Structure and Immune Function of the Lymphatic System

- With some basics out of the way, we are ready to get a sense of the overall structure of the immune system. That will mean looking at the lymphatic system. We already looked at this system in the context of its involvement in the circulatory system, in our study of human anatomy and physiology. But we did not examine its immune function, and this will be critical to our understanding of immunology, so let's get a closer look now. Get ready to learn about lymph nodes, the spleen, the thymus, mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue, and more!

I'm a Junior at the University studying microbiology and we just started learning about immunology. This series couldn't have come at a better time. Thank you!
I just can’t get enough of the immune system. The Crash Course and Kurzgesagt videos are great, but I still need more, so I’m glad this exists!
Your work is appreciable.
We live in a society where science is taught in a boring and awful way.

We live in a society where science is thaught in interesting and exciting ways. Like this video. The society you live in is not the boring factor in your equation. Guess what is X?
Just in time as my biology teacher is going to cover the lymphatic system! Thanks again, Professor Dave!

Thank god you have so many in depth videos on the immune system. It is an overwhelming amount of information to wrap my brain around. I'll probably have to watch these a buncha times to actually "get" it though.
This couldn't have come at a better time. I have an anatomy exam next week.
Your organic chem videos really helped me a lot too. Thanks for all you do, Prof. Dave.

❤Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to create this for us this genuinely helped me through my studies
Thank you for sharing your knowledge in the most understandable way
Thank you Prof Dave ❤ I love this topic, please make a video on MALT and specifically linphoid tissue associated with chronic sinus problems, women genital problems, gut problems GALT, and respiratory problems (BALT). It would be so interesting ❤
The series of videos made for immunology is very helpful! Watching these videos actually helped me a lot for assignments in college when I had no idea where to start. I really appreciate your work. Thanks for sharing the knowledge!
Thanks again professor Dave!

Awesome explanation! It’s so hard to make biology understandable with all the terms but this was a well done
Professor Dave is my structure. My structure of support against the vile forces of physics.
Hello I am currently studying masters found this productive information on innate but I am still waiting for the adaptive immunology part in detail. Thanks for the videos
Best video to learn about this...Thank You so much
Amazing stuff! The part about how red blood cells get filtered just blew my mind.
good stuff human this is more important than i feel you know

You are great Professor, dave sir. I know many things from your education videos. Love you❤️❤️. Share with us more knowledge.
you made very interesting video
good in depth description of a very complex system, I am trying to work out a possible theoretical basis for long-covid, am looking at mast cells at the moment, thanks for another great video!
Dear Dave! Could you put the advertisements in the end or begginning of the video? It is somewhat annoying, when I am in the flow of understanding, and an ad comes in. Anyway, thanks for your work, your contents truly help a lot :D
Thank you so much
Amazing 👏 can't wait for the next topic hope it's soon
Thank you Prof Dave! Could you please speak more about the mucosal associated lymphoid tissue MALT and the others NALT LALT BALT GALT URALT?
you made immunology easy to learn ! Thank you Sir .. but can I know which book you used as ur reference for making the playlist??
Great work man! Thank you.
Need a video on combinatorial chemistry
CANT WAIT THE OTHER VIDEOS OF THE SERIIIES
How long till he posts it 😂?
Please make a video on assymetric synthesis

In the NALT and BALT when you said after they capture antigen and it becomes available for digestion? Does that mean that they reuptake and put it back in mucous so it can be digested by the digestive system? Or cellular digestion by APCs?
I’ve seen one(?) picture with an APC-cell and many with dendritic cell that present an antigen to a T-helper cell. Why did you not use the term APC-cells (mostly dendritic cells, b-lymphocytes and macrophages) for the antigen presentation?
I saw Cords of Billroth at Ozzfest. They sucked.

Can someone explain to me when gender and sex started meaning different things and how many genders their are. This is confusing.
@@spatrk6634 yeah i mean I think the 800 billion gender stuff is ridiculous but I know almost no biology.
@@spatrk6634 im in the same boat. I dont care what you call yourself, just dont force me to live in your fantasy.
Gender and sex "became" different when we realized they were different.
@@ProfessorDaveExplains how did we realize they were different. Thats my question
Well, the existence of trans people demonstrates it conclusively. But we have been figuring out the neurological basis of gender for a few decades now. Though still genetic, it is not the same as sex, which is determined strictly by the sex chromosome.
