I love my 2017 1.0 smart. Suspension is top, good braking and control. I drove up to 180 km/h on N4 as "test". I travel between Pretoria and Jane furse, R300 for " juice" . It was amazing.

She said this picanto is the same size as the previous one, so how was the boot upgrade to 255L cause the previous picanto didnt have that much room for rear passengers

In order to have made this great value, Kia should have really offered a small turbo and add cruise control as well as safety features like side airbags and ESP at this price.
if the GT line gets here it has all of that. and besides the car with just front air bags has a better safety rating than the polo..and if you have ever driven one with the 1.2 motor you will know it doesnt need a turbo it gives a 1.4 polo a hiding power wise.
Yusuf Petersen And it will be overpriced. Haha. I have driven the 1.2 Picanto and it is sluggish and lethargic and can barely make it up hills. The engines are severely outdated and underpowered. There are far better cars for that money.
yaa you mustv drivern the 1.0 and as engines go they are fairly modern. i.e, the 1.4 polo vivo is 64kw and the 1.25 kia picanto is 66kw I've driven up to cape town cable car with 4 passengers no problem it needs some revs but what doesnt for the size the motor is plenty strong. and yes far better cars but then you going into second hand market. and besides in the morning the kia will still be where you last parked it with all its badges
Yusuf Petersen Really? To assume I don't know what I'm saying? Gosh you're full of it. My friend has the top spec Picanto 1.25 EX manual. It is sluggish and irritating to drive on inclines. Let's not even mention when the AC is on...it may just roll backwards down the hill. Their engines are terrible. It may show that amount of KW but they never perform like what they say on paper. They overstate these figures. And no. There are better brand new cars like the new Sandero Stepway. A top spec model costs R189,900 and still has sat nav, pdc, side airbags, ESP (a critical safety feature), LED lights as well, a proper modern turbo engine that makes a breeze of inclines and a 5 year 150000km warranty and a STANDARD service plan. It is also a bigger car meaning this underpowered Picanto is just ridiculously overpriced like all Hyundai and Kia products these days.
Dude really you picking a fight over a matter of opinion. i stand behind it as a product as a package yes this segment is very competitive and there are better cars but then you compromise on other smaller things nothing in this segment is really value for money as they are overpriced in my opinion and all are good in different ways. you feel that way then fine. thats why there are different products for all the many different opinions and customers. and yes the stepway is a better car but its not this segment.. so your whole argument about it falls short(small city car)

akshaar ramsurwaj Polo and Vivo is overpriced but this is competing with the polo at the 200k mark
having had both cars Polo and Picanto.. i can tell you if you want the VW badge and space with 1990s wind up windows go for the Polo if you want reliability edgy styling and a more fuel efficient car with a little less space boot wise(only downside) then go for Picanto
Lutha the power output on a polo is better as well as the 0-100 time.
Yusuf Petersen never had any issues with polo GTI, reliability is perfect if serviced on time and not modified. After a few years the picanto will definitively not run like it was brand new. Furthermore the polo will trade far better
its a GTI so durrr. and guys its a matter of opinion no need to get heavy on it i just made my opinion known as i have one and it has its strengths and hits above its w8 even tho its in the class of a VW Up! for example
Unacceptable price. Ridiculous. For R189,900 one can get a top spec Sandero Stepway which also comes with sat nav, park distance control, LED lights as well and long warranty. It also has a modern turbo engine and unlike these cars, critical safety features like ESP too. It also has cruise control which, together with the turbo engine, makes long trips a breeze. It is also a larger and more spacious car. Kia and Hyundai are drunk these days. Their cars are overpriced and are no longer the value proposition.

220 kph top speed for a city car doesn't make any sense. Besides, with a 5 gear gearbox, it will be impossible to reach.

Leather its not, its vinyl, yuk!
The auto box (torque converter) is great. The competition use automated manuals which are awful with clutches that last 30-40K miles! The manual is only 1 mpg better so why bother with it.

15mm longer wheel base! Leather - no, perforated grey vinyl, horrible. Go cloth. Go 3 spec not the X or GT.
Mustard colour sucks, go black or white.
