This video needs to go viral. People need to wake up and realize that this is a broken system. When the constitution was written this wasn't an issue but now it is. We need to adapt and change with the needs of the people

I swear my county's padding grades in order to receive funding.

They shouldn’t have to pad grades to receive funding. In fact, if grades are low, they need more help

@@Charles-pf7zy I disagree, if grades are lower that is a failure on the part of the teachers and the parents. Why waste money?

Teacher here, you could fail a kid but administrators will pass them. So yes you are correct

Education vs. indoctrination vs. socialization. So, which one is the responsibility of public education and whose ideas should be taught and why?

Now, funding should (with some flexible application to current local / community financial needs) be partially be by following the student (Noting that lots of households with no children help fund some basis for educations -- as well, The U.S. needs / needed to be more proactive than waiting -- such as *after* administrations did unwisely/corruptively invest the US {And rest of the world} into pandemic crisis making then haphazardly and costly go into generally haphazardly hurried into hybrid schooling, duh we are so innovative yet for mostly toys and bs party political system governing/money grubbing -- crises made largely by buddy-system and contrived schemes for extremes of conflicting interest/profiteering-based extremely complex legislation and blindly-look-the-other-way instead of healthy oversight as people bold and open like RFK was -- people like that that face the corruptive and secretive toxic bs machine we might as well call the US of cooked books funding the death care party system). Defund the party system (automatically getting rid of Citizen's United bs). In mean time, fund public, home-based, private, hybrid, known "Legit" schooling showing {audited very well} for positive basic general *unbiased* results - shut down chronically failing schools/extremely suspect teachers and other influencers. Understand that just as high paid in any profession does not equal unbiased / healthy minded results {Look at the often high-paid lobby that have infiltrated our Congresses for decades with no major difference except mostly negative and extremely costly results} -- Still, pay public educators *well, yet as anyone with major expectations and workloads placed upon them -- in the currents of decades' legacy of frequent unhealthy nutritioned and over-chemicalized and distracted by whatnot (phones, fear of our generally bad governing government and it's frequent use of fear based spinning, aggressive warring, extremes of intensive resources burned up, etc, violence, domestics, holier than though internal and international relations, etc), Yet get class sizes down to between 10 and 15 students, maybe 20 at most for most (not all) schooling's classes (With some hybrid efficiencies that should have been more invested into well by early 2000's). With say 20 to 60 or so percent of funding following the students (If homeschooling does not include well-done oversight to ensure that cross-community outreach including basic costs for sports / other group events / schooling {Field learning like nature's science. group music, etc} then say 20% {Of local/regional or state average per pupil public funding} follows the student, if fuller homeschooling outreach / field learning checks out well, then 40+/- percent of average funding follows students, Keep these funding brackets simple, not too complicated formulas to keep auditing relatively simple. If / when public tax based funding does follow students, auditing includes the testing of students for basic *general* regional / national / international knowledge and applications - this general knowledge / applications examining should of course be unbiased to any of the personal beliefs and or faith-based curricula that might be included in the student's learning / curricula. Brick and mortar investments should be more about serving community learning / activity instead of the 1950's style rigid-classroom, not to say that is obsolete, yet lots of evidence is bearing obvious lacking and negative results for EVERYONE. Best and be cognizant that the party-system politics / divisiveness is destroying this country and it's ability to improve, positively and thoughtfully innovate, govern itself into being a more perfect union - not perfect, yet we have definitely let it stray into much negative in recent decades as quite a few previous citizens / open and honest leadership had warned us of the building and generally unhealthy leadership and frequently unhealthy following we are experiencing and experiencing the results of largely.

Wow. It's almost as if our founding system was centered on prioritizing the Bible, which is the book that made reading such a big deal. Any school that wants to have that same priority should definitely receive community support. The rest are deluded and deluding our children.
