2 questions...1. is running the node requiring same mining resources or is it different than mining? 2. how much resources (costs/day) does running a node use up on the PC? Again i thought nodes didn't require as much energy as say gpu/cpu mining.
i think it would depend on hardware for the node running cost. normally youll pull about 50w for the motherboard and then you can check how much load your cpu is under and then check the power draw of the cpu and factor that percentage. for example say your cpu is under 50% load then you can roughly calculate that your cpu power draw is 50% of the max it can draw. so you add the power draw from the motherboard and then the cpu load and that how much it cost tpo run per day. thats only for the node

@@wadevid node can be run seperate to miners, but yes your PC will have to draw extra power if you run a miner and a node on the same PC. Also kaspa will remain gpu minable but the ASIC's are reducing the profits

When I try to mine to the node I set up from a different rig it shows time out lost connection not reachable..need some help tried running the bridge on the other rigs but it just go away immediately after opening.

make sure to run the stratum alongside the node at all times. if that isnt the problem there could be an issue with your internet provider for your ip, you cant use a vpn because it would not connect to the same IP. dont use wifi, have ethernet. i cant properly solve the problem but make sure you arent doing any of the above listed but if that doesnt work, uninstall everything and re-do the setup

Hi, I wonder if you can assist. I have followed the instructions, bridge works great and i can see it connecting the Kas Pad. moving on i have downloaded the latest "lolMiner_v1.77b_Win64.zip" and made the changes to the file "mine_kas_with_oc" only version available. once changes where saved, i proceeded to run the aforementioned and LolMiner 1.77 appears on the screen as well as a few lines of data and not much else beyond that point. Upon checking back to the bridge i see my worker name but nothing in the avg Hashrate etc etc. Please can you advise what you thing i may have done incorrect. Many thanks
I have never encountered that problem, normally the miner doesn’t even work but yours seems to connect. If it’s connected then it should run fine but it could also be a problem with the batch file like you are running too high on overclocks or that you haven’t ran lol miner as an administrator

Likewise, i have never ran LOL miner in my life before yesterday, in fact, never mined until i downloaded unmineable which works ok. I wanted to give the solo a try in case the results where better. My Pc has a AMD CPU and 4070 GPU, not the best of course but far from the worst.

I’m having a problem opening up the Casper bridge file it is not opening up. It just goes blank after you click on the run. Anyway on the windows protection PC and it’s been added to my windows. Defender Exclusion list.
advantage is that you have basically zero ping to the node, and this helps you get blocks on the network because it will favour the best connection. the disadvantage is the luck on the network solo
the benefit of mining to your own node is that your decentralizing the network.. disadvantages are that you need alot of hashrate and a fast connection speed to compete with other miners ... there is a reason why alot of pools are always hitting blocks .. its because they are peer connected to fast nodes that can push it on the network before anyone else .. addpeer in the kdx settings of whoever got the highest block when you restarts your miner .. you can find peer address in the kaspad while you sync
Possible to ask if I'm mining Abt 5 thousand kas with Asics, is it better to mine solo or pool? My experience is pool charge higher commission than they stated. Thanks all for your input
ks bridge v1.2.0 is the bridge you need to use iceriver and in the config yaml file you can leave min share diff as default which is the min share diff for a ks3 .. or change it to 80 .. it really don't matter as long as your var_diff setting is set to true

What is the difference for how much you can min based on setting up a machine with a dedicated amd or nvidia gpu or just running on a 8 core vpw? I unded up just runing unminable for now as bz miner/ lol miner needed a gpu but was just curious if i should look to build a machine to mine kaspa and take it off the work vps and iff it would be worth it @@SterlingSpecter1

bridge is probably failing because of the IP. it has to connect outwards. add me on discord @sterlingspecter and ill try help you out

So i have done everything but thr bridge shows lost connection to stratum server

in theory it would work, but your network connection would be slow which means you should submit a lot of invalid shares when mining

Should only take an hour if you are on the snapshot, if your downloading the full node it could take a while
