Hi Michael, I'm a fan of both of your channels! Specifically your Apple Vision Pro stuff! Are you looking for editors to help with the work flow? Definitely looking for work and I'm also a content creator/editor/apple fan!
Remote monitoring really doesn't cut it. What we really need is remote CONTROL of the full functionality of the Blackmagic camera app using another device (such as an iPhone or iPad) just like Filmic Pro offers.
Hey! I am a visually impaired user, and many visually impaired people have a socalled "magnifying TV", what it actually does is that it has a camera mounted underneath the screen and then you can actually just zoom in and magnify what you need to look at/read by holding it under the TV and look at the big screen. for many years ive been missing the solution to do this just with my apple devices. just like you as a fotographer would like moniotirng screen . optimally i would love to have 3 units paired. one iphone, (which i could use as acamera, 1 mac/ipad/monitor which i could use as a screen, i could then put in on a bracket and put it really close to my eyes and then a third one which i could just use as a controller. meaning the iphone and the monitors would just be "slaves" to the ipad... Did you understand what i meant/and what my needs would be? do you know any appthat could pair up to 3 units together in this way?
Great video, excellent information. Do you happen to know the what the latency is? Also, do you need to pay for the app twice being as you need it on both ipad and Iphone?
I have two solutions for you one if you use a hub or just a regular type c to hdmi and on ipad you use usb camera and plug in a hdmi capture device and connect that with hub or cable to iphone (I recommend hub) Or if you want wireless monitor you can use Roku Player and same hdmi to usb capture on ipad so you screen mirror to Roku and view Roku on ipad
I use the Orion app on my iPad, it enables the Display In feature on the iPad, then just use a USB-C to HDMI capture card and a USB-C dock on my iPhone and it’s a latency free solution. Also love your videos 💯
Thank You for this video . You've read my mind with all the answers, but at the very end, You didn't say how to get into the iPad . Would it be correct : we need HDMI adapter for iPhone for OUTPUT, but do we also need similar adapter for iPad as INPUT and then connect them with HDMI cable ? OR can we go somehow straight from iPhone HDMI adapter into iPad USB-C or Thunderbolt ??
I’m using a hub I got on Amazon. I’ts a 9-1 called Video HD Hub. Works fantastically!! Also, OWC has a great App to test your SSD and cable speed to assure no dropped frames. I was able to find out a couple of the cables I had did not carry the high speed needed. Again, it’s a free app.
so if we use the hdmi hub method, lets say i HDMI to my lg ultra wide, Can i minimize the screen so i can do what i actually plan on doing with recording my self, or it just mirrors through hdmi and its full screen not giving me anything options to use the computer and the phone as it shoud be used. (uk typical apple phuckery way)
@jay you can't ......just yet. What I do it use my camera app to frame them I can just launch the app and record. There might be a way to quick launch from your watch but that would be about it for now, that I know of.
I wish there was wireless remote monitoring and control of the BMPCC4K I’d prefer BM worked on that before the BM Camera app. Remote control is easy enough but it really should do monitoring too.
I wish that there was a button to turn on/off the built-in flashlight. It may not be the best source of light, but in cases when you don't have any, it should be sufficient.
Why Blackmagic camera app turns off the flashlight light after I turn it on my iPhone 15 Pro Max whenever I use Blackmagic camera app to record videos at night or in the dark room? Without flashlight light on, it records black videos in the dark room. Apple camera app lets iphone flashlight light on whenever I record videos in the dark or at night. Blackmagic shoiul update this featurue for iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max.
Anyone know why you can't use the ultra wide in blackmagic camera app? Also would be really cool if blackmagic brought apples cinematic mode to the app.
Mate, I just have to say this again, and I’m really sorry for it, but the portrait of your wife in the background is distracting, we love her, we love you, and thanks for everything
You are killing it lately with this channel and the Vision Pro channel, good work man!
That makes my day! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Great video man. Wish the mirroring + touch function solution existed 😢

Thank you, that helped me a lot, you have no idea brother

Same here, hdmi out to usb 4usd capture dongle. Orion app or Genki studio
Hey this sounds like a good solution ! I am not a pro tho, could you comment the links for these products ??? Would help a lot :)
Thank You for this video .

Great solution... Thank you for posting!
For me, I use the USB-C hub which then handles my audio, power, SSD and HTML to a 7” external 4K monitor. It all Works fantastic!!!
That’s great! Which adapter is working best for you?

Nice research, man and thanks. I think I'll probably wait until BM makes their own. Very essential, though. I hope they come with an update soon.
Me too! First party feature is definitely still the most desired way to go!
OR you could Airplay from the iPhone to the Mac, then share your Mac screen to your iPad (although this doubles the latency)
Please do a video about how well Blackmagic camera app works with DJI Osmo mobile or Insta360 Flow. Can’t find anyone explaining this.
Could do this using NDI Capture App on the camera device and NDI Monitor App on monitor devicce
Can’t the new Blackmagic app update allow you to plug into the USB C to USB C to the iPad
What’s that iPad stand? I checked your gear link but it wasn’t;t listed… That’s a dope stand!

did you tried Elgato Capture App for iOS?, can be showed on the PC Screen with Elgato Capture 4K Utility.
Ty for this, very powerful
Why didn’t you mention continuity camera feature?
I use my apple watch , not the greatest but hey it works. Love the channel btw , inspiring to us new channels! Keep up the hard work!
how do you use apple watch with blackmagic?
Just subscribed to you dude 🙌🏼 love the channel, can’t wait to see how far you go 🚀

@@initialfocus thanks, it’s an honor. Keep up those great videos coming!

What would be the point to screen mirror
How do I stop my vocal clipping dude
I don’t have a mic clipped in it’s just loud

Hi Michael have you tried NDI capture on iPhone and iPad
Nope haven’t seen that one!
Why when doing video with my Iphone 13 Pro max the video look yellow and dark??
Anyone know why you can't use the ultra wide in blackmagic camera app?
Also would be really cool if blackmagic brought apples cinematic mode to the app.
Should be able to use the ultra wide. Never had any problems with that. And yes cinematic mode would be cool. Hope it see it upgraded though.
how about a wireless hdmi emitter ?
just put your phone in Airplane Mode while you are recording so that the calls do not disturb you
NDI… OBJ…. :-) Remote control is the problem!
The app do not work well. 😢 it’s unstable for me
Useless app for me, didn't work like most third parties always behave. I guess I will wait for Blackmagic Camera app to provide this option.
Mate, I just have to say this again, and I’m really sorry for it, but the portrait of your wife in the background is distracting, we love her, we love you, and thanks for everything
lecherous aren’t you.
Stick to the subject.
Useless app with annoying pop up
what a shill.....did you even mention that his is only works on a handful of phones only.............shove it mate
So you’re insulting me because an app won’t work on your phone? lol who let 10 year olds on here?
