I just got my 2024X 5 and I can’t get the steering wheel to light up green. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’ve taken it out on the highway a few times to try to get it to drive and I can’t get that green, steering wheel icon to glow green.
This updated system does not require you to touch the steering wheel, up to 85 mph, on certain freeways. The system also controls speed, following distance and breaking. Fully autonomous. 🎉
Hey question for you. Does the car pick which freeways are eligible for the assisted driving plus? Cuz mine only shows distant control and drivers assist. Not the plus…. I don’t know how to activate plus. Any tips?
Thanks for the video. I find the option to be a bit annoying in that it requires you to have your hands on the wheel. If there was a way to disable requirement then I'd definitely use it more often. The first time I tried it, those green lights on the steering wheel flashed yellow then went to red and initiated an emergency stop...in the middle of the road. Turned the emergency stop feature off but apparently there is no way to disable the hands on requirement. If I'm going to have my hands on the wheel then I'm just going to drive myself.
Can the air suspension be lowered for easy entry and loading/unloading just like the X7? Also would like to know how much of an improvement is the ride quality with the air suspension.
@@TheVcm060 Problem with the GLE besides their terrible reliability is their plug in hybrid only comes with a 4 cylinder...I looked at both and picked the 50e
Really depends on your daily driving and what matters to you. You could get more features on the 40i for the same price, but 50e give more HP and Air Suspension standard. The electric is a big plus if you commute or daily driving is under 40 miles. If you don’t need those things - you could spec a good looking 40i for the same price as the entry level 50e.
@@TechandWheels Totally agree! in my use case, I ordered 40i mainly because I work from home and have a tesla model 3 to take care of majority of local rides, X5 to replace my lexus es350 for long trip, more loads and also as 2nd car. 50e is for sure a better daily commuting cars if need to ride to work every day for much better MPG, but for long trip, with 600 lbs more weight, the mileage will not be better than regular 40i if more than a certain distance, and also consider few thousands more in price tag. and congratulations on new car!
Hey tech & wheels. Thanks for reviewing a drive assistant by 3d view. But how can I found it on the screen?
It is on by default if you have the Driving Professional and Parking Assist Packages
You the real MVP for this vid
Thanks for the video. I wonder how it will react if someone’s car cuts into the drive line at two or three car distance in front.
Not gracefully I am sure
I hope there is a way to dim the screens at night. Those are far to bright for my taste. Thanks for the vid.
Easy to adjust lighting for night.

It's hands free on the highway

Yes can be lowered (dedicated button) - I find it to be significantly more comfortable vs my X3 M40i
Great question and thanks for the info!
Have you tried a Q7 with air suspension or a GLE? If so, I'm truly curious which one you find the most comfortable ride.
@@TheVcm060 I have not tried either.

Do you recommend getting the x5 50e over the x5 40i? Worth the difference in price?

What’s that beep every now and then? Video is not great quality so cant zoom in.
Beeps if the driver is distracted. Eye tracking checks to make sure you are looking forward
@@TechandWheels after how many seconds does it beep if you look away?
Have not timed it - feels like every 10-15 seconds if you are distracted
