your engine doesnt have a rev limiter its just that at that rpm is where you float your valves if you want to get more rpms out of it you need beefier valve springs but that comes with risks like exceeding any speed limitations that the crank and cam might have andafter a point maby how strong your valves are

its always been a thing to do it on the cheap, you just fill the crank case enough that the rod can dip into the oil. It wont last forever but will be enough to have fun with for awhile. Other things ive done is just get a piece of sheet metal and make a dipper and bolt it to one rod bolt, works well.

I need to do the opposite. Mount a horizontal shaft engine vertically. Since I am in California I cannot legally buy a new engine for my riding mower. My engine had something try to exit the crankcase via a non-engineered exit hole.
Harbor Freight has only small vertical engines, I need a 17 HP or larger. But Harbor Freight does have large horizontal engines. Engines For Less, and other vendors, will not ship their 17 HP vertical engines to California.

Yo Genius. If you install an oil slinger from a horizontal shaft engine, you'll be fine. If not best of luck! Oh the oil slinger is mounted on the cap of the connecting rod. Just thought i'd mention since you seem to be an expert. LOL Best of luck in all your endeavors. I mean that!
