I adopted the black and white cat shown at 2:58 about 7 years ago. I named him Oscar. He grew to be fat and happy before passing away of cancer last year. I am so thankful to have given him a home for the last few years of his life because he sure changed mine! I still miss him daily. Humane Society, keep doing what you do!
+Raihan Duzan Thank you for sharing your story, Raihan! It is so wonderful you were able to open up your home and give Oscar a loving environment to spend his final years.
+Raihan Duzan It's really lovely to see a comment form someone who was involved in personally adopting the rescue animals that are shown. More often than not, we don't even get to see them on screen, let alone be able to interact with them via comments.
My deepest condolences on losing Oscar. Thank you for not only opening up your home but your heart to him! I am so glad you were able to give one of 700 of these fur babies a second chance at life! God bless you and his rescuers.
+Danielle Figueroa! Hi!! Thanks for watching the video!! To answer your question, the owners pleaded no contest to 47 counts of animal cruelty. They were sentenced to 15 years of probation along with fines and a prohibition on owning or rescuing any cats. They were also ordered to enter mental health counseling and submit to inspections by the county.
YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME IM A HUGE FAN IM ONLY 9 THO LOL AND HOW OLD DO U HAVE TO BE TO JOIN CUZ IMMA JOIN WHEN I GROW UP!!!!!!! IVE HAD A HUGE PASSION FOR ANIMALS AND I REALLY REALLY WANT TO HELP THEM!
IF YOU SW HOW THEY TREAT PIGS IN CHINA YOU'D CRY YOUR HEAD OFF EVEN THO I COME FROM CHINA ( I'M AUSSIE + CHINESE ) OR EVEN HOW THEY TREAT EVERY ANIMAL! THEY CUT CHICKENS HEADS OFF AND THEY LEAVE THEM TO DIE LIKE THAT! AND THEY LET PIGS HAVE LIKE UM WHATS THE WORD O YEAH LIKE SCABS AND STUFF AND THEY KEEP THEM IN LIKE AN A4 SIZE CAGE AND EVEN THE BIG MUMMY ONES! AND THEY WACK THEM WITH STICKS :( ITS REALLY SAD AND I HAVE 1 Q 1. ARE YOU GUYS VEGETARIANS? :) THX IF YOU REPLIED!
I do believe when cats are rescued from bad situations they know it and appreciate what's been done for them. They respond with love and affection as seen in this video. I bet some of the badly injured cats probably got into fights. What's with these "cat hoarders" anyway? I've never heard of such a thing. The stupidity of some people seems to know no bounds.
Liz Lee I once read a story about a woman whose husband died, so she started collecting cats. She had 65 (maybe more) plus many dead ones in a freezer chest in her garage or basement. A huge number of cats is one thing, but saving their frozen corpses? That goes beyond insane.
Liz Lee It sounds, in theory, like a good idea to limit these jerks, but how can you police it? It's such a huge country with wide open rural areas, how would anyone keep track of a person or persons who decide to amass a large number of cats, dogs, whatever. Then you have the problem of government not necessarily thinking this is a problem and limited financial resources. It's a mess. I think all we can do is count on volunteers to do the best job they can such as in the case of this video.
Liz Lee maybe people get a few cats to “rescue “ them. They think that more cats= more Cats rescued. They can’t feed to have enough room for the cats and it just spirals out of control.
The government could do something right and teach people of all ages and offer credit to volunteer and take care of these beautiful kitties.. so precious fur babies.. safe, Loved, shelter, food and you wonderful hero’s that saved!!
Rescued the friendliest cat in the world from a Walmart parking lot. Young, terribly skinny kitty begged me for food, and I just couldn't leave her there. My family is allergic to cats so we had to rehome as soon as possible but I helped that kitty find her perfect owner. They really love one another.
+Natalie MacDonald - There is one in just about every city and they all need help. Even if it is just to sit and pet the cats (give them love & attention) or to walk the dogs for exercise and fresh air. In high school here, all the kids have to do so many hours of community service before they graduate, so my son decided to walk the dogs at the local shelter.... he got more out of it than the dogs! (I was in the cat room... hehe) If you can do that, call your local animal shelter. I'm sure they would love to have you come and help with the animals. Bless You! :)
I will never forget the day we adopted Grant. He may be the one shown at 1:15 in the video. These people spent at least 3 months getting these animals ready for their forever homes. How do you pick one cat out of three wear-houses full? He's pure white beautiful, mild tempered, awesome bundle of white fur. They estimated him at 4years at the time. He is now 13. Precious loving baby. Many times as he sits on my lap I have wondered what he may have gone through in his previous life. I just want to thank the Humane Society for all they are doing for so many abused animals. Thank you for such a wonderful addition to our lives.
The first scene that shows this man cradling a frightened and injured kitten honestly made me cry. To imagine what that poor thing has gone through is astonishing. I hope all of these cats find loving, warm homes.
U and the people part of the "The HUMANE SOCIETY" are soooooooooooooooo kind to rescue animals that get abused and dumped in horrible conditions ;) tears of joy.
I don't understand why people would want to hurt any animal. This made me have tears. I hope these beautiful cats found loving homes. I'm just annoyed on how people thinks it's okay to abuse/neglect gods creatures
I cried. I am currently awaiting volunteer orientation for my local cat shelter in New Jersey, where the cats are treated so much better than this. They live in clean, well taken care of conditions, and receive quality, kind care from the nice veterinarians. One of my two cats, who I got fro there, was rescued when she was pregnant and eating out of a dumpster. They helped her give birth and I got to adopt her and one of her kittens. When we looked at them in the shelter, they had a clean litter box, a soft blanket, toys, water, and food. They were safe, loved, and taken care of. When her kitten got an eye infection, they gave him eye drops and medication and he got better. THIS IS HOW CATS AND ALL ANIMALS NEED TO BE TREATED!!!
OMG so sweet of you ever since i was 6 (7 years later now) i have always wanted to be a animal cop or work as a vet or how these people come in to change their litter box and give the cats love.......since i am not old enough to gt a job yet i volunteer at an animal shelter i did a bake sale for the shelter and i was able to donate 170 dollars i was so happy to know i was helping the poor animals that needed homes
Charlotte Hines Hi! Thank you for watching our video and commenting on it. That is great that you volunteer at an animal shelter and did a bake sale to raise money for them. Keep up the great work!!
Charlotte Hines, you need to have a strong stomach because of smells, and have a strong mental mind due to the sadness and horror, and a strong body. Volunteer at your local shelter to socialise the animals for a start. When you are 18 or older you can join the volunteer rescue group that rescues lost, abandoned or buried animals after natural disasters, I can't remember the name of them, but I know there was a TV show on either animal planet or the weather channel. I wish you luck
I have a cat called Cinder, she was a stray kitten until my da decided to bring her home she is now an adorable, playful, fluffy, clean cat it's been a year already. I'm so proud of her, she is also quite chubby now. God knows what will happen if she wasn't brought to our home. Also keep us the good work, you guys are doing fantastic ! God bless you all !
We took in a stray kitten running lose in the road about 18 months ago. I cannot imagine what would have become of him if we didn't do the rescue. He got rescued and adopted all in one day. He's a lucky cat and we're lucky to have him.
Mavis Esposito Thank you for adopting Cinder. It seems our stories are similar. Luke now weighs about 15 pounds and is a huge Tom cat. He's also a big baby and loves mom and dad. He sleeps right between us every night. I think he appreciates having been saved. :)
Thank you. I'll see if I can post something on You Tube about him and send you the link. He's basically white with black spots and a black tail. One of his spots is in the shape of a heart! LOL
when I was about eleven years old I saved my first cat off the street he was a flame point Siamese we named him sensei (master in Japanese) sadly he passed away due to kidney failure. my second cat I rescued and absolutely adored was Hibbles. he was a Siamese, tabby mix, colors of a Siamese with light patterns of a tabby, he was so handsome. He was hit by a car and staggered all the back to our driveway before he died, I was at school when it happened, I probably cried for months, but they were the best cats I've ever had. I wish I could also save animals and find them forever homes too.
+Mersadies Hard Hi! You are saving animals and finding them forever homes! Look what you did with Sensei and Hibbles. We are very sorry to hear they passed, but keep on rescuing animals!
+The Humane Society of the United States ; i rescued my cat, hershee, after her mother had gotten eaten by a coyote. her siblings found grest homes too! i believe there was seven kittens total and she was the runt. sadly, about a few months ago, a cat got hit while crossing the street right in front of my mom and i, and we rushed her to the animal hospital. she didn't make it. :( the car had crushed her lungs and she suffocated to death. :(
I know people say keeping cats I doors is cruel. but this is exactly why my best friend fudge lived so long. she was about 9 when she died due to complications from an operation. I would always let her out in the garden if I were there to watch her. my other cats died because they were outside. one was hit by a car and one was attacked by a neighbours dog!
+LadyRavencide13 Absolutely. I took in a stray and never let him out unless he's on a leash, or is in my eyesight around my apartment. I see too many dead pets on the side of the road in my neighborhood, and cats that go outside are at a higher risk of diseases like feline aids. He might get bored sometimes, but it's better than losing him.
Why would they even keep the cats in such conditions? Clearly they weren't selling them. Where's the benefit? Or they just like watching cats suffer. My previous cat I picked up from streets, he was around 1 week old, skin and bones, he already gave up and wasn't even running from big cats who were hissing at him ready to attack. I took him in, gave him a blanket, some water and food, and next day he was happily jumping and playing with us. I never imagined it could feel so good. He grew up into a big handsome smart cat. Guys, don't buy your pets, pick them up from the streets!
The "owner" was a hoarder of cats. Most hoarders of animals don't mean harm to the animals, they think they're doing well. by maybe picking them off the street and giving them a home. Some animal Hoarders don't see the problems with keeping so many animals. It's a mental problem and should be helped, along with the cats.
Sydney DM but they're going to put cats to 'sleep'. And what about the hoarder? Does he also live on top of his own shit? That's true, he/she is super disturbed psycho.
+fermata selin some of the cats that are in poor condition will probably be put to 'sleep' sadly, but the healthier ones will hopefully find good homes. It doesn't really talk about the hoarder in him/her self but I'm guessing that the owner did (or still ) lived there. If not, they're probably living with a family member. So I guess u can say at one point they were a super disturbed psycho ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
having three cats, this makes me sob. these beautiful animals are suffering through hell, getting sick from the fumes of urine and feces. thank you so much for saving them. god bless you people
This makes me so sad, my cat means the world to me and i can't stand seeing cats in this condition, I'm glad their safe now but there are still animals out there being abandoned and it breaks my heart, i would love to rescue animals
Whenever I see these videos I always cry and I'll try to join and help the society as soon as I can!!!!! These animals deserve a right to live a long and healthy life, not in those conditions!
I can't afford to hoard them. If you can't care for them responsibly, you shouldn't have them. We have two now and may go to 3. We've had as many as four. That's the limit. A friend of mine has 8 and cares for all of them but she's reached her limit.
@@1940limited I have 6. They were all adopted after being rescued from various crappy situations. They all know nothing but love and living the spoiled life. They are cared for and then some. We are good at 6, but could push all the way to 8 if we came across some really needy puddie cats. We have an almost 3000 sq ft house with 2 stories so they all have their space if they want it. LoL it seems 4 of them (2 especially) want to plant themselves on my wife and I'd bed. The other 2 go in each of my son's beds. They are all so spoiled.
@@LottiDotti76 We have 6, too, and a very similar situation to yours. Four years ago we had only 2 and thought 4 would be the limit. There's plenty of room for them to have their space, when needed. There's never a problem introducing a new cat to the family. Three of them sleep with us every night. The other three like to stay in the living room on the couch, chairs, the kitty condo, whatever. Sometimes we get as many as 4 in the bed, but usually just the same three, one of which was a stray we adopted about 2 years ago. He wandered into our yard from who knows where, hung around the house for 6 months, so we took him in. Now he lives in the lap of luxury.
THSUS are ANGELS on earth!!!! What you all do for these animals is amazing!!!!! I just wish there were way more people out there like you to save them ALL!!!!! Thank you for everything you do!!!!!
Peace & blessings 10,000 times over to everyone who rescues precious animals. It breaks my heart to see the horrible conditions these poor cats were “living” in, but warms my heart to know they’re in such good hands now. 🙏 Thank you all so much. 💕
You guys are absolutely amazing! It's so overwhelming to see you helping these poor creatures (regardless of wether it's a cat, horse, dog etc.) It's just beautiful! Doing my best here in Austria, Europe. But sometimes it is so hard... Thank you for keeping up this stunning work in the US. greets from Austria
I cried through this whole video. Bless you, these animals only want to be loved and don't deserve it. I wonder what the person who did this would feel like if we treated him/her like that. Animals are no different than us. They are living things and cannot survive in harsh treatment or alone. If you see a stray animal on the street I suggest you keep an eye on and call your local animal rescue service. Don't ever For as long as you live treat an animal like that. If you are thinking of doing that STOP and THINK about HOW WOULD YOU FEEL if that was YOU.
I've been to this place before. It was around 2008, when I was in college and heard about this cat sanctuary and wanted to check it out. This place was called the Haven Acres Sanctuary. I met Pennie, the owner, who was very inspiring to me. She was an ex-animal control officer who was heart broken from seeing so many animals die everyday from euthanasia that she decided to create a space to accept all unwanted cats. At the time there were around 300 cats and she had a team of volunteers that came to help out on weekends. I remember thinking she needed a lot more help and support to run her operation. She was able to keep so many cats because they were enclosed in (cat-proof) fenced areas. Only the sick ones were in crates and she only had 3 cats that lived indoors ( I think they were FIV positive). There were definitely a lot of fleas in the property though, but other than that it was amazing to see someone committed to caring for so many cats. It makes me so sad to see that this is what that place became.
Wow. The humans should have got charged with 700 counts of cruelty. We need better animal cruelty laws up here in canada. I dont think I have ever heard of a hoarder to this extent . If there was I dont think the animals would survive the winter in conditions like these. Keep up the excellent work. ♥♥
When i was seven, I found a orange tabby laying on the side of the road bleeding out. The poor cat was hit by a car and I took it to a vet, hoping that they could do something. The whole time the cat was there I checked on it every single day after school until it was ok. After that I took care of it and named it blaze because of its fur and golden eyes. Few years later she ran away and never came back ;-; I was age 10 when she did and right now I'm a 12 year old helping out any stray animal I come across and pushing people to take better care with their animals :)
+xXShadow The SighnlessXx same with me I know a cat who has an owner but comes to my house we call monty and his owner calls him indie short for Indiana Jones and others like a cat with a mustache pattern and bluey who got blue / grey fur and many more
Every time I watch these videos they always make me cry because I love animals so much! Thank you and please keep having your team grow to keep rescuing :)
I would want to be part of a team like this and do this for the rest of my life helping animals, unfortunately I'm situated and born in a small little city, island which restricts me from saving all the animals out there in the US which is sad for me personally cause I always dreamt of striving for such pursue in my life. Thank you for saving all the animals that are voiceless and being a voice to them makes me feel that not all humanity is lost
hsus I'm a big defender of the animal cause ! i will watch more of your videos as long as I'm not too much hurt. Sometimes my hearth is crying. But we are THEIR voice.
What an amazing thing, to be a part of. Watching them show so much affection. Brought tears to my eyes. I wish I could, just reach into my phone and pull one out. And make it mine🐈💜. You guys are awesome. Thank you, for all your hard work ☺️.
Lo peor, inconcebible, es creer que ese era un "santuario" pues, era el infierno en vida, para una especie tan hermosa como los gatos. Estos animales, merecen trato digno, respeto, cuidados y millones de caricias y besos😻🇲🇽🙏
this is too cruel, those cats were cute, most of them with part of their faces, this make fell sick & cry I love each day my cats from those kitties they don;t have love,God bless you people for save their life is always good to adopt a couple, they play a lot & don't fell alone.
Thank you for rescuing these animals. When I grow up I want to become an animal rescuer and help end animal cruelty. It breaks my heart to see such horrible conditions these animals have to live in. I live in Canada and really want to become an animal rescuer when I grow up. I'm currently 13 and I'm for sure I'll love animals for the rest of my life
🐾🐾🐾👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌈
Every one can do something. Maybe you can not adopt 1000 cats but 1. Maybe you can b a foster home. Or "only" make people more human about this issue. Believe me you can do something, every one can. Let s do something now.

Stacy Ely It's not pathetic to cry for these poor animals
I feel a little better. But still...poor animals!!! They should be happy and cute, making people laugh on RUclips, not sad, hurt and abused. :,(

my cat (a rescue stray) is laying next to me now and just watching this makes me so happy and lucky to have my little girl beside me. :)
I rescued my cat as well, and I am so happy to have her with me today

sadly, about a few months ago, a cat got hit while crossing the street right in front of my mom and i, and we rushed her to the animal hospital. she didn't make it. :( the car had crushed her lungs and she suffocated to death. :(
+The Humane Society of the United States you guyebare awsomeeeeeeee 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😊😊😊😊😊😃😃😃
So I guess u can say at one point they were a super disturbed psycho ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
fermata selin I feel ashamed for buying my cat sometimes but he was a rescued cat anyway soooooo I feel good
My dad's friend's cat had kittens and i got two of them... They lived ok lives
Awe I love how the one cat had a hammock. They are all so beautiful and I would buy all of them if I could!
having three cats, this makes me sob. these beautiful animals are suffering through hell, getting sick from the fumes of urine and feces. thank you so much for saving them. god bless you people
I’m actually crying just look at them all they wanted was love god bless them
I don't live in the USA, but I'd love to be part of a team like this, it's absolutely incredible what you do!
Thanks for your support WhiskersForBiscuits!
I can't believe what people do to these poor animals. I hope everyone of those animals live a happy, well lived life.
This very sad. I'm tearing up. Thank you so much, Humane Society, for all you do, you are amazing people.
God Bless y’all for saving them!!!!💚💜💙💛
I'm rly attached to cats (not to the point where I wanna hoard cats) and this just broke me😞
I can't afford to hoard them.
Heart breaking conditions they were in. Thank you for rescuing them.
These small things that make us human
Thank you from the bottom of my heart
Bless you guys for saving them.
Thank you for supporting us!
@@hsus oh yea
THSUS are ANGELS on earth!!!! What you all do for these animals is amazing!!!!! I just wish there were way more people out there like you to save them ALL!!!!! Thank you for everything you do!!!!!
Peace & blessings 10,000 times over to everyone who rescues precious animals. It breaks my heart to see the horrible conditions these poor cats were “living” in, but warms my heart to know they’re in such good hands now. 🙏 Thank you all so much. 💕

Doing my best here in Austria, Europe. But sometimes it is so hard...
Thank you for keeping up this stunning work in the US. greets from Austria
You guys are doing such a great job saving all those animals keep it up Thank you so much
Poor babies... thank you so much for doing this!
Poor cats 😪😪thankyou for rescuing them🙏🙏
I cried through this whole video.
This world needs more people like you :)
Спасибо огромное за все, что Вы делаете! Это великое дело! Храни Вас Господь!
God Bless You Awesome People ! :)
Great people who do this! God bless
YES YOU ARE RIGHT!!!!
THANK YOU ALL FOR WHAT YOU DO!!! GODSPEED
I'm not really a cat person but all of those cats , God blessed them all
Bless this caring staff... that would be my dream to save animals in need for a living.
I want to be a veterinarian when I get older I already have like 7 cat, 4 dogs, 2 parrots, and 4 ginia pigs.
I wanna do this with my life, knowing that I rescued an animal would mean so much to me! It's so great everything you do, guys!
Wow. The humans should have got charged with 700 counts of cruelty. We need better animal cruelty laws up here in canada. I dont think I have ever heard of a hoarder to this extent . If there was I dont think the animals would survive the winter in conditions like these. Keep up the excellent work. ♥♥
In America, the animal cruelty laws are stricter than your strictest teacher. People face hefty fines and jail time for abusing 1 animal.
Mr Oof as they should
@@kirbypopstar5807 as they should indeed
My God. I'm crying so hard right now. I wish I could help them all......
+xXShadow The SighnlessXx Hi! Aw, thank you for taking care of strays!! Animals need more people like you!

Thank you so much! It's so touching what you did!

+The Humane Society of the United States No problem! :)
What an amazing thing, to be a part of. Watching them show so much affection. Brought tears to my eyes. I wish I could, just reach into my phone and pull one out. And make it mine🐈💜. You guys are awesome. Thank you, for all your hard work ☺️.
Those poor fur-babies!!! Why would someone do this if they are not capable of talking care of them! >:c
So loving in spite of all they've been through. Thankyou for rescuing them.. beautiful kitties just want to be loved and touched.
Lo peor, inconcebible, es creer que ese era un "santuario" pues, era el infierno en vida, para una especie tan hermosa como los gatos. Estos animales, merecen trato digno, respeto, cuidados y millones de caricias y besos😻🇲🇽🙏

Thank you for rescuing these animals. When I grow up I want to become an animal rescuer and help end animal cruelty. It breaks my heart to see such horrible conditions these animals have to live in. I live in Canada and really want to become an animal rescuer when I grow up. I'm currently 13 and I'm for sure I'll love animals for the rest of my life
It's so horrible how people do that to animals, I can't even think about something like that happening to my cat

I think I love animals more than people I love every single type of animal mostly dogs and cats and hamsters
this video made me cry I love cats and I just don't know how people can be so mean to those wonderful cats.
If I could I would adopt all of these cats
Lieutenant kitty Me to
Lieutenant kitty You sure you can take care of 700+ cats mate?
katrina lin wow rude I can do what I want and I would thanks, mate
Same
Every one can do something. Maybe you can not adopt 1000 cats but 1. Maybe you can b a foster home. Or "only" make people more human about this issue. Believe me you can do something, every one can. Let s do something now.
I am happy to know that people like you are giving all they have for the poor animals. Live and gratitude from the UAE 💖.
