How To Code For Digital Speedometer On An E90 BMW Using NCS Expert

- In this video I show you how to activate your Digital Speedometer on your gauge cluster on an E90 or E92 BMW.
We are using the INPA software suite to do this. Specifically NCS Expert.

When I load profile there's no Revtor...only Code Control Unit, allow ZCS Reading and Expertmode...Am I missing anything?

Does this stuff work on the 2007 E92? I found out that the Carista app doesn’t work for coding in features like the digital speedometer and rolling up the windows with holding the FOB’s lock button on 2007 E92’s.
I don't have that computer or the cable. I would like some content on what all the sensors do and what the computers do
is it possible to get get KMH instead of MPH?
FYI:
I was getting an Error: COAPI-2021 msg at the "CoapiReadSgGetFswPsw" part.
If this happens to you, go into device manager, right click on COM1, Advanced and changed the Latency to 1 (it's probably 16 by default) and that fixed my issue :)

This coding tutorial is for the wrong parameter. This ONLY turns on the long term average speed (which is why is has the Speedo icon in the left)
It is not enabling on the the current speed which shows a letter V (velocity on the left when selected)!!!!!!!!!!!
Please make a video on how to set up your laptop to connect to obd2, cause i keep on having errors or can’t connect to obd2.

I have a question for you
I bought an old speedometer and installed it, but the driving information and gear position cannot be displayed. I have a bimmercode, how can I use it to program it?
My cat is e90 325i
There is a much much easier way to do this.. You can get a Carly OBD2 reader that connects to your phone via Wi-Fi, and you do all the coding from a Carly Pro app on your phone. All you have to do is go through the list of things you want in the app, and turn them on and off. Definitely a little pricey, but much simpler than this
Yeah Carly can do some coding but not all so I don't use it.
Yeah I could see it not being able to do some more advanced things, but for simpler things it definitely has it's advantaged
I was looking at Carly, but £44 for the app and then £55-£66 For the dongle on eBay was a lot of cash when you look into using NCS, a bit more involved but with the help of clear videos like this I'm now confident enough to give it a go

I tried this, but the MPH was not accurate as all. the speed jumps all over the place and says I'm moving when I'm stopped. We have two 2011 E90's and the result was the same on both. Any ideas?
Hmm perhaps because you have a later model the kombi module is slightly different. Is the text bigger than what mine appears to be?

How do you learn to do this stuff? I have the software but I don't know how to use it at all yet. How do i access a manual or anything?
I did this to my 09 328i and now I feel like It messes up the sport mode. It will kick out of the selected gear and go back to drive mode after just a few seconds. Also I can’t remember if it’s supposed to show D/S in the cluster like my e60 did.
It should only do that if you manually shift your streering wheel paddles while in D mode. Otherwise if you keep it in DS it should hold your gear.

Marcus Fletcher Sounds like you just ran your battery down while Keeping the ignition on. Try boosting it.

That's just how the software is setup, I guess the electrical underpinnings are the same.

Guillermo Zavala I'm at 177K now, running great. Nothing has come up but if it does I'll be sure to post a video on it.
I got rid of my E90 at 215k km; most critical stuff was working fine still, but I had some nasty expensive failures around the 160k (100k miles) mark like the starter, radio amp and ignition coils that the crook dealership where I used to go refused to change under warranty...
@@pixlplague Ignition coils are routine maintenance.

As far as I've been able to tell it's similar but sorry I can't say for sure. I'll probably do this on my X5 and will report back if its the same procedure. I have heads up display on that car so it's kind of pointless but it wouldn't hurt anything.

I dunno if you already tried it, but yes. You can do it in the config menu on the head unit

Wow and I thought coding was all this complicated shit. You just take the file from the car change what you want and put it back. And with NCS dummy it's even easier and translates ish things for ya.
