Probably carwow is a main reason why everyone here is disappointed. 10yrs ago, this was a special video. In 2020, we‘ve been watching carwow every week and everyone knew it would be the Porsche to win on the quarter mile and the Ferrari on the half mile. Plus, we all wanted one race with 10 cars, that‘s what it was about

Well it's not really a stock 911, rather a stock 911 Turbo S, already quite different from the stock 911 Carrera. The 992 Turbo S still comes in at 200k dollar. But yes, still impressive :)

I watched a Lamborghini aventador vs 812 super fast vs 911turbo S on Carwow. Tell me why the Porsche 911 turbo s was able to beat the Ferrari 812 but not this Ferrari and the 812 is more powerful? Even when they were pulling from like 50 mph. This drag race was Rigged
@Maverick I agree with you; however, in my option, I think it is time to change the rules. As cars get more HP and electric, I believe the new performance benchmark should be 0-60 -> 0-100 mph and 1/4 -> 1/2 mile. We now have big 4 dr sedans (M5, E63) doing 0-60 in 3 secs; not too long ago 3 secs was the time to 0-30mph.
And it was rigged too. Porsche won fair and square, how did the Porsche start pulling when the Ferrari passed it? Some secret rocket booster we don't know about? No, it wasn't going full speed.

The C8 has beaten the GT500 in multiple reviews and videos in the 1/4 on the street. Don't let video editing fool you. That let off could have come after the 1/4. The C8, more often than not, has crushed the GT500 in street races.
Its not a joke. Computers are monitoring the exhaust air pressure from which turbo turbine blades retract and move according to the pressure applied to these blades,give boost as per the rpm. It happens in variable geometry turbos.

Brooks from Dragtimes conducted a similar drag race between the F8 Tributo and 992 Turbo S Cabriolet, in which the Porsche gets off the line first, but is eventually beaten by the more powerful Ferrari, similar to what is shown here.
Well if you think of it the 911 costs 100k less than the Ferrari and it only lost to 0.03 seconds in a 1/2 mile, and the 911 is technically a sports car not a super car, this just makes the Ferrari look slow, it’s mind blowing how fast a stock turbo s is😂

No it didn’t, it’s the Carbon Package. It has so much drag at speed. So the GT500 had the power to catch up but once it hit triple digits the aero starting acting like a parachute.

Agreed the GT500 traps 132+ easily in the 1/4 and C8 traps 120 on a good day! That's a hugh differnce and that means GT500 would of rocketed on the top end! Shoot a 2018 Coyote with just an e85 tune making 470 wheel pulls away from a c8!

They should at least have the ZR1 not the Z51 or even better put Hennessy's 1200HP C8 up there which will still be cheaper than the Ferrari but I bet you a ZR1 would probably beat the Ferrari and the Hennessy V8 would spank all of them guaranteed and it still wouldn't be the most expensive car in the race...

As cars get more HP and electric, I believe the new performance benchmark should be 0-60 -> 0-100 mph and 1/4 -> 1/2 mile. We now have big 4 dr sedans (M5, E63) doing 0-60 in 3 secs; not too long ago 3 secs was the time to 0-30mph.

How fake the GT500 was pulling in the Corvette so fast and all of a sudden the Mustang stops gaining on Corvette I think that a 10 year old child would pick up on how staged that race was.
The C8 has beaten the GT500 in multiple reviews and videos in the 1/4 on the street. Don't let video editing fool you. That let off could have come after the 1/4. The C8, more often than not, has crushed the GT500 in street races.

Its not a joke. Computers are monitoring the exhaust air pressure from which turbo turbine blades retract and move according to the pressure applied to these blades,give boost as per the rpm.
It happens in variable geometry turbos.

That tributo is capable of high 9s low 10s but I do agree they are paid they will always pick who pays. Like they always been Chevy ppl. So GT500 takes a c8 in any half mile or 1/4 mile. It actually launched wayyyy better and was sitting next to the c8 in that race. Every race ever the GT500 just runs passed the c8 at the end.

Sorry but the GT500 was at the rear of the c8 right after launch everyone knows at the end of a 1/4 and half mile the GT500 is gone.-you see Randy pulling right next to him and basically stop hitting the gas. How did you come to the conclusion that Ferrari paid their way to the top? Have you conducted any real-world testing against the two vehicles which would prove otherwise? Clearly not. Brooks from Dragtimes conducted a similar drag race between the F8 Tributo and 992 Turbo S Cabriolet, in which the Porsche gets off the line first, but is eventually beaten by the more powerful Ferrari, similar to what is shown here.

I've watched all 9 previous World's Greatest Drag Races and was impressed sharing the clips with others...but this was a noticeable step back and dissappointing overall.
