I try to shoot everyday, even if it's just 5-10 shots, started close to 3 months ago and holding about a 4-5" group at 20 yards but it keep getting tighter, when I first started it was about an 18" group 🤣 but it's definitely improving thank to yall and a few other RUclips channels, thank you Dan, Josh, and Tim. Give MFJJ a big a** high 5 for me, watching him go through Tims form help me drastically
@@ElkShape you need a section right at the beginning talking about the tools you’ll need. ie press, vise, allen’s (sae) small and handle, lighter, server string, magnetic tray. I’m sure MFJJ, would have recommendations. You touched on the press, and the importance of the magnetic tray, but nothing else. Also, regarding your peep, I know there’s two different angles. How do you determine which one you need?
Absolutely love these kinds of videos , there’s lots of people out here that are to embarrassed to ask about a lot of things and this will definitely help thanks guys ! And as for the camera work we’ll just mount the camera to a riser then maybe MFJJ will be a little more steady 😂😂😂
Thanks guys!!! I really enjoyed what Josh said" I've probably built like 27 000 bows, Tim what does that mean". Tim "it means it's recording" 😁. Love your honesty and all your advice. Now you just have to go through each brand 😅
Great channel. Been following for so long and love the podcasts. Look forward to seeing what comes every week. So informative for someone that wants to get into doing things themselves. Keep it up. Thanks for all the info guys!
Josh is one heck of an instructor. Not only does he let Tim do the work but he explains why he does things certain ways and why he has Tim do it that way. Can not wait for more of his instructional videos. Great video.
Great video. Would love to see more bow build videos. I would love to see more timing adjustment on the cams and how to make sure your bow is in spec after a new string install
I really like this video. Nice job and extremely helpful to anyone wanting to figure things out with setting up a bow. Man this would have been so helpful when I first started out 13 years ago.
Thanks great video. Started setting up my own bows couple years ago. It’s very satisfying. Could you do a shop tour and show your draw board setup for checking 3rd axis?
What about knock fit on the center serving? A reserving video on a bad fit or worn out serving would be cool for the people that arent aware of what that looks like. Good job Timmy
Good job Tim, Josh for the first time really behind the camera you get a slide. Hell you’d get a slide anyhow since your trying to do to things at once! Is there any chance you could do a video with close ups of knot tying and the different styles at different points on bows?
I'm looking forward to yall to give the review on the a3 strings. Brent is a good guy and when I buy my new bow, I'm going to get strings from him. Was going to go with him with my old bow, but it got sold instead so.
Is there a more detailed video on paper tuning? For example a top hat was mentioned. It’d be cool to see all the various scenarios for tuning and the changes to make.
Hi Tim. I want a Hoyt Ultra RX- 7 sooooo badly... but I would buy a Matthews Phase 4 in that camo color on the wheels riser in a second. It is so hot. 🔥 Mathews should come out with that camo color as an option from the factory. I would pay for the upgrade. Great vid!
How do you like the A3 strings so far? How is the peep rotation on them? Thinking about getting some for my bow. Good job putting your bow together, learned a lot will watch the video again a couple time to make shire I understand what I need to do
Josh stick with teaching man. Outstanding teacher and bow tech. Camera work you're gonna need Tim's help lol. Awesome video guys. Looking forward to the next one and bow builds of MFJJ
There’s a couple forums on archery talk about not using the Hamskea bracket for these newer Matthew’s. I just got a phase 4 and I was gonna use an epsilon, ever had any issues with tuning or anything with the bracket? 35:23
Attaching it to the limb clamp or the yoke puck on these bows with a lot of limb flex can make the rest louder on the shot and stops you from being able to fine tune the amount of guidance the rest has on the arrow, which is one of the benefits of a limb driven rest. Designer of the product recommends using the limb pad and trying it 2” from the limb bolt as a starting place.
Hamskea doesn’t recommend tying to the yoke. Their recommendation is tying to the limb 2.5”-4” from the tip of the limb and using their adhesive rubber piece that comes with the rest. Make sure to replace the cordage with some BCY #24 and you will have zero problems!
Would you check timing and poundage before you tie in the string for the rest to make sure your string are correct?. I found I had to twist a new set of string more than expected to get the poundage and brace night correct.
If you’ve decided “yeah, archery is my thing”, then before you buy another bow; buy a bow press, draw board and fletching jig. When (Elkshape guys) you put on your new strings, take about 100 -200 shots, cut the loop off and see which ones have the serving separated under the loop. Bet all of them do. MFJJ just works from home now?
To get to a 100k subs which you guys definitely will/deserve, you guys should do 100k giveaway whatever that might be…. A hunt, tac event, meet a greet, total bow setup by MFJJ…. To enter you have to like share and subscribe on every video till you hit 100k
I'd like to see a video on how much RUclips had increased Josh's business I know for me personally I've ordered a lot of things from the website that I never would have without RUclips
Mathews look like a pain in the ass. Between having to shim cams and having to take it apart to get a new string on. Bowtech and Elite are way ahead with their adjustability. Next year Bowtech hunting bows should have the deadloc feature along with a timeloc feature like their target bows.
PSE is really talking up their new EZ 220 shim system. I mean it's an improvement but nothing like Bowtech and Elite. I dont understand why it's not the industry standard.
Hang tight ya’ll we got some of the best stuff we’ve ever made in our hopper dropping these next few weeks! Appreciate you, now go shoot your bow 🏹
Y'all*
As a new archer and somebody that wants be able to do their own stuff, I really enjoy the video. Thank you both.
We’re trying to help as much as we can

Good ole Tim. josh is a very patient man
A3 baby!! MFJJ is one of the best to learn from!! Well done Tim!!!
Couldn't agree more!
That was one of the greatest bow build videos that I ever saw.. mfjj has such skills to explain how to do things.. thanks! 👌👍👊
Absolutely love these kinds of videos , there’s lots of people out here that are to embarrassed to ask about a lot of things and this will definitely help thanks guys !

Thanks 🙏
Thanks a ton for taking the time to actually show everything in detail
Thanks guys!!!
I really enjoyed what Josh said" I've probably built like 27 000 bows, Tim what does that mean". Tim "it means it's recording" 😁.
Love your honesty and all your advice. Now you just have to go through each brand 😅
Now that bowl looks really sweet with that paint job and those green strings look sharp
Awesome video Tim and MFJJ!!!
Nice job Tim and thank you to both for the video 👍
We're proud of you Tim, you done good
I try 🙏
Gentlemen. Nice work Thankfully for the knowledge, glad to be along for the ride.
You bet!
I absolutely love this video man. Tim makes me feel so normal, even though I know what an axle is I’m the same way with bows.
Great channel. Been following for so long and love the podcasts. Look forward to seeing what comes every week. So informative for someone that wants to get into doing things themselves. Keep it up. Thanks for all the info guys!
Awesome! Thank you!
Man that bow is sick!😎🏹
Great video fellas, you guys have become my favorite channel by far. Love listening to the vids while I shoot. Keep it up!
Awesome 👏
Josh is one heck of an instructor. Not only does he let Tim do the work but he explains why he does things certain ways and why he has Tim do it that way. Can not wait for more of his instructional videos. Great video.

You will be comfortable to work on your bow soon Tim!
Well done!
Kind regards Robert
Thanks great video. Started setting up my own bows couple years ago. It’s very satisfying. Could you do a shop tour and show your draw board setup for checking 3rd axis?
Noted
What about knock fit on the center serving? A reserving video on a bad fit or worn out serving would be cool for the people that arent aware of what that looks like. Good job Timmy
Awesome haircut, Mfjj !!
Love josh seems like a great guy and down to earth .
This reminds me of a 90s home video I liked it
Thanks for sharing this video it has helped me a lot with working on my own bow
Great to hear!
Looks good fellas! I noticed you didn't check for timing after you installed the new strings or was that something you did off camera?
We did off camera & timing was solid 🤙
One of the best how to bow builds I've ever seen
Thank you so much 🙏
These "how to" vids are the best. You guys should do a how to series!
@@ryguy12369 with one ugliest bows I've ever seen
Good job Tim, Josh for the first time really behind the camera you get a slide. Hell you’d get a slide anyhow since your trying to do to things at once!
Is there any chance you could do a video with close ups of knot tying and the different styles at different points on bows?
Thank you for this video my bow has those plastic yoke and string attachment now I know how to take them apart and reinstall them excellent job fellas
Awesome video Tim, sweet to see the set up you gonna run! I been shooting since last season getting pumped for some alberta bears lol
I'm looking forward to yall to give the review on the a3 strings. Brent is a good guy and when I buy my new bow, I'm going to get strings from him. Was going to go with him with my old bow, but it got sold instead so.
Very nice. I changed my halon strings last weekend. This would have saved me a lot of time.
Is there a more detailed video on paper tuning? For example a top hat was mentioned. It’d be cool to see all the various scenarios for tuning and the changes to make.
Super helpful video… thanks guys!
Like your bow Tim,, looks kool🤙
Thank you 🙏
Awesome video guys!!!
Lol love I’m no better myself but what is the axle made laugh great work guys keep making these great videos

Thank you!!!
Of course!
I love that the while video is just slightly out of focus the whole time. Great build Timmy
Hey Josh what a amazing teacher you are!!! Love your vids . Good job tim ! So does Tim get A a+ today 😊
Thank you so much
wow mathew's does a nice job on their cams! EZ to work on
Good stuff fellas. Any lead time on the white ES side plates?
While watching this.... "man, do I need glasses?".. nope.. just MFJJ's camera work lol.
How do you like the A3 strings so far? How is the peep rotation on them? Thinking about getting some for my bow. Good job putting your bow together, learned a lot will watch the video again a couple time to make shire I understand what I need to do
So far I am stoked on them.. but like 100-200 arrows only this far
Josh stick with teaching man. Outstanding teacher and bow tech. Camera work you're gonna need Tim's help lol. Awesome video guys. Looking forward to the next one and bow builds of MFJJ
Great video
Good job
What is Josh Jones opinion on running your rest cord to the yoke as opposed to using the limb bracket?
Road to 100k! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Getting there!!!
Never thought I'd see a Nickelodeon themed bow.
There’s a couple forums on archery talk about not using the Hamskea bracket for these newer Matthew’s. I just got a phase 4 and I was gonna use an epsilon, ever had any issues with tuning or anything with the bracket? 35:23
Hey @tim. How about using the orange d loop material to drive your Hamskea. D loop material works great for this.
What's the difference of using that hamskea mount for the limb driven rest compared to tying the cord into the yoke?
Both work fine.. it’s personal preference

What do you think the best non custom bow strings are and which manufactures are trust worthy.
All the major bows make good strings
Would you check timing and poundage before you tie in the string for the rest to make sure your string are correct?. I found I had to twist a new set of string more than expected to get the poundage and brace night correct.
I’m happy MFJJ is embracing my name suggestion.
#otg #tdd2023
jj's camera skills crack me up! lol
Awesome build Tim, great job!
Thanks a bunch!
Where would I find an allen wrench like the one you used to tighten down your v bar?
What was Tim’s process to paint his bow?
Scroll back a few videos, we made one about it
I thought you were testing the dialed archery site did you give your final review on that
That’s on James bow if you watch the other videos. That sight will not make muster needs more improvement. Sent mine back
This is a cool video
If you’ve decided “yeah, archery is my thing”, then before you buy another bow; buy a bow press, draw board and fletching jig.
When (Elkshape guys) you put on your new strings, take about 100 -200 shots, cut the loop off and see which ones have the serving separated under the loop. Bet all of them do.
MFJJ just works from home now?
What size stabilizers are you running Tim
12” and 10” right now.. it feels very balanced
Thanks y’all. Ps don’t dry fire your bow lol. I just got the phase 4 yesterday
I thought the Hamskea limb cord bracket is not compatible with the Phase 4
You should name that bow. The ole Swamp Donkey. 😂
Is the lab radar accurate I see mfjj has one
We’re fixing to find out
how did you get the unique colors on the riser?
Scroll back a few videos - I painted it 🙌
How come you didn't tied the rest onto the limb and not the yoke?
To get to a 100k subs which you guys definitely will/deserve, you guys should do 100k giveaway whatever that might be…. A hunt, tac event, meet a greet, total bow setup by MFJJ…. To enter you have to like share and subscribe on every video till you hit 100k
Ol MFJJ shopping for a white chevy truck aye??
Caught em!
Drove his Chevy to to levy ,but the levy was dry.🥺
4 of the 6 girls are watching just to meat gaze at Jake.
I'd like to see a video on how much RUclips had increased Josh's business I know for me personally I've ordered a lot of things from the website that I never would have without RUclips
That bow looks like someone threw up on it 😂😂
Any one know if vapor trail rests are any good?
Well, no one is going to ever steal that thing.
I think he’s got more of a Michelangelo from the ninja turtles theme going with that bow.
pls dont hit that tiny screw with hammer, its going to break. 😅
It is easier to change strings and cables on PSE
He’s a man of many talents. Camera man’s not one
Love these vids. But that paint job......ouch!
Mathews look like a pain in the ass. Between having to shim cams and having to take it apart to get a new string on. Bowtech and Elite are way ahead with their adjustability. Next year Bowtech hunting bows should have the deadloc feature along with a timeloc feature like their target bows.
Restringing a Mathews is a total pain.
PSE is really talking up their new EZ 220 shim system. I mean it's an improvement but nothing like Bowtech and Elite. I dont understand why it's not the industry standard.
Now that I'm really confused
I don’t get why everyone is dogging on his for it. It’s a sick scheme!!
I dont want to be able to take apart a bow. Too Much to know.
Give your girlfriend her bow back 😂
#bowtech🔥
Mfjj knowledge is amazing. His camera skills need some work. Great video nonetheless.
How to: make a beautiful Mathews look horrendous…. Spray paint it fluorescent colours.
T.D.D.
TDD
My bow guy doesn't charge enough. This shit is too tedious for me!
Paper Tuning with accessories = F!
Feel like I’m watching Blair witch 😂
700 plus for 2 stabilizers and a v bar....lmfao man Mathews has you guys drinking the good cool aid....wow...
Hot Garbage 😂
The bow colors selected are pure vomit 😂
I think your spell check messed up pure vomit, when you meant to say pig 🐖 vomit?🤮
You guys need a camera man. Your videos are great, but your camera work on three videos I've seen is seriously bad.
