Thank you! I created videos to help my students during the pandemic. I wasn’t trying to get too fancy. Just what I would have said in class to get them started. There is much more to learn about acid/base.
Awesome! So glad I could help. It probably helped because your professor gave you a great foundation. And there is a lot more to acid-base than what I explain in the video. Hopefully it’ll be a good start for you. So glad you liked it 😁
ETCO2 is End Tidal, or exhaled. PaCO2 is the partial pressure in arterial blood of CO2. Not exactly the same, but ETCO2 should be a good representation of it. Especially because we usually can’t obtain ABGs on our ambulances. If there isn’t good exchange between alveolar air and the blood in the capillaries around the alveoli, the numbers will be quite different
This is a very simple way to help determine respiratory vs metabolic and doesn’t address compensation. Sorry! It is a start for my EMT students. I’d recommend searching for the tic-tac-toe method.
This was the best video. Quick and to the point. From medic to medic

Thank you! much better than the textbook if it wasnt for these vids i dont think i could make it through school
You’d make it! You can do it. I’m glad you find the videos helpful
this really makes acid base balance easy once you understand it and know your parameters
Thank you! I’m trying to make things a little more understandable for my classes, and anyone else who takes the time to watch. Thanks for watching!
awesome learned how to do acid-base inbalance in 3:41 minutes.
OMG you know how many videos I watched non made senes to me. thank you
You’re welcome! I try to be to the point
thank you sir. great refresher for finals tomorrow
You’re welcome! Glad you found it useful 😊
Great Video thank you. Just one question, is PaCo2 and ETCO2 the same thing?

how do we know they compensated and uncompensated or partial with this method

Thank you sir
