Website says you can earn $0.3 per day. If they mean 3 cents, it'll take 5000 days just to pay this off, not counting your electric bill. If they mean 30 cents per day it's 500 days, not counting electric bill. $9 per month... how are these even worth it? They're not.
Got one of these a week and a half ago, it's fantastic - consumer grade hardware that puts out a decent amount of gentle heat without much noise (great for a desktop heater). A decent 4TH/s hash rate means it pays for itself (so the heating is free).
This is a game changer for the at home miner! At the price point and power needs it will be an entryway for many more people to join the Crypto network. The issue with power supply is unsettling and needs to be addressed by Canaan. I really want some of these !!
The miner draws 90w. But the outlet says 104w. That is 90w for the miner AND 14w in efficiency loss for your power transformer. Your power transformer has a 86% efficiency and is wasting into heat and other losses 14w.. A tip is to maybe use a power transformer that uses GaN technology that has less losses.👍
My opinion: any 120V profitable miner is great to get new home miners into the game. The price of these are great, we'll see if they are still profitable after the halving though.

I'm not getting the economics of this yet. I'm obviously overlooking something. If you make $.40 a day x 30 = $120 a month x 12 = $1,440 a year. But you power use is say... 140w x 24 hours, x 30 days = 100800w, x or 100KW. In CA that's about $.30 a kw, or $33.5 a month x 12 = $405. So, you clear roughly $1k a year if you have no added costs or maintenance? Is that why you bought 7 more - to make it generate 7K a year?

Website says you can earn $0.3 per day. If they mean 3 cents, it'll take 5000 days just to pay this off, not counting your electric bill. If they mean 30 cents per day it's 500 days, not counting electric bill. $9 per month... how are these even worth it? They're not.

Got one of these a week and a half ago, it's fantastic - consumer grade hardware that puts out a decent amount of gentle heat without much noise (great for a desktop heater). A decent 4TH/s hash rate means it pays for itself (so the heating is free).

That is 90w for the miner AND 14w in efficiency loss for your power transformer.
Your power transformer has a 86% efficiency and is wasting into heat and other losses 14w..
A tip is to maybe use a power transformer that uses GaN technology that has less losses.👍

I'm not getting the economics of this yet. I'm obviously overlooking something. If you make $.40 a day x 30 = $120 a month x 12 = $1,440 a year. But you power use is say... 140w x 24 hours, x 30 days = 100800w, x or 100KW. In CA that's about $.30 a kw, or $33.5 a month x 12 = $405. So, you clear roughly $1k a year if you have no added costs or maintenance? Is that why you bought 7 more - to make it generate 7K a year?
