I just can't help but cry watching these... Hey! That's so nice to ready, truly. I feel the same way so you put it perfectly, that's why I try to contribute in any way or form to express and share the love to it around here ♥ Thanks to you
Eh, there are many franchises with the same kinf of legacy, for example Dragon Quest, it was the inspiration for Final Fantasy, though it isn’t as succesfull especially outside of Japan. Street Fighter, Castlevania, Metroid, all of them are older than Final Fantasy. Also Mario and Zelda have an even bigger kind of legacy.

If I'll be honest, my favorite introductions to Final Fantasy were VII (original), X, XV and XVI. You just have this air of what's about to happen with Midgar and the opening shot says it all. X, in comparison, has a "calm before the storm" vibe during that introduction, especially with the Summoner's Staff, Blitz Ace and Brotherhood weaponry all sitting at a single rock. XV set you up for this grand adventure as you brave the unknown while bonding with Gladiolus, Ignis and Prompto, and it's all to prepare you for the final battle. XVI is about the same way, but you see Clive suffer loss, guilt and must come to terms with who he is. That standoff with the second Eikon of Fire and the Phoenix is what had me sold on this game in particular, and it just kept getting more badass the further in you were. On top of that, we see Clive take after his mentor and build a place where it didn't matter what you were, but _who_ you were, and where men could live and die on their own terms. I truly think all four of these were my favorite highlights, but XVI set the bar EXTREMELY high, as it's the perfect blend between cinemagraphic and combat - two things of which, if done properly, look astonishing.
I'm soooo curious about Caius now! His voice sounded like the voice of Kain in Dissidia Duodecim and it got me wondering if the same VA played him. I don't have a system to play anything past XII though, ahh. Everything else is too pricey for me and I still wanna play my PS1/2 games via disks since they still work.
My favorite opening has to be VI. It was the first time a game moved me to tears. The music in the opening was beautiful. I never thought I would hear such music coming from my SNES. Terras theme is still my all time favorite song. I first played this when it came out and it is still my all time favorite FF game, and my second favorite SNES JRPG.
I can only watch the first 6 sequences lol, as I am going to play the franchise in order, already completed 1-5 and hope to finish 6 at the end of the year. Every game until now has been a treat and I still have so much to play! Looking forward to it
That is really cool, I hope you enjoy! I actually did the same thing not too long ago. I played only VII for like 10 years before starting my marathon in order. The coolest thing about it doing that is that you can be able to recognize references that they love to do about previous games ♥
Damn the graphics of PS3's FFXIII opening cinematics became today's standard in-game graphics. Back then I was hoping to see that one day and now it's reality
I like it, I loved the visual shenanigans of Time Compression at the end so I'm down for it. And I like that FFX opening (or FFXV if I included Ifrit in it) is something that happens later too
I got into the series during the PS1 era and the intros for 7, 8, and 9 sent me on a huge nostalgia trip for like 5 seconds. For 5 seconds I felt like I was a kid again in my childhood home on a Saturday morning with no responsibilities like bills or rent to pay.
That's amazing, I know that feeling, i'm glad you had it. If you allow me to suggest something similar, maybe taking a break while listening to some tunes like the overworld songs can be nice too!
YES! It's honestly perfect! You get a glimpse at some of the characters without spoiling any plot - you just have an idea of who you're gonna be dealing with, and even then, not everyone is included. You can already tell that the main character is gonna have beef with that other guy, and something's gonna happen with the others shown as well - but is it gonna end happily or in tragedy? Hmm... (note that I'm not using names because I'm saying this as a general comment, so this kind of post could refer to other media as well)
My favorite "omg" moment when watching that intro segment for a 2nd (or 3rd) time after playing through the story, is recognizing who is next to Regis while walking the stairs. Gives me a little bit of goosebumps
Ffxi is the best game of all time, those who've played for more than a month know what im talking about, those who haven't have no idea, it's a lifestyle
FFVIII is probably the best opening. That's how you open a game. FFX though always make me cry even during the opening. But FFX-2 never gets old for me.
Something about how FFV sets everything up with questions to hook you in. With the added music and seeing people react to the basic functions of the world stops working. Its similar to FFI opening, but this is done through the eyes of the characters. And to think it all kicked off with a simple adventurer seeing a meteor falling from the sky. FFV stands as one of the best in my eyes in its presentation. And this opening displays that perfectly. I feel XI captuers that same sort of feeling too. To me, XI is the most "Final Fantasy" Final Fantasy game, in its presintation, themes, and what it repusents.
You notice a lot of "this is the same but presented different" type of stuff with early games or with how many throwbacks and settings they like to make, and V is cute in that sense with the elements and crystals being predominant too. Really cool stuff when you pay attention to it back to back
Final Fantasy XIV ARR has the most beautiful intro of all the chapters released so far, Bahamut Prime is really gigantic when compared to Limsa in the background when he flies over it from afar.
I'm currently on a Final Fantasy kick, been replaying my first Final Fantasy games ever (the XIII trilogy), and I have I, II, IV, VII, VIII, X and XII ready in my library to play, and will definitely pick up the ones I don't have. I've played and beaten the entire XIII trilogy, XV, and XVI, all of which I find to be really phenomenal games, and I really want to experience the rest of the verse!
I'm glad that's the case because let me tell you, me (and a couple of friends I met here) are huuuge enjoyers of the XIII trilogy and it holds a very special place in our hearts, so I'm really glad you have that experience with all of those mentioned. Enjoy the rest! Would love to know your experience (and listen to the OST on repeat, still emotional to me after years of playing em)
@ honestly. All they need to do is remake the 3D/DS version. Keep the CGI but modern, and same with the gameplay, but with better graphics/fidelity/ray-tracing. And maybe better voice actors lol
I'm not surprised given this is Final Fantasy we are talking about, but I didn't know FF11 could get so tragic (and crude) so quickly 😅. I'd love a way to bring it back
Also if you want to play the game as it was back during the 75 era there's a ton of private servers for that haha. I just finished a complete playthrough of the main story for FFXI last month in preperation for the new alliance raid in FFXIV lol. FFXI is not dead. It's very much alive and still kicking.
@@MugiwarasNakama I mean, I personally prefer an offline version or something akin to FFXIV free trials. I don't think I could experience it other way properly for now
@@DroWarriorOfLight I'd love an offline version as well. I'm not really keen on playing on my computer or using my internet for something that - for all I know - would crash or raise my bill super high, ahaha. Even if there are some private servers, it's not the same as holding a device and playing, like on the Switch.
XVI is such a change of tone from XV, especially since it didn’t release too long after all the XV dlc, I love it. Edit: that being said, VIII and X/X-2 will always be my favourites
Pixel Remastered series truly opened up something for me that I've long been avoiding getting into for no reason. FFV PR, my first and most favourite Final Fantasy game so far.
Bless that, I enjoyed V so much and at first it was the fun feel-good vibe and jobs to use, but I ended up enjoying every time of atmosphere and moments there. It's my favorite of the first 6
I also started PR some weeks ago. I was always interested in the classic Final Fantasy games, but without the Pixel Remaster I would not have played most of them. The amount of modernized gameplay and exp/gil boosts made them very enjoyable. Not having to grind for hours, or getting attacked every 5 steps in a dungeon really made the difference for me.
There will be no FF or any JRPG that can beat the intro from VI. At that time it was something unique and special to see the credits rolling in the beginning from a game. Also the snow falling in background with the music while they move to narshe is a unforgettable memory.
Seeing this now shows how God damn good 16 really was. Some things needed to be done better but in terms of scale, narrative, impact and emotion its swells over the competition
And to be fair I kinda butchered that opening, because if I could find a way to add the Shiva vs Titan fight in the opening (without all the talks inside the kingdom and Benedikta and Hugo fondling each other), then imagine how fucking dope it is complete like that
I had a compilation of Summons when XVI was out but focusing only on the ones featuring there. But yeah! I thought about putting ALL the summons and their main attack together, because I like the more obscure ones like the train in FF8 and whatnot. I'll brainstorm some ideas that I could put together
FF13 op cutscene , player's pov 13: Everything happens at once, you're trying to figure out what is happening. And you still have no clue what actually happened for the rest of the game. 13-2: You realize this cutscene barely related to the game because you can't play as lightning. LR: Wow lightning and snow cool showcase. Why hope suddenly change back to kid?? I love ff13
Valid, they are great and probably my first time I was really like "omg, it's surreal to see them in this quality", but if I add those then probably should add more extra opening ones and would be too convoluted (7R, XI XIV expansions) so I force myself to one per game 🙏
I like how from VIII onward you get actual "cinematics" instead of a text-driven scene. I'd say starting with VII, but in reality, you don't get much out of that compared to VIII - where you are introduced to not only the main character, but also someone he soon begins to bond with, along with his rival and ultimately, greatest foe. This was without bringing in the plot, like with Laguna, or even other side characters. However, this doesn't mean that I don't like games like the very first FF and IV any less! Side note: UM IS THE VA FOR CAIUS THE SAME VOICE FOR KAIN IN DISSIDIA DUODECIM???
The English voice for Caius is, indeed, Liam O'brian; and I think he shares that character yes. FF8 is the most "cinematic" or movie-like of them all, even over IX or maybe X, it was pretty magical ♥
@@DroWarriorOfLight Ahh, that's so awesome! I like that even though no villains from 13 showed up in DFFD, someone who voiced one (? I'm assuming for at least most of the game; I never had the proper methods to play) could at least offer his talent to voice another character. Now I'm not gonna be unable to unsee Caius though, when Kain talks, LOL. The voice is a good fit, imo.
Has anyone ever tried doing Voice Overs for the old school Final Fantasy games? Or better yet, has anyone ever wanted to make a TV series out of the old Final Fantasy series? Because I would love to watch them all in today's animation.
I know there are mods of PS1 games that have (fan) voice acting on it, if that's something interesting to look forward to. Maybe not the older ones tho
Hi, I think the video is quite well done, but it has one drawback. Final Fantasy 14 Online is missing the original video. Final Fantasy 14 a Realm Reborn (ARR) is only the new and improved version. That's why I think the original FF14 is missing in the whole thing ^^.
I think that's very valid yeah. I joke about the idea that FFXIV started with ARR just to ignore the dark times (?), but opening wise it could have totally be that instead yes
So, Frodo wakes up after screaming "GANDALF!!" Sam asks him what's wrong... oh wait. Wrong notes... So the guy with the tattoo is ostensibly named Wyvern, and he's being sent to assassinate a Jinchuriki. Well, not exactly. Same basic concept. People transform into the various summons from across the franchise. Less Eikon sapience, though.
Characters being Jinchurikis whose Bijuus are the Summons is a surprisingly accurate way to explain it, and also an idea that feels meant to be for one of the games
Since I had never played X-2, I was LOSING IT over Yuna being a pop star! Now I really gotta get into these, LOL, especially since I still have a PS2 and both games are strangely cheap online - even as a bundle. :o
Omg, I was laughing so hard at the car pushing scene! But also the fact there was a song that wasn't related to the franchise in the background?! I thought I was losing it when "Stranger in Paradise" had a non FF song in its ad! xD

I don't think I could experience it other way properly for now
@@DroWarriorOfLightRetail FFXI is basically singleplayer. There are private servers that give authentic old experience too.
FF X-2 opening was fire . i can feel the early 2000’s again ❤️❤️
Ah Nostalgic days.....love it.
Definitely hear where the Highwind theme took inspiration from in FF2
First, thanks for the video. Second, where is the intro of best final fantasty, I mean about final fantasy tactics. You must add it.
My first game is ff when i elementary school and now i finish it its so cool
Me: Ok video, show me what you've got, let's see if I can give you credit.
Video: starts with a remake version without even mentioning it
If you wanted a 3 second blue screen of the plot of FF1 right into a New game screen be my guest
XIV has the best opening if you understand the context.
Great intro for sure!
There will be no FF or any JRPG that can beat the intro from VI. At that time it was something unique and special to see the credits rolling in the beginning from a game. Also the snow falling in background with the music while they move to narshe is a unforgettable memory.
And none that can beat the ending credits too, if you ask me. Both fantastic directions
@DroWarriorOfLight for me FF VI is the best FF. FF IV (II on snes) was the first rpg that I played. Great games ons snes
Final fantasy VI ❤️❤️❤️
XVI best intro
From a distance the VI opening looked like PS2 quality but then it didn't very suddenly.
Abertura real do 9 é a pré abertura, que música fantástica com gosto de nostalgia
IX was a masterpiece and still IMO the best FF game ever made with VII and VIII followed in 2nd and 3rd!
i dont really like the gameplay, but man that FFVI opening is something else, the tone is so crazy
Seeing this now shows how God damn good 16 really was. Some things needed to be done better but in terms of scale, narrative, impact and emotion its swells over the competition
And to be fair I kinda butchered that opening, because if I could find a way to add the Shiva vs Titan fight in the opening (without all the talks inside the kingdom and Benedikta and Hugo fondling each other), then imagine how fucking dope it is complete like that
Curious - what versions of the games did you use for this?
The pixel remasters first, then for PS1 and PS2 were the original versions emulated instead of the remasters. And for XIII XIV XV were the steam ones
You could do compilations of all Summons, end credits, and humorous moments
I had a compilation of Summons when XVI was out but focusing only on the ones featuring there. But yeah! I thought about putting ALL the summons and their main attack together, because I like the more obscure ones like the train in FF8 and whatnot. I'll brainstorm some ideas that I could put together
I wish the original graphics for each final fantasy would have been used, I think it would have made this video better
FF13 op cutscene , player's pov
13: Everything happens at once, you're trying to figure out what is happening. And you still have no clue what actually happened for the rest of the game.
13-2: You realize this cutscene barely related to the game because you can't play as lightning.
LR: Wow lightning and snow cool showcase. Why hope suddenly change back to kid??
I love ff13
Other Final Fantasy openings: okay
Final Fantasy 16 Opening: TAKE THIS HATES!
FFIX promises a wonderful journey with its starter scene.
Opening for 8, 10 and 14 are the best but for gameplay I wished they kept continuing ff10 though my all time best game ever
FF6 is my favorite game in all time, your opening is top.
Should have used the openings of the 3d remakes for FF3 and 4, they're amazing.
Valid, they are great and probably my first time I was really like "omg, it's surreal to see them in this quality", but if I add those then probably should add more extra opening ones and would be too convoluted (7R, XI XIV expansions) so I force myself to one per game 🙏
The saddest Final Fantasy ending is Final Fantasy X
If you know of World of Warcraft, he is also Illidan Stormrage
Has anyone ever tried doing Voice Overs for the old school Final Fantasy games? Or better yet, has anyone ever wanted to make a TV series out of the old Final Fantasy series? Because I would love to watch them all in today's animation.
I know there are mods of PS1 games that have (fan) voice acting on it, if that's something interesting to look forward to. Maybe not the older ones tho
FFVIII definitely the best OP
Thank you so much for the video 😭😭😭😭 I’ve played 4.5.6.7.8.10.12.13.13-2.13-3.14.15.16
hey thank YOU for watching ♥ That is amazing, I hope that you enjoy yourself if you try 9 😅
You definitely should play the 9 it has very good soundtrack beside the story and character growth
Final Fantasy 6 is the best FF Series. That marching opening scene is legendary and iconic.
Abertura 6
Pré abertura 9
Abertura 10
Perfeitas no quesito música
FFVIII ❤ always my fav
FFX will always be iconic ❤
FF is my childhood, I played all of them and only beaten 5 of them. 😂
What about the DS remakes of III and IV?
Hi, I think the video is quite well done, but it has one drawback. Final Fantasy 14 Online is missing the original video. Final Fantasy 14 a Realm Reborn (ARR) is only the new and improved version. That's why I think the original FF14 is missing in the whole thing ^^.
I think that's very valid yeah. I joke about the idea that FFXIV started with ARR just to ignore the dark times (?), but opening wise it could have totally be that instead yes
FFxi… i used to play that a lot….
Final fantasy X best game EVER
So, Frodo wakes up after screaming "GANDALF!!" Sam asks him what's wrong... oh wait. Wrong notes...
So the guy with the tattoo is ostensibly named Wyvern, and he's being sent to assassinate a Jinchuriki. Well, not exactly. Same basic concept. People transform into the various summons from across the franchise. Less Eikon sapience, though.
Characters being Jinchurikis whose Bijuus are the Summons is a surprisingly accurate way to explain it, and also an idea that feels meant to be for one of the games
the heads in FFs starting at 1:57 kinda look like lego pieces
Not sure if Final Fantasy's 1987 nes/famicom had that opening.
6 and 7 are the best IMO, but 5 is underrated.
like FF6 opening
VIII will forever be my favorite opening but bonus points to X-2 for being my gay awakening *I can hear you*
I feel that's one of the most relatable statements ever lmao
Since I had never played X-2, I was LOSING IT over Yuna being a pop star! Now I really gotta get into these, LOL, especially since I still have a PS2 and both games are strangely cheap online - even as a bundle. :o
FFXV what did you done to me 😭😭
Omg, I was laughing so hard at the car pushing scene! But also the fact there was a song that wasn't related to the franchise in the background?! I thought I was losing it when "Stranger in Paradise" had a non FF song in its ad! xD
Why is it called Final Fantasy if it's never the end? It should be called the Final Fantasy that never ends
