Disagree about making air suspension the default. Its more weight and more to go wrong a few years down the line. Normal springs provide a good enough ride for most people.
Although expensive they are easy to fix when they do go wrong it’s a relatively simple system and makes a lot of difference to how the car drives over rough terrain both offroad and in normal U.K. roads whilst maintaining the most control over body roll and turn in. I prefer it on suv for sure, and it makes the allroad models of Audi drive way better than the spring models for example. Think it’s a love hate thing, you’d never have it on a track car obviously but when are you going to track your x5?😅

Have the 50e, amazing car, but cockpit dials are all on the slant at an angle on the new dashboard. Once you see it you can’t unsee it and it becomes a frustration for what otherwise is a great car.

The gas strut in the back has some nostalgic noises for anyone who has had older BMW's. They always sound like your opening some secret alien treasure chest when you pop the boot with those struts lol.
THat light condensation is completely normal thing in all modern LED main lights due to the fact that LED does not heat up as normal lightbulbs or xenon lights used to. So conedensate appears due to difference temperature difference from outside and inside the headlight. Manufacturers try to "battle" this by applying silica strips or similar stuff which "pulls" humidity onto themselves inside the headlights. So this condensation is a result of something like "Low quality" manufacturing but a physics fact
That water in the headlights... might that be on "purpose" today? Have seen way to many videos here where it was like that with premium brands to think it is just bad production quality all over all brands. Do they maybe not really seal the glas itself but just the LEDs? And probably the water will get out as soon as the car starts going/the LEDs produce some warmth?
Just to correct you on the rear seat releases - you have handles at the back of the boot as well as those on top of the seats themselves so you don’t need to ‘go round’ to release them to flatten the - Also spec the electric load cover - best thing ever!
There used to be handles in the boot area to lower the rear seats, for some reason they chose to remove them. I was disappointed to discover this as was on my previous X5.
I'll buy this over Mercedes Benz easily Mercedes Benz is UNNECESSARY WAY EXPENSIVE YES WAY TOO EXPENSIVE the facelift version of Mercedes Benz brought a VERY VERY HEFTY PRICE TAG across all their models so no can do not getting a Benz. BMWs are by the way nicer looking cars then Mercedes I dont think any Benz is even worth it's outrageously ridiculous price tag.
These days, £70K for an extremely powerful 300bhp SUV is very good value for money and people should carry on buying them.. These cars have mind-blowing new technologies than any cars I could think of and looked completely different from the previous version.
I always wonder, instead of using terms like the baggage area is 650 L which is not helpful for many consumer, why dont demonstrate using a 28 L and 24 L suitcase ? Just a thought
The options list is not clear, even to the sales personnel. The rear seats only recline if you have opted in for the third row of seats. This then is not available on the hybrid model. I wanted storage net in the boot recesses to either side. This was not offered, just ordered part required at cost of £125. Frustrating that BMW do not get better packages for this car.

"The U.S. has the most amount of open roads" - there's a new town every 30 miles or so in the USA
I have a diesel X3 in the US so they're out there!
Why is the rearseat in the x5 so small. Ill never understand.
Disagree about making air suspension the default. Its more weight and more to go wrong a few years down the line. Normal springs provide a good enough ride for most people.
Agree 100%✓
Most luxury SUVs these days have air suspension as default.
@@manofsesame3024even also to Cadillac Escalade and Hummer H3 Patriot.
@@AI-Records24they also have 3 year warranty like the 2011 and 2013 Pagani Huayra.
18:35 what nonsense? the speed-limit signboard should be in the direction of traveling (direction of the movement of the car), which is left side of the road for on-going drivers.. why is it there on the right-hand-side, for the incoming drivers, who can't even see it?
Have the 50e, amazing car, but cockpit dials are all on the slant at an angle on the new dashboard. Once you see it you can’t unsee it and it becomes a frustration for what otherwise is a great car.
I own a 2018 BMW 530i Touring in Blue Metallic with lots of options and white leather interior with 95000 km on the clock. Should I keep my car or sell to spring for this??
I always loved the look and overall feeling of the X5. Definitely one of my favorites SUV‘s
BMW should fix the fog issues with lights! What a emberasing for that brand ... I had same problem with Mini..
Well done Matt, for extolling the virtues of the 3.0 diesel. Im sure someone will be along in a minute banging on about EV's.😁
Can you turn the headlights off when the car is on? A friend gets “function unavailable” in theirs.
the want-factor of an x5 just never dissapoints
Matt... you have done your job.. I moved from an X1 M35i to an X5 30d fully loaded.
This is literally the best SUV in the market
Ticks every box

Hasn't got the flair as an X5, when u buy a Volvo, you've given up on life
I've noticed several times that headlights on this BMW become amber color and start to blink. As a BMW owner myself I have never seen it. Is this a new BMW feature that is available on new BMW s only?
BMW X5 is one of my favorite SUVs ...so glad they've made such great car.
The gas strut in the back has some nostalgic noises for anyone who has had older BMW's. They always sound like your opening some secret alien treasure chest when you pop the boot with those struts lol.
6:04 Mat's been to Liverpool... 😀
Apparently the sound of the BMW X5 2024 is like 2013 Pagani Huayra.
Why are the sunblind hooks visible when the window opens?
Will pick upmy X5 M60i tomorrow!! Love the car
Whats up with new cars and foggy headlights???
Owesome verdikt👍 I own the 45e hybrid. The non facelift version. What a machine❤️👌
Fr and the reliability is down to
Great car. Only complaint with the LCI is the removal of buttons.
Perfect car, great review as always.
Doesn’t It Come With The B58 Also? You Only Mentioned Turbo Diesel & Hybrid
You should be a DJ. YOUD own the turntable 😂😂😂 💿
These days, £70K for an extremely powerful 300bhp SUV is very good value for money and people should carry on buying them..
These cars have mind-blowing new technologies than any cars I could think of and looked completely different from the previous version.
0:16 and fragile
😂
I always wonder, instead of using terms like the baggage area is 650 L which is not helpful for many consumer, why dont demonstrate using a 28 L and 24 L suitcase ? Just a thought
They do this sometimes…
The options list is not clear, even to the sales personnel. The rear seats only recline if you have opted in for the third row of seats. This then is not available on the hybrid model. I wanted storage net in the boot recesses to either side. This was not offered, just ordered part required at cost of £125. Frustrating that BMW do not get better packages for this car.
Will you bring the new Cayenne for revieuw?
Why is there a video view of the road ahead in the instrument cluster??
It's AR mode.
6:59 isn't that to be compared with the X7?
What is the thing with the condensation in the headlights? Is that normal??!?!
Mat, No mentioning of the actual physical unit for torque in newton-meters??
Would love to see you do a test on the Alpina XD3/4,sadly not available in the UK with the 396ps engine
So nice to see a car review video again and not a drag race. Keep up the amazing content.
I feel agree with you on your Vedic but my concern is the car would have space if I had more seats on it
could you please do a review on the x5m competition G05 pre facelift
Because it's new, I wonder if they have upgraded the security? I belive the key can't be read as easily ?
Drove them all over last 2 weeks, shopping hard. This is the best. And it isn't even close.
Can’t believe you didn't mention the naff illuminated x5 stripes above the glovebox - blocks the passenger window and mirror when driving at night too
You can set to reduce light during night driving in idrive. It barely reflects anything or you can turn it off altogether if you hate it.
What is this color called?
Most of the negatives are not X5 LCI but new idrive specific
