UPDATE: Cats Rescued from Hoarder!

At the end of July we rescued 39 cats and kittens that had been abandoned in a house… today, almost half of them have found foster homes or permanent homes! As you can see they're all doing much better and we're so happy that we were able to rescue them :)

It's just instinct to laugh at cats doin' dumb shit but that made me realize how bad it really is. But hey, there's always darkness in humor and that's why humor exists, to relieve stress and help us not worry to much or think too hard about the bad side of things.

I brought Windsor, now Annabeth, home yesterday! She's still adjusting since my apartment is quite a bit louder than where she was! I'm giving her words of encouragement and hopefully she'll feel comfortable enough to come out from under the bed soon enough!

I am SO impressed with this woman. You can tell how involved she is and how much she truly cares about the cats. It warms my heart. I myself have 2 adopted cats that both came from tough situations and I love them with all my heart. It took some time but it's amazing what a good home did for them, they completely came out of their shells. Thank you so much for all you do and putting yourselves in a risky situation to help these cats. Best of lucky in the future! I would love to donate if need be!

My grandmother owns two rescue cats that went from skittish to spoiled rotten! :) It's amazing what a good home can do to your pets, even ones that didn't come from tough situations. She has a Tortoiseshell and that cat went from being afraid of it's own shadow and running away from everything to an extremely affectionate lap cat. Just takes time, effort and patience. ♥ But it's definitely worth it.
Maitlin Ullom......I totally agree......this lady knows her kitties. I just love people like her.....( and Chris...lol!) .... who are all about their animals!! Isn't it beautiful thing seeing all the cats in a clean, thriving, environment, talkative, etc. Then this awesome lady has lil notes saying how each cat is progressing, their personality, etc! The cats are sooo content & thriving....some still a bit scared.....but that's no doubt expected. Great video......Thanks again!!!

Every day after school I see a black cat on a sidewalk. He's a stray cat and I named him sölembum. Sölembum REALLY likes attention but he's a stray cat so he doesn't get much of that. My dad said if I show enough responsibility I will be able to take the cat in. I am really really striving to adopt the cat, and I hope one day I can adopt him.

So i used to walk by a house everyday on my way to school . The garden was up to peoples knees and was full of weeds and nettles. there was always 3 kittens at the window . i told the council , the vet and the rspca . no one did anything . i did reaserch and found out the woman died in there and they took her out and ignored the cats so i ended up breaking in to the house with my mum and we rescued six cats . the best thing is the spare room in my house was full of junk so me and my mom took all the junk out and the cats have a whole room to theire self and they had loads of fleas we microchipped them spadded them just cared for them . there names are byrone,tofte,luna,bridget,fenny and ambrose
Ava Pulliam I have a stray that my son& I took in, and I can tell you that stray cats make wonderful pets. They are so appreciative, and they learn so quickly. I love my cat and wouldn’t change anything about her🐈❤️🐾

i absolutely love that you named them all after royalty. that's really sweet. it's like their castle was attacked by flees and sickness and they were rescued and put back on their thrones. weird way to think about it haha

You can see that a lot of them are family from each other , the facial structeres etc.
The whole cat hoarding thing probably started with 2 or 3 cats. A lot of inbreeding later it turned into 50

If it were closer to Historical accuracy...Diana would have been put in the cage with Charles and Camilla...
It's funny how scared the cats were back when they were being rescued but when the girl went to give the food out to all the cats some of them were jumping at the cage and two were trying to see who could meow the loudest! So heartwarming, I am so glad you guys went out of your way to rescue the hopeless little souls, but look at them now! They have all blossomed into beautiful creatures! I would take every single one home if I could!

I'm late but when I rescued my two cats they were so scared they hid under the couch and I had to basically drag them out and hand feed them and now, almost 2 years later they're spoiled and all they do is eat 😂
My cat is literally giving me a massage as I watch this lol. I’m so glad that none of the cat were put down and that you all actually took the time to socialize the cats to where they can get adopted. They are all so cute and you all are so wonderful.

You can tell most of the cats look the same which means they’ve probably been left there for a while with breeding and stuff. Also I’m so happy you guys rescued them. :)
Fun fact: Cats can inbreed and it won't affect anything physically or internally
Erik Samøssen Actually, inbreeding does cause defects, but there was such a large amount of cats, I doubt much inbreeding happened.

Feral cats would be much more stressed than these cats are in their clean cage homes. While they aren’t feral, what happened to them has definitely negatively affected their mental health. It’s all about them warming up to the idea that they don’t need to fend for themselves, and that they deserve love!

I fully recognize that "Feed me, Meow!" sound. I have five, all rescues, that do that to me at every meal. It is just so precious to see them healthy, happy and so full of life after what they've all been through.

I rescued my boy from a hoarder. She had 40 cats in an apartment, along with her special needs daughter. Entering the apartment and seeing the cats literally jumping from the ceiling was one of the most overwhelming things I had ever seen. It took him months to trust me when I took him home cause he was almost 2 years old and had never experienced getting petted. He still hates the idea of living with another cat again. Whoever can, please adopt these babies and make them feel special and loved!
I'm trying to learn more about hoarder cats. Apparently they profile differently than other rescues. Could you share more about your cat?
OH MY GOSH hearing them all meow and interact so brightly, it's so uplifting!! They all look so much healthier and happier. I'm so happy for them. Y'all have done amazing work.
I love them "blepping" with their tongues. My kitties do this too and it's like they're not aware when their tongues stick out.

There was a cat that always visted my dad when my parents didnt live together yet, and so when my parents moved in dad felt stressed so he wENT AND CATNAPPED THE CAT!!! That's a good point. Not always ideal to split up a good pair.
That's a very good point, and also, many of these cats will be bonded together because they are all related (at least most of them). You can tell by the similar coats and the green eyes they all seem to have. All those kittens resemble the two white toms that was rescued.

This makes me SOOOO happy! The fleas in the first video legit made me CRY. I have had a cat (a failed foster) for 3 years that was rescued from a hoarder. She still will bolt most times if I approach her too suddenly. It took a year for her to even leave my bedroom and go into the rest of my apartment. She is doing great though. So sweet and loving but a diva as well, haha! Thanks for all you do!!!!

They are beautiful i hope the older cats get adopted i have a soft spot for"difficult" animals the olders, sicker or shy because i know people tend to overlook and go with the nicest or easy ones. I adopted a stray male after two years of winning his trusth with food and love, i spend almost 400 bucks because he had a wound and got infected but worth every penny, 1 year latter he is fat, happy and loved ❤

Yeah, we have a barn FULL of cats. They are doing great and no medical issues but I have noticed that people have been dropping off cats at our barn. One we named fluffer nutter tha is a drop off, he has a limp and I am worried

I'm sad I don't live in America, because then I could adopt one of these cats. I would keep one as a pet. I don't care if it's a "strange" cat, my boyfriend and I already have a kitten who was a stray. He is a "wobbly cat", so he probably has a very mild case of brain damage. I want to take care of these cats and give them the food and love they need and deserve.

Bauhauskiddo aww, maybe it has a mild case of Cerebellar Hypoplasia? I sometimes watch a 24 hour live cam at a cat shelter, and there are many cats with CH there. You're such a kindhearted person for taking in that kitten!
Rach H yes, cerebellar hypoplasia, that's what it's called, I forgot the name of it, thank you! We suspect it's a very mild case of that. He's a silly kitten, sometimes it's like he forgets he has back legs and will start to fight them; if both his front paws and back paws are touching a toy he'll start fighting his back legs because he thinks they're stealing the toy from him. He also shakes when he's about to get food, and has a bit of a wobble in his walk sometimes. He's a very sweet and loving kitten, he loves being petted and likes to sleep tucked in under the blankets like a human. Even though he's a bit different, he's still a very precious cat and it's great to see how he's changed from a small scared lonely stray cat into a happy, well-fed and playful kitten. When we first got him, he was very hungry and would often eat so much and so fast he made himself sick, poor thing. He's also scared of being alone in the dark (starts crying) and gets scared if he hears other cats outside, so maybe he was bullied or threatened by an older cat when he was little. We have no way of knowing what happened to him before we found him, after all.

I have a 3 story house. If the cats are in the attic, they can hear that sound of that can opening. Even though I am on the 1st floor. Sometimes they come running and are very disappointed to realize that it's just a can of tomatoes.
Listening to those MEOWS on a morning would be the best thing ever one could listen to wake up.

Watching videos on You Tube I'm pleased at how many men love cats. It's not just a woman thing. Lots of guys are into helping and raising cats.
It always baffled me as to why it is seen as men like dogs, and women like cats. Never the other way around. It makes zero sense to me. Maybe I'm overthinking it...
There are definitely dog people and cat people, but I don't think man or woman matters. Look at this if you haven't already seen it. This man made several videos of the cat he rescued right up until his death (the cat's). He had him for about 10 years.

Aaawww!! All of those cats are gorgeous, and they all look so similar (probably because they were all together in that house and mated with each other). Windsor has beautiful markings, and Diana's a cutie pie too. I wish I could take them all. Do you guys think you or someone would be able to track down whoever used to own that house so they can be brought up on animal cruelty charges? I hope all of those precious kitties find their furever homes.

they were asked not to disclose the location of the abandoned house where they were rescued from. i think they said it had been abandoned for 8+ months. maybe whoever it was couldn't afford the house and needed to leave and didn't have time to go through the process of finding new homes for all of them. a lot of furniture was left behind. if it had been a proper move i think they would have taken that with them. i think i care more that the cats are doing better rather than what's become of the previous owner
Thank you so much for showing how to do this the right way. So often I'll see a hoarder video, and then they'll say, well, they were putting them all down, because none of them could be saved, and that is not true. Even feral cats can be friendly in a very short time if it's done correctly as you can see. We've been rescuing for about 30 years now placed over 300. TNR'd I don't know how many. But the most grateful and appreciative cats have been the ones that were feral and got a home for life. We don't have a colony anymore, but we still rescue from the local pound senior cats turned in. They're usually at death's door because they can't believe their owner is gone they usually have stopped eating. We've only lost 1 and the vet thought it was a reaction to the rabies vaccine at the age of 14 which is a very serious problem with re vaccinating senior cats. anyway right now I have seven senior cats Love them All. Pulled them all back from the brink They didn't even have hair most of them.
The vet that helps me was discussing one of them. I had asked him what would do you think I should let it go and he said well it's hard because he's so happy but you know he's sick he had a bad thyroid problem and the medication wasn't working like it should so he'd started to lose weight I said I just wanted him to live long enough to where he knew he was able to trust humans again my vet who is in his 70s got tears in his eyes and said I think we're there. We lost Kubo about 3 months later naturally but Kubo got two full years and about six months in he realized he had a forever home again people who loved him and other kitties he could hang out with. Whatever happened between the day his owner died and the people who had agreed to care for him before dumping him must have been bleak. His proper weight of 10-12 lbs had dropped to 4.5. The central stripe down the middle of his back was hanging all the way down on one side to his stomach. It took me 6 months to convince him he didn't have to sleep or live in the bathroom. I had a wonderful time with him, he's talked a lot, he was a very talkative cat. He got along with everybody and was a gentle soul. But I know he was happy to see his owner on the other side. His passing made room for another rescue. That is the way it is. It breaks your heart to lose one. I do have another one that's been sitting for over 10 years in a lost pet colony. And finally fell for a trap after all these years. He's toothless & He's old. Sounds like a possum when he hisses at me. But I sure hope Roadie learns to love people again too. As matter of fact I know he will.

My cats are royalty also... Violet, Anastasia, Victoria, Diana, Gabriella and Sophia. Only Sophia is left and she's 19.5. Next cats will be Catherine and Julianna. I love my cats so much, how anyone could mistreat a cat is beyond my comprehension. Thanking you all for the work you do to help these abused kitties. It's heartbreaking to think they could have died in those deplorable circumstances.

They are all so beautiful!! I love Charles and his harem!! They’ve come so far!! I have a cat that was a stray as a kitten and was very afraid of humans, especially men! But over time, she learned to trust. Now she follow my son around the house. She can’t wait for him to get home . Gone is the scared little cat that hid under the cabinets for over a week when we brought her home!! that meowing is a wonderful sound!!
It was devastating seeing how they looked in the house. They look so good here! I hope they all found homes.

i'm from germany as well and i would love to adopt another cat.. problem is that my cat is very very agressive towards other cats. i still love her no matter what and she turned 8yo. in february wich i can't believe.. still feels like i rescued her as a kitten like a year ago

A lot of them look a lot less scared :) that's a relief. A few cats even approach to smell the camera! They purr, they let humans pet them. It's great.

Kyanne Summer yeah :) I'm waiting until I have enough money. Right now I have a 9 yo cat who was meant to stay with me for a couple months but won't be leaving since his previous mom can't take care of him anymore. I just fell in love with Tom when I saw him on the video ❤
