    "It's pretty good deal." It's true. I had had a hybrid for 10 years. I would dream of a new car, especially a new EV that won't break the bank. Suddenly last March, Vinfast offered a promotion of leasing a 2023 VF8 for $249/month. I immediately called Vinfast, and after the trade in of my old car together with a $200 deposit, I now pay $281/month to lease a VF8 Plus with a 3 year lease to own agreement. After that if I don't like it, I can switch to another model like VF7. On average I pay $9.37/day to lease a brand new and all electric midsize SUV, which is even cheaper than an Uber or Lyft ride, to be honest!! However keep in mind that the insurance will be higher because it's a brand new car. Yes, I do enjoy driving VF8 Plus. The EV is smooth and comfortable. It's quite spacious even for my dad, who is 6'2. I have been told Vinfast is now offering the similar promotion of $249/month to lease a VF8 this summer.

    Before I got my 2023 VF8 Plus, I had watched RUclipsr Kim Java test drive a 2023 VF8 Plus City Edition with her family-her husband and 2 kids in the EV for one week. It was Kim Java, who proved the 2023 VF8 Plus City Edition could travel 263.8 miles on a full charge (the 2023 VF8 Plus City Edition battery had only 1% left).

    I'm sure it was a good idea to get that great deal on a lease but having any new vehicle without a dealer in close proximity is absolutely crazy.

    Francis is experiencing the same types of problems that we early Leaf buyers had. Basic transport with lots of quirks.

    • @CheddarKungPao
      @CheddarKungPao 16 дней назад +1

      I owned a 2014 Leaf from 2014-2022 and never had the kind of software bugs and stuff that the Vinfast has exhibited. I never had to deliberately disconnect the 12 volt battery or get a software update to stop it from warning me it was going to overheat during charging, etc.
      I don't think the Leaf deserves to be categorized with the Vinfast. It has it's quirks but they are deliberate design decisions, not unreliable software, etc.

      @@CheddarKungPao My 2012 Leaf has the worst navigation system I have ever experienced. The charging timer and climate timers are damn near impossible to set. The Guess o meter is unreliable. And the battery design is a disaster. In 2012 the Leaf was the only "affordable" option. But, it has many issues.

    • @CheddarKungPao
      @CheddarKungPao 16 дней назад +1

      @@usaverageguy the navigation system was normal for the time. The charging and climate timers are also just showing their age, they were ok at the time. The Guess-o-meter works like all GOMs do even today. It just has a much smaller battery pack than most EVs so the accuracy matters more, potentially. The lack of active cooling is a problem in hot climates but in a lot of the workd wasn't so much of an issue, and that choice is part of why the Leaf was affordable.
      These are all design decisions you are taking issue with. None of them are software bugs like the Vinfast.

      @@CheddarKungPao The navigation system was not normal for the time. I had a $99 Garmen that was much better. Google map and Apple map were both out at the time. But the Leaf software was garbage. And poorly written software is the issue with both cars.

    Until now, no vinfast EVs VF5-6-7-8-9-e34-Bus in Vietnam are fired by main battery. Vinfast have been sold 80,000 evs in Vietnam from 2022. A lot of VF5-e34-8 is used by taxi diver ( uber grab gsm and tranditional taxi). Some run over 500km per day and odo over 150,000km.

    Francie - have you tried the Target at I-240 and 72? 6 350kV EVgo stalls. Looks like it's been going for at least a couple months now. Maybe that's the one you were mentioning is supposed to be opening up, but it's been up at least a couple months.

    This question is a bit subjective but I’m curious if the bumper to charge port distance looks like it will support magic dock and some day NACs adapters. Does it reach better than say the F-150? The forward swinging charge door always seems like a challenge.

    I've said it before but Vinfast gives me really strong Daewoo vibes. Something about these sprawling ultra-diversified companies (Vingroup) that does everything, but none of it especially well...
    Glad to hear the car has been more quirky rather than a complete disaster though... kinda?
