The GMP Policy on BWV, in section 3, states - You must read the College of Policing’s Body Worn Video Guidance document. And that document states - Starting a recording If the recording has started prior to the user’s arrival at the scene of an incident, they should, as soon as is practicable, announce to those present that recording is taking place and that their actions and sounds are being recorded. Yup good audit. Nice voice-over. Some points, for you to mull over. Not criticism, just things to consider. First well done. It can take balls and you showed us this. Next is that a PCSO has limited powers. Pretty much the same as you and I. So when they bound over like that demanding answers (effectively using what's called "colour of law" to intimate you into giving information about yourself) the first thing you could do is ask for their "designation card"!. This should be handed to you. Take your time and read one. This will put you in charge. If they won't then tell them to "go fish" elsewhere because they HAVENT proved to you who or what they are and represent. Third, keep the camera thing about telling you until later. If you later require that footage, and you have your footage, then that individual can get into deep poo. So later, just request the footage under an a pseudonym or a relative that doesn't mind and see if the have it. If they don't you can write to many people and get folk in trouble and get a written apology 🤣 Just a few things that might make you different. Keep em coming. Subbed. 👍

Nellyontheland I'm thinking out loud.... If cop doesn't inform person camera is on (and is recording video and audio of subject).........if the cop when confronted about not informing subject.....then says they do not have to notify you at the first available opportunity... Does this mean the video recording is covert and therefore that cop must have authority from above to conduct covert recording? And without authority from above(I expect in writing as it means it is a very serious matter), then the captured information is null and void and must be destroyed by the police If the cop doesn't follow their own policy, can the video and audio captured prior to the subject being informed..... Is this the point at which any prior recording cannot be used as evidence in any form in any type of legal proceedings?

Didn't like how PCSO #71120 approached and spoke to AAUK, very unprofessional, he even had the cheek to tell the auditor to turn his phone off which was an unreasonable request. PCSO #71120 showed a level of dislike/distain towards AAUK, the PCSO clearly didn't like the fact the auditor was filming him and made no genuine effort to be friendly and welcoming with AAUK. This is why there is such a disconnect between the police and the public because a large majority of constables, officers and PCSOs lack the proper social skills nowadays to interact with members of the public in a professional, respectful and friendly manner. No sooner had PCSO #71120 arrived on scene to chat with AAUK, he and his colleague left, I'm guessing that whoever spoke to him in the police van probably told the PCSO that AAUK was one of those auditors and he's recording the station to try and provoke a negative reaction from officers, so best to leave him alone and just walk away. PCSO #71120 came out with quite a few statements which either didn't make sense or sounded farfetched and BS, he used the PC waving at AAUK through the window as a lame and pathetic excuse or reason to come out and speak with the auditor to see if he needed help/assistance. The PCSO was under the impression that because he identified himself to AAUK that the auditor was under some sort of obligation to provide his name, this a common underhand tactic PCSOs, constables and officers use on the public to make them feel guilty and coherced into giving up their personal information when they're not required to by law. The miserable and depressed look on PCSO #71120' face said a lot to me about this personal character as a human being, it's enough to give any member of the public the reasonable belief and impression that they are interacting with an unpleasant person.
