. I couldn't be happier.

This video got me so deep in the feels. I am so happy to live in this period. That Tifa's them...got me so much.
I like how a lot of them repeated similar concepts, really shows they're all on the same page in making this and/or working together very closely. Based on the demo, I'd say everyone represented here was wildly successful in their endeavors! The combat is probably my favorite I've ever played (at least so far!) - not super difficult (unless you're a Kotaku editor) but enough that i think the game will present a challenge...and the flow, nostalgia, music, ambience, environments...everything just made me excited...like EVERYTHING. I saw a Banora apple juice poster and yelled "OH!" and had to tell my girlfriend that's important for later; she's never played any FF7 games.
I'm also waiting to see how Nomura's gonna blow my mind. He's good at that.
I’m convinced that Final Fantasy VII: Remake will go down the P.T. Route, and the first people to complete the game properly get a secret ending which shows a trailer for Part 2 of the Remake, with shots of the entire world.
