My friend, Once again, you helped me here. my engine is back in, and turns out i took no pictures of which way the distributor plugs face when putting distr back in. did a search for 3.1 distributor - and there u are again - showing me the light!!! do you take donations?
@@amberericjones5694 it sat down about 2yrs without any prior problems. I put a new battery in it and it drove well for a couple of hours and then its started skipping really bad for a couple minutes before shutting off...i took it to a shop to have it diagnosed and had a full tune up with distributor and button , plugs and wires...the fuel pump is good and pumping out the correct pressure and I have two different mechanics who have had the car for almost 2mths apiece and both finally told me they cant figure it out
@@kennethfearson3126 also check slack in the timing chain, ive got a video of that to how to check for slack. Also may check for compression In each cylinder

Wasn't so much the shaft but the reluctor inside was rusted very bad
@@amberericjones5694 thank you
It just turns over without cranking

@@kennethfearson3126 have you pulled the plugs to be sure all is getting spark, if the igntion coil isnt supplying power could have a faulty coil

I'm going to try it once this bad weather passes
Where is the number one plug placement on the distributor.
Should be almost 7 o'clock position on distributor it's closer to 6 o'clock but off just a bit. If it makes sense
Hea brother I've recently changed my distributor because I've lost fire and I've changed everything and still no fire
I've even changed the computer now the fuel pump won't come on I'm ready to put a match to it
It's no wonder! Yer problem is yer doing it all wrong! I don't see no sweating beer can and a bag of peanuts lying around there anywhere!
