jesus i just realized that he probably has never the lights on even at night. That kinda drives me crazy. Imagine some burglar breaking in thinking nobody is home and then he's just cooking something in the kitchen or doing laundry in total darkness lol.
There was a movie like that in the 70s called Wait Until Dark with Audrey Hepburn. She was a blind lady and a burglar thinks shed be easy to rob. But then she cuts the lights out so she has the upper hand.
"You know what's cool about being blind? There's no race. I don't know from beauty. I know people from what comes out of their mouth and what's in their heart. That's how I know people." Only this by itself can be already considered a blessing. Blind people are the only ones that can really see what we trully are.
+Taciano Messias Moraes I don't think that's true. We all can see what a person is really like. It's just so easy to let our visual estimula to fool us that we forget it, casually. I'm pretty sure blind people also may have superficial desire. Like the tone of voice, the way they talk, etc.
Meredith Williams Yeah, way to go. We all got handicaps in our lives, some may be visible, some not, some people may be lucky and have none which are obvious. But we all have our struggles. He sets a good example, live with what God has given you, this is your life! Make the best of it, no matter how hard it is.
But blind people still getting creeped out from eerie and chilly atmosphere, nobody is immune from those horrors. So it's still kinda scary for them , nobody is safe lol.
tamppii Ⓥ Blind people are not ignorant, they know they are missing out. on much. This guy admits it, he just is very positive about it, which is nice. Race adds flavor and details to admire or marvel at. It's not about the negative. If everyone was like that I think we would have to find other things to distinguish and admire. However, more is more. Less is less. That's just perspective. There are probably more senses and colors that our eyes cannot pick up. Doesn't mean our life is boring, just that it could have been more interesting.
James McGowan Well they can't really know as the haven't ever experienced it. Its like someone telling you about the wonderful world of heroin and you're missing out if you don't do it. Not that those two things are comparable, but just as an example, you don't know how wonderful heroin is if you've never had it. You can sort of be like "yeah, other people have this ability and I am limited" But you can't really know
tamppii Ⓥ That's a bit naïve. They don't know what they are missing out on, but they do indeed know they are missing out on something. It does cause some level of inconvenience in their lives because we can't just take out the beauty standards and race perception of others. If we did, the fact that the world is more boring without it is an objective fact regardless of our subjective capacity. There actually are many other colors that humans have never perceived that some other animals can. Because of that, our lives are more boring. It is what it is. I'm sorry but the truth isn't always romantic in nature. You are right I don't know what heroin is like and I choose not to and I am willingly giving up an experience. I don't really see a point there though.
I work at a call center and I take calls from blind customers. They are, somehow, the most organized and convenient people to work with. They always have their shit together before they call. They know what they want, they've planned out every detail about the shipping and if they're going to add on their order, they have their credit card numbers ready with security codes and expiration dates. And sighted customers by comparison are just useless. "Uhhh... my credit card is uhhh... fucking somewhere.... *place order* .... Oh I wanted some shoes too, can you add them? I don't have the number but they're like... fucking blue n shit."
😂😂😂😂 Yeah, I guess a blind person is forced to be organized and ready before they make that call. Cuz they can't rely on chance, all has to be ready. When I call I also lay down all the info first though, but I'm a more organized person when it comes to those things.
johndoejoey yeah right cos , 1 That`s the only way for him to get the info, 2. he dosn`t bother to find out any of the comments, 3 My comment was heartfelt & so I wrote it down & if he sees it or not ,someone will, Don't be such a killjoy.
I almost cried when you said how you know people by their heart and not their race. It's so simple and poetic but many people will never see life that way. I wish everyone saw one another as equal. I needed this today. Thank you.
I love the last thing you said about not judging people by what the look like dress like or race but judge them by there personality!! How I wish people could do that and realize that without being blind...God bless your heart
orlo Oh, hah. I thought he was making a joke implying that the guy was super smart, thus complimenting him. But now I see lol (no pun intended. seriously. lol)
I always find it both ironic and yet heart warming that it takes people who cannot see, to be able to look past someones physical differences. So many individuals in the world get hung up about how they appear to others, or how others may appear different from them. Be it their race, gender, age, height, weight or physical impairments. Some even go as far as to prejudge often in negative ways what they think of someone based on their appearance alone. It's almost sad in a way that the best people to judge a person are the ones who can't see them at all. All they know what they do, what they say and what makes them who they are as a person. It's touching in a way that some blind people have this perception of people. Your appearance doesn't define you as a person, simply being a person is what defines you. Life and society would be filled with a lot less unnecessary anger if everyone, sighted or not, could judge people by what they do and who they are and not what they look like.
I've been binge watching all your videos and i can't help but smile..I think I'm falling in love with this man..He's just soo effing loveable!!! hahaha XD
"I know people from what comes out of their mouth, and what's in their heart. That's how I know people" AWEEEEEEE This is how the entire world should know people! Gender, race and religious differences shouldn't exist.
In his world race doesn't exist.... sometimes I wish the entire world was blind so we would find the beauty in each other not defining ourselves by skin color.
I know it is a crazy term, "jay walking." I mean, what IS that? Like a Bluejay bird? I should google this and find out. The term alone gives no hint of what it means...... It's basically when you don't want to walk to the corner of a street to cross it--you dart out halfway down the road, between parallel parked cars and make a shortcut across the street for yourself, dashing through moving traffic, like in that game "Frogger."
Your a beautiful person Tommy, please continue making videos. You make my heart smile and you really have a dynamic personality and energy! One of a kind.
Well, blind people have no idea what sight is in the first place, so they don't really know what they are missing. To them, sight is this mysterious sense that has some mysterious purpose that they cannot comprehend, it's as if me and you lacked the "X sense" that made other people "X-ify things", which obviously makes no sense, since we don't even know what this X sense is.
I am completely blind and have been ever since birth. I absolutely love your videos because you seem like one of those people that love to think on the positive side. Like you, I also love it that I don't use as much electricity as other people as I don't have the lights on all day and I don't have to worry about drink-driving because I will never be able to drive as far as technology goes. ☺️
This guy is awesome haha. When he talked about the light thing something struck my mind, as far as I know blind people can live alone? Do they wander around in darkness at home all the time and never switch on the lights? That'd seem a bit creepy to me haha.
***** Just imagine breaking into the home of a blind person and getting your ass kicked in the pitch black until you slide a table two inches over and they get lost
+balkanmachine Dinner with schmucks. The blind swordfighter is hilarious. He feels around the wall for the light switch and says "In the world of darkness, it is the blind who see" and flips the light off, but the switch was just for some table lamps or something so it goes from bright, to not so bright but still light and he starts swinging around the sword thinking every ones in the dark but they all see him.
I'm so happy I found your videos! My daughter "Charley" is almost 2 and she has a brain tumor. Her optic nerves ran right through the middle of the tumor. She never had great vision , but at 15 months old she underwent surgery to remove some of the tumor. Her neurosurgeon was able to remove 60% of the tumor. When she woke from surgery she was completely blind. I have not shed a single tear over the loss of Charley's'sight. I'm just happy she is alive and happy. She is amazing and not seeing hasn't slowed her down at all. Thanks you so much for your videos Charley is to young to express her feelings and senses so your videos are very helpful. Thank you so much!
You know what? except for all the laught u make me do watching your videos, you give us something more... U are telling us all that Life is always worth to be lived... that after all you still can smile and have fun... And maybe someone should stop complaining all the time because of what they have not, and start thanking for all they have got... Thank you so much!
THX l lost most of my sight 8 yrs ago and its been tough. l went from independent ,single parent ,heavy mechanic to single parent and not much else .The first year was the toughest ,had to relearn how to do everything differently .Still not easy still a single parent thank god ,l think that helped me get purpose to push on . A few years ago I’ve heard about a guy who was asked what was good about being blind. And it stucked with me. He sounded so cool and with no self-pity. Can’t remember how many times I’ve quoted him to friends over the years. And it’s YOU!! So happy I’ve found your channel. Love your stuff.

I'm so glad I discovered your channel. You're honestly so inspiring. I love your positive attitude, and you make some of the best videos I've ever seen. You're truly amazing. Keep it up.
the bit about knowing people from what comes out of their mouth and what's in their heart is just... it's one of the best things I've heard anyone say.
"I don't know race. I only know people from what comes out of their mouths and hearts". Maaaan this guy is incredibly awesome. You sir, Tommy, you rock!
I have been very depressed as I became disabled in a traumatic accident 5 years ago. I have just been binge watching your videos, and I want to thank you for your humor. I really needed a laugh and enjoy your videos.
love ya dude! These days it's all a competition who is the most oppressed or who we should feel sorry for the most. Here you are just laughing about your situation and informing everyone on what you go through on the daily. You're vibes are contagious. Thanks for making these videos!
Wow, just wow. I'm starting a podcast and I'd REALLY love having a person like you on there. Just everything you say and do makes me feel truly happy inside. Especially your laugh. You're such a spectacular person. If being blind is the path of rough character building it takes to become the person you are, it sucks that I missed out.
you have made my day, you're a great dude man. I have a question, which bugs me: can you actually imagine any shapes, even the simplest ones, like a line or a dot, out of concentrated light? can you imagine light being manipulated in ways other than you see it in (as in just presence/absence): taking shape, or getting concentrated in one area in space? or do you draw using strictly spacial motor memory?
Bro I have so much respect for you. You smile often and keep a light heart about everything. You forgot something that you beat everyone else at, your personality rocks way more than ours do. You're truly an inspiration. Peace and love
"every woman i've ever been with was a 10"... i like this guy
every woman i've ever been with was 10
i dont get this joke. can someone explain to me?
+jomache 316 he can't see the girl ,so he just rates them by personality
BANDDUDEDancing oooooooooooh
so every girl is pretty by assumption
jesus i just realized that he probably has never the lights on even at night. That kinda drives me crazy. Imagine some burglar breaking in thinking nobody is home and then he's just cooking something in the kitchen or doing laundry in total darkness lol.
picturing that situation in my head made me laugh so hard that i farted. sorry if you can smell that from wherever you are +TommyEdisonXP
lol you should watch Don't Breathe
Dont breathe 2 sounds great!
lol
There was a movie like that in the 70s called Wait Until Dark with Audrey Hepburn. She was a blind lady and a burglar thinks shed be easy to rob. But then she cuts the lights out so she has the upper hand.
This man has a beautiful soul. I would love to meet him in person.
We and you all have it. Only brainwashed away from it since birth. Well evolve in another century or two and live differently though.
"You know what's cool about being blind? There's no race. I don't know from beauty. I know people from what comes out of their mouth and what's in their heart. That's how I know people."
Only this by itself can be already considered a blessing. Blind people are the only ones that can really see what we trully are.
+Taciano Messias Moraes that was some deep shit, bro.
+Taciano Messias Moraes I know that part was touching! I wish we were all like that~
+Taciano Messias Moraes I don't think that's true. We all can see what a person is really like. It's just so easy to let our visual estimula to fool us that we forget it, casually.
I'm pretty sure blind people also may have superficial desire. Like the tone of voice, the way they talk, etc.
So how does he know what race and beauty are if you can't see.. Maybe it's time the blind film critic gets some criticism going back the other way
iwantachip
can you not tell the difference between a white person and a black person on the phone most of the time?

sleepingeye Yes, he definitely gives viewers a different outlook on life - made me complain much less now, that's for sure.
Meredith Williams.
It just hit me that this guy has never once been afraid of the dark
Joseph Almaraz that's true.
Well, he doesn't know what dark is, so he technically can't even be afraid of dark. :)
Well he WAS afraid at night. He used to cover his ears.
Some people that can see have never been afraid of the dark though.
But blind people still getting creeped out from eerie and chilly atmosphere, nobody is immune from those horrors. So it's still kinda scary for them , nobody is safe lol.
"All my senses are better than yours...", someone call Professor X quick! :D
Xx gabee
He's daredevil
+Barnacules Nerdgasm Found Jerry.
+Barnacules Nerdgasm Is this dude a joking or being serious is he a comedian???
+Volcanite .0 i wasnt trying to sound rude but i just think hes a comedian...
wow a world with no race or beauty standards would be amazing
Sounds kind of boring.
James McGowan it wouldn't be if things were like that always and that was all you knew

'I know people from what comes out of their mouth and whats in their heart'- The ultimate never judge a book by its cover.
Well he probably would judge a book by its cover if he could actually see it.
or "this guy has a New York accent... he must be stupid."
Best way to watch Tommy's videos - with your eyes shut.
Gotta try that on the next one!
YES!
This is interesting, but I just love his smile so much!
"All my senses are better than yours."
I dunno, I think my sight edges yours out. :)
+King of Dunkshire I feel bad that I laughed at that lol
wow this guy's attitude is so fucking great
ikr
Every single woman I've been with has been a 10!
if the age is on the clock....
If she's bleeding...
***** She's ready for a feeding.
+floret No grass on the field is no reason not to play ball.
but how would he know if she's a 10?
It takes a blind person to see that we are all equal... Very inspiring.
You don't have to watch Trump's hair or Hillary's soulless facial expressions. That is a plus.
hearing what comes out of their mouth is the worst part though...
+Antivorg You can always muff your ears.
I don't know if I'd be able not to hear saruman's voice though.
Lol I love the 2016 election comments :D
lol XD
i love how he laughs at us when he says his senses are better than ours, this guy is awesome
Hahahaha I know right!!! Being insulted never felt so good 💖
This is brilliant! But it must be easier being blind since birth as opposed to losing your sight later. You know what you're missing, then.
I love you
oh, hey caveboy.
I love your personality ,the bit about how you know people was beautiful, I wish we all thought your way. Thanks for sharing.
Although this was nice thing to say I highly doubt he would see our comments
johndoejoey
yeah right cos , 1 That`s the only way for him to get the info, 2. he dosn`t bother to find out any of the comments, 3 My comment was heartfelt & so I wrote it down & if he sees it or not ,someone will, Don't be such a killjoy.

never heard of a screen reader?
The bit about beauty sounded pretty gay to me.
I almost cried when you said how you know people by their heart and not their race. It's so simple and poetic but many people will never see life that way. I wish everyone saw one another as equal.
I needed this today. Thank you.
He is so damn funny
I love the last thing you said about not judging people by what the look like dress like or race but judge them by there personality!! How I wish people could do that and realize that without being blind...God bless your heart
What was it like when you invented the light bulb?
Do you think it is kind of ironic you did, considering your blindness?
Are you an idiot, or are you just joking?
Coozkee How could you possibly think he was serious... That was actually a pretty good joke.
Coozkee blind guy's name is tommy edison.
Coozkee you're the idiot here, fella :)
orlo
Oh, hah. I thought he was making a joke implying that the guy was super smart, thus complimenting him. But now I see lol (no pun intended. seriously. lol)
Glad you can see the positive in it! :)
"see"
you are one smart fellah
I always find it both ironic and yet heart warming that it takes people who cannot see, to be able to look past someones physical differences. Very philosophical and deep. You have given me lots to think about put. What's a perfect 10 to a blind man?
Cal DW you're just pointing out the obvious and trying to sound cultured and deep, just stfu
You don't know beauty, you only know people by what is in their heart. This is the most beautiful and inspiring thing I have heard all day.
I've been binge watching all your videos and i can't help but smile..I think I'm falling in love with this man..He's just soo effing loveable!!! hahaha XD
Najmo Abdi ikr what I love about his is he sense of humor. dam is he funny.
Wow. This guy is so inspirational. He's amazing.
"I know people from what comes out of their mouth, and what's in their heart. That's how I know people"
AWEEEEEEE This is how the entire world should know people! Gender, race and religious differences shouldn't exist.
Oh my goodness your videos make me so happy, I can't contain the smile on my face! You are a ray of sunshine Tommy!
In his world race doesn't exist.... sometimes I wish the entire world was blind so we would find the beauty in each other not defining ourselves by skin color.
I absolutely agree!
Or by looks.
Absolutely agree too!
***** You fail to recognize that we could identify people by accent too. As most countries don't natively speak English
that would be terrible, so many beautiful things we couldn't see :D
Oh Tommy, you forgot to mention that as blind people, it is not illegal for us to jaywalk!
what the hell is a jaywalk?
Not using the crosswalk
ahhhh ok thanks :)
I know it is a crazy term, "jay walking." I mean, what IS that? Like a Bluejay bird? I should google this and find out. The term alone gives no hint of what it means...... I think not judging people for their looks is definitely his best advantage. Makes him so genuine and free if judgement
Only just realized blind people don't need the lights on at all.. Never thought of that :o
He should have also added not having to read stupid people's comments on the internet
im sry for you guys, be he actually listens the comments with an app
Your a beautiful person Tommy, please continue making videos. You make my heart smile and you really have a dynamic personality and energy! One of a kind.
I love your sense of humor.
man this guy is so happy and it makes me feel good becuse now in know blind persons are happy :)

PS not as fast at it as normal sighted people of course :)
What a great sense of humour to have
Big hug*** you are so positive!!!!!! you are a model for everybody!
" I know people by what comes out of their mouth and what's in their heart " .. that must be the best thing ever.
DUDE YOU ARE AWESOME!
I like your sense of humor.
Tommy your videos are wonderful. You may be blind but you can see the world in a more genuine and better way than most of us people with eyesight can.
Tommy, you poor thing! Kidding! We love your videos!!!! Keep them coming please.
"You know what's cool about being blind? There's no race. I don't know from beauty. I know people from what comes out of their mouth and what's in their heart. That's how I know people." - brilliant statement and truly a cool dude, thanks!

I really do love you and your videos, sir.
You're so funny and have such an uplifting spirit! Everyone of your videos makes me smile. Thanks, Erica
im so glad he saw some light in being blind x

Lola C he didn't see anything though
I love this guy :)
awwww your my favorite person now I love how you can have a condition and just make the most of it and be happy if I was blind I would hate everyone
"I don't know race. I only know people from what comes out of their mouths and hearts". Maaaan this guy is incredibly awesome. You sir, Tommy, you rock!
Does nobody else hear the extremely high pitched ringing in the video? It's sounds like a dog whistle or something
I can't hear it
I thought it was the background. I heard it.
sadly my hearing only goes to about 15KHz...
yes I heard that too...have no idea what it was..
Yeah I hear that.
your hair isn't grey . . . .
he can't see your comment
You do realize he does reply to comments right? He either has an ast program or a friend (like Ben) that reads them for him.
+DivineTree That's some honest introspection. Lol, I respect that.

Anyone else hear this static sound? You know, the sound of an old TV.
I love this guys attitude! His laugh is so contagious. Keep on Keeping on mate
I'm a new subscriber. Thank you, Tommy. No pun intended, but your blindness has opened my eyes in many ways!
The price for the free things are his eyes
I love how you laugh about it
Man, u r just awesome
I have been very depressed as I became disabled in a traumatic accident 5 years ago. I have just been binge watching your videos, and I want to thank you for your humor. I really needed a laugh and enjoy your videos.
love ya dude! These days it's all a competition who is the most oppressed or who we should feel sorry for the most. Here you are just laughing about your situation and informing everyone on what you go through on the daily. You're vibes are contagious. Thanks for making these videos!
anyone else hear that really high frequency buzzing in the background? particularly at the start of the video
I heard a whisper say, "Yeah" at 0:55. I wasn't expecting it.
I do dismal
Hadn't noticed until you pointed it out but it's definitely there. I guess I just learned to tune out the high frequency sounds because of crt tvs.
this was beautiful
LOL this guy is funny
"I know people from what comes out of their mouths and from their heart." Beautiful.
Asking a blind man through you tube comments might prove a bit challenging
G Wiz
yea, except he can have everything read to him with screenvoice, or have his friend read them to him, which he does regularly (read comments).
Man, I wish I saw the world where ever girl you meet is 10/10 ;_;
You can.
Alcohol.
why the heck can i only reply to certain comments that have already been replied to? how do you people get past this youtube sorcery?
You can't reply to comments that were posted before the new comment section. The Google+ one.

He doesn't, but his friends /neighbors /loved ones do, take him to the store, the doctor, the movies. :)
vulkanosaure It means if anybody drives him anywhere they can park in disabled spots
Bro I have so much respect for you. You smile often and keep a light heart about everything. You forgot something that you beat everyone else at, your personality rocks way more than ours do. You're truly an inspiration. Peace and love
"I know people by from comes out of their mouth and what's in their heart. THAT's how I know people." Good stuff.

The second-last one, about only knowing people from what they say and what is in their heart. Very beautiful thought!
He has a bookshelf full of books...

he doesn't live alone.
Sofus Jejlskov Brandt - he is a married man. And there are a lot of books written in Braille out there too that he could purchase.
