Started pursing my degree last year. This was a good video and allows me to plan a head on what skills and things to work on. As soon as I complete my AS I will be jumping into my BA, but I will start on certs and try to get my CAPM before I graduate so I can start a junior pm role.
I stumbled upon your channel and I'm so glad I did! I was recently laid off from my QA Manager role and trying to pivot into PM. I've managed projects on the QA side which I hope is an advantage. I'm finishing up the Google PM Cert which is pretty awesome. I'm currently SAFe 6 and Lean GB certifird which are both touch points in the Google course. I look forward to learning more from you as I prep for the PMP!
I think if you can't find junior BA or PM roles, a good avenue for getting your foot in the door is to try and get a tester role. A tester has to pay attention to details, interact with developers and PMs. This is from a software project pov. Don't stop as a tester. Make suggestions, lead where appropriate and keep looking to move up.
Studying for the CAPM right now. I have some experience in leading a team in my current role and I am an army vet. I want a remote job. Where can I go to refine my resume and make a good cover letter? Also where can I get some interview prep
Hey Israel! First, thank you for your service. I’d recommend reaching out to your colleagues (current or past professional / military) for a resume review/interview prep, they’d be able to give you constructive feedback. Think through what industries you’re interested in and that can help you narrow your search. Goodluck!
Hello Max, im currently a college student about to complete my B.A. in Philosophy and minor in Communication. In addition, I will be beginning my Masters in Project Management this May. Since I do not have experience in the field will I encounter an uphill battle in landing a job?
best route with little to no PM experience is to apply broadly for entry-level PM positions and develop your skill set through the work itself - goodluck!
I would love a video on resume building for entry level PM roles 🙏🏽
Noted. Future video coming soon!
