I do deer management on city hunts….I can vouch for the QAD Exodus. Twenty-one deer so far, shot through shoulders, bones, and joints with no damage to the broadhead. I practice with blades that shot through deer, then replace with new or resharpened blades just before I hunt. Love them!!!
@@merrettb.outdoors I shoot the straight back not the barb type. It will sort of cube up an area if you keep shooting the same spot. A two blade double bevel probably tears up a target the least.
I went through a coyote and stuck in a tree, and it dinged 1 blade. But boy did it leave a heck of a trail on my buck. 2 seperate 1 foot wide paths solid red, entry and exit. Love them and will be my go to for a long time now.
Exodus is a tank. There isn’t a broadhead test video out there that they don’t do well. Most of all, there is no shortage of comments/stories from people with success. The blades are thick and strong. Resharpen easily.
Loved the video. Surprised not to see tooth of the arrow in the mix considering the emphasis on armerican made products in all of your videos. Keep up the good work.
Cant wait to see what they’ll do on a deer next season. I have those, and the VPA solid 3 blade. But why not go with the bigger cut for close quarters whitetails
Not into moving parts on my broadheads. The QAD Exodus, Iron Will Vented and Annihilator all get it done for me. There is an aftermarket jig for hollow grinding the edge on the Annihilator that over comes their less-than-impressive sharpness out of the box. It’s called a StaySharp guide. Makes them shaving sharp, and they fly great and are silent. Lots of good heads to choose from though.
This guy is legit. I haven’t heard him say one thing about hitting 100k. A real down to earth guy. Your content is always on point. Always the first channel I go to if I’m trying to learn something new. Thanks for all the extra time you put in.
I've used slicktrick standards for 17 years. They will not leave my quiver. My 12 year old sun smoked his 1st bow buck with QAD exidos and had great results. ABT.
Congratulations on hitting 100k been following you for a couple years now. I have never elkhunted but I love whitetail hunting and have learned quite a bit from this channel even for the whitetail woods
been eyeing the iron will but love the wound channel of the 3 blade broad heads... love seeing the type of testing any one else could do in their back yard!
Hey Dan, could you do a broad head test at distance, like 80 plus yards to see which ones drop the most or if there is any difference at all, versus field point.
Last year I shot a fully mature whitetail doe with the qad exodus. 20 yrd shot, and I had a Complete pass through. The arrow stuck into the dirt roughly 8 in after passing through the deer. The most impressive thing about it was that it broke her offside leg. It didn't go through the scapula. It went through essentially the top of her femur on the off side. Completely broke the leg and aside from being dulled, the broadhead was completely fine.
Ive shot the slick trick magnus for a few years and i can say they are by far my favorite fixed blade. They never went far. If i ever switched back to fixed thats what id shoot
That was great, man that Slick trick punched quite the hole 🕳️. I have Annihilators on my Easton’s and of all the reviews they always make it through but I would like to try a couple other ones. Would be cool to see your top five picks of fixed and top five mechanicals but than also group them into categories of which animal you’d choose of which broad head to go with. Always great content and Jeff is rocking it behind the lens
Great vid Dan. I’m super curious your thoughts on the day six evo x. Seems like it’d be money for elk. Similar to the IW wide but without the vents and possible whistling. Cheers
Love my QADs, had to Broadhead tune them, me and my hunting buddies use them, always get pas throughs good blood trails, never had to track anything over 70 yards extremely durable.
YO DAN!!! You did whatevey single one of us wants to do in our own back yards! Man or women or child. Wants to just set up targets in there backyard and shoot crap. Wood, metal, targets. You tested a boat load of different broadhead and showed your results. You’re very transparent which is why we trust you. Good on you man. Loved the video love your work keep it up. OH!! Next time throw a sevr 1.75 titanium in there. You should see the hole I put through a deers shoulder with it. Cleaned off the blood put it right back in the quiver of my phase 4. Much love homie from Long Island NY
Ive been shooting the original Annihilator for a couple years. The biggest thing that blew my mind was the actual cavitation it creates. The internal damage is unreal. Ive had double lung shots that also shreded the liver from the cavitation, not from any physical contact.
Always stoked to see your videos drop. Don’t have the cash to do a bunch of test and I’ve Been struggling with broadheads so this video came in at the perfect time. I Hunt a lot of big hogs and had crappy luck with getting good penetration. Either hit a bone and deflects of dosent get through. I’ll will keep this in mind on my quest for my next set.
Hey Dan would love for you to tinker/play with the new ratchet rest, get your thoughts on it. Oh almost forgot Bubbles says you’re amazing !! Better than before 😅
Considering you like the Micro Hades Pro 3 blade so much and really liked the holes from those Slick Trick's, I'm surprised you haven't tried the Micro Hades Pro 4 blade. Everything you already love about your Grim Reapers but now a square hole
Yo Dan! I see you have 100K subs now! Congrats, brotha! Thanks for the broadhead testing, Dan. I'm liking the Evolution Hyde and the SlickTrick Magnum! I still think you need to partner up with SlickTrick! Please tell Blake to have The Outdoor Group make you an ElkShape edition broadhead and call it Blue Steel as the counterpart to their Magnum! :)
I agree with your cameraman: come to Australia! I'm not sure about other states, but in Victoria you can hunt any deer except hog deer all year round. If you want to go to the highlands and hunt in the Alpine National Park, you'll need to come while it's open for hunting (I think it's open sometime around Easter to November-ish). No bag limit. Just get a licence and off you go (just don't hunt in no-go areas - there's a free app to find where you can hunt). Hunting hours are half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset. The deer we have in Victoria: * Sambar deer (Cervus unicolor) * Hog deer (Axis porcinus) * Red deer (Cervus elaphus) * Fallow deer (Dama dama) * Chital deer (Axis axis) * Rusa deer (Cervus timorensis) The ones you'll see the most are sambar, fallow and red. So... When are you coming over?
Great video, I have a pack of QADs laying around I may shot them this year. If I may offer one critique ( Im not trying to be that keyboard warrior), pulling the rear deploying head may have cause some of the damage. blade chatter, no, but blades bending, possibly. G5 includes field points that mimic a close Dead and Megameat so you can practice and tune. The blades on the "Meats" are a one and done, for sure. I have had exceptional experience with the Deadmeat. Good content! Keep it up!
These kinds of videos are always fun, even if they aren't the most scientific. Broadheads aren't cheap anymore and it is good to know that there are some out there that can get multiple uses and we get the most for our dollar. Keep up the videos, always appreciated.
I love the QAD Exodus. As a paramedic I sometimes get to see how actual tissues react to different injuries. I feel the design of the Exodus best meets the needs to cause an excellent quick ethical kill. I’ve harvested lots of critters with them, they won’t leave my quiver any time soon.
Thank you so much for putting this video out. I’m actually in the market for new broadheads. I have been thinking about switching to the G5 MegaMeat or to a fixed blade. This video is extremely helpful !
Hey Brother. Great testing. I know which broadheads to cross off my list of possibles for next season. And to be completely honest. The way the Iron Will's sounded when they hit and the fact that they are just badass has them at the top of my list. #ABT
Annihilators are probably one of the most durable heads out there. The design to the back gives the blades so much support I think they’re as close to indestructible as a head can be. May not be known the leave the best blood trail we haven’t had to look for one yet, they’ve been dropping within site.
While nothing simulates an elk like an elk these type of test are still great. Lot of great data gained. That said I’ve shot 5 or so elk with the QAD Exodus, multiple pass thoughts and very tough 💪🏻 Solid choice for Elk !!!!!

Changing blades beats resharpening for me. The fact that the Slick Trick flies SO well, even at very high speeds, is icing on the cake. I love the idea of expendables, but they can be too fragile when hitting bone. I have used the ST and they are my favorite heads, but still trying to be objective here. I see nothing beating them.
I’ve had no issue shooting through whitetail legs and scapula using Swhacker 2” cut at 60lbs. You don’t need to settle for 1” cut fixed blades on whitetail. I’m aiming for Vital V. But I would use 1” fixed on an elk. Probably a Slick Trick std, maybe Exodus.
Can’t believe that those G5 deadmeats did not do better. I swear by those. I switched to those after I was having quality problems with slick trick. I was bending the blades very easily in my targets and hunting in Oregon after a couple of times in the rain, they would rust up pretty good. but all in all fair test.
You mentioned you don't have the quietest vanes, would love to see you have a more recent vane comparison video as I am looking to try out some new vanes that weigh as much or less than Blazers. The biggest thing is I need it to stabilize a 1/14 125gr 3-bladed fixed blade broadhead with a three vane true helical.
Awesome testing! I’d be cut how the new BEAST broadhead would do? The head looks pretty wicked and I’m thinking about trying them on whitetails this year.
Shot my elk this year with the Slick Trick Magnum 125. Shot 3x. 2 pass thru’s (didn’t know what hit him) and shot him trotting off on the 3rd shot at 65 yards and went through the scap and stuck in offside shoulder. All 3 looked pristine after. Awesome broadheads.
The Hurricane was unscrewing so bad because you were shooting a right bevel head with a left helical vane setup. Also, if you think about it, with a right bevel head it will keep rotating clockwise as long as it is moving forward and if your arrow shaft as has resistance/friction that keeps it from turning with the broadhead then it will unscrew. With a left bevel head rotating counter-clockwise if the shaft has any resistance it will tighten. I think people have been thinking about single bevel direction the wrong way because they swear clockwise rotation will keep them tight, but they are wrong.
I wish you included the sevr 2.0 I started using them the last two seasons in Illinois and have had great results so far. I’ll pay for them and send them to you if you’ll just let me know ahead of time. Thanks love the channel!
Can you also provide a comparison with regards to flight variance? How well do these fly out of the package without any tuning? As an example, I found that Ironwill SB 100’s and Grim Reaper Micro Hades 3-Blade 100’s fly great and group together, while a Tooth of the Arrow Solid takes a hard lower left miss all constant. Which broadhead fly’s most true to center?
I shoot the QAD 125 with Easton 5mm match grade with iron will collars. Shot two bull’s with excellent results but they were great hits both died within 100 yards. Also love the slick trick for the 4 blades but I don’t like open blades kind of wish QAD had a 4 blade. I’m convinced animals jump the noise so quieter the better so QAD exodus was my choice. The evolutions are my favorite hybrids. My questions is do you go for penetration over cut size because hybrids will always deliver a wider cut but 3 blades and even 2 blades will out penetrate.
I do deer management on city hunts….I can vouch for the QAD Exodus. Twenty-one deer so far, shot through shoulders, bones, and joints with no damage to the broadhead. I practice with blades that shot through deer, then replace with new or resharpened blades just before I hunt. Love them!!!

it can depending of the target type

I shoot the QAD 125 with Easton 5mm match grade with iron will collars.
Shot two bull’s with excellent results but they were great hits both died within 100 yards. Also love the slick trick for the 4 blades but I don’t like open blades kind of wish QAD had a 4 blade. I’m convinced animals jump the noise so quieter the better so QAD exodus was my choice. The evolutions are my favorite hybrids. My questions is do you go for penetration over cut size because hybrids will always deliver a wider cut but 3 blades and even 2 blades will out penetrate.
The point was the exact results we got man thanks
heyoooo 100K. Congrats Dan. Keep it up, love the content.
Hey, thanks!
Bigger test id like to see tested would be broadhead accuracy
Megameat is amazing for trail but it is one n done and can’t find blades to replace so $60 for 3 every time you shoot em
Great video bro! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’ll take the G5Megameat! Yes they are one and done…but I don’t care..the holes they make are unmatched from what I have seen.
Dan please try the Kayuga pilot cut. I think you would love it. Gives Iron Will a run for its money.
I have seen those... intrigued!
Great broad heat torture tests keep it going ya'll😊
still waiting you to try the rage chisel, both 2 and 3 blade. go for the extremes! the holes are HUGE
