Me too. How has it been so far? Played any games on it yet? I noticed mine heats up when I use the rtx card for some games. The aluminum chassis makes it even worse as it absorbs a ton of heat Everything else is great apart from that though
@manithperera6330 yeah I don't have rapid charging on but that makes sense thanks. Also do you think that charging it upside down would be better to allow for more airflow?
@@MasterKingHawk yeah I guess it would work but I'd rather just get a stand for ventilation I'm not tech savvy so I don't know if keeping it upside down is advised

Would you recommend a 1080p or 1440p external monitor when playing AAA games with the version with AMD RYZEN 7 7840hs and RTX 4050. I thought QHD would be way too demanding, but seeing how well the Rtx 3050 handles 1200p and 1600p resolution, I was wondering if that’s not true.
There is no harm to leaving it on, and it primarily helps with keeping the Lowe’s up I fine. If you aren’t gaming though it’s not gonna make any difference
@TechGuyBeau But it does seem to be running pretty hot while gaming. I saw some of the games were running close to 90c. I have the same laptop and the aluminum chassis also absorbs a lot of heat which makes it worse. Could it be dangerous to let it continue running hot in the long term?

Wow, I didn't know that. Thank you. What of the power limit range? And do you think it is better to buy this or buy the 4050 because of DLSS 3.0 and frame gen?
@@ikennaonwunli5072 the 3050 low power is in this model, I had a much higher wattage 3050 in the LOQ. Frame generation is massively overrated but dlss 3 is nice. Been waiting for this one. Well done!
What an amazing little machine! Wish the RAM wasn't soldered, but other than that, it's beautiful.
thank you for this!
Great vid!
I got this laptop for 900 dollars after discounts for school. Good to see such a small form factor can still stand its own in games.

@manithperera6330 for real after it finishes charging in the morning it is super super hot. Is that normal?
@MasterKingHawk It gets warm on mine if its charging up from a low level. If you have rapid charge on, it could be causing more heat too.

You can run 1440p. But you’ll need scaling (dlss) in the most demanding titles.
Thank you for the response. Do you think it will be able to run Cyberpunk 2077 at medium/high settings?
Do you find a big difference between overclocking and stock? Would it be a negligible upgrade or is it worth to have the OC on at all times?

how to fix auto low down light in this computer i cant do that
Is that MSI Afterburner's OSD for the stats? Thanks for another great video!
Yes that’s it
Picked up the 2023 model with 120hz for $450 at best buy open box. 100% worth it.
damn. absolute score
Does this have NVIDIA advanced optimus?
Is it possible to use integer scaling and limit fps to keep temps lower?
Sure. Might not need integer scaling, just use dlss and set a FPS cap
I have the same laptop, but I can't seem to find the GPU overclocking feature.
Same thing
Same..lol@@majestic4736
Re-check now
How is the temp of the laptop while you are gaming? Is it burning hot or bearable. I see that the CPU can go upto 99 degrees. Isn’t that concerning?
This one runs pretty cool. The new 7840hs runs daily cool and the gpu doesn’t get hot.

I noticed the heat issue on mine and I decided to get a laptop raiser so it can get more airflow and it dropped 5-10 degrees by doing so.

3050 is 4gb vram and 4050 is 6gb...
Or is there something I don't know?
This is a 2023 refresh of the 3050. They added 2gb vram to now have 6gb. Meaning it’s much more viable than the original 3050 in modern titles
