Still waiting for Despicable Me 1,2,3 🔥🔥🙏🏼 looking forward to watching hotel transylvania 2 as well
What other movies besides Charolette’s Web are you planning on reacting to? Just asking.
Still waiting for Barnyard
Questions when are you going to watch the book of life
But watch your hotel transylvania 2 first then answer my questions
React to Batman vs Dracula
Love the world building in this, better than just “our world but with [insert thing]”, as this genuinely feels like a world for robots by robots.
I love how thought-out and fully realized this robot world is. I also love Ratchet and Madame Gasket and the "Underground" song scene. This was well worth the wait. Truly one of Blue Sky's best.
Theres a remix of Underground by M.M. Soundtracks on YT and it's so good
Underground is by Tom Waits (he does a song called Singapore, that’s my favorite one of his) ❤
I watched this movie ever since I was a child and I still think this movie is heavily underappreciated to this day with it's incredible cast and world concept
This is probably the most forgotten film in Blue Sky’s entire filmography. I wish they made a sequel to this instead of four Ice Age sequels (or at least keep The Meltdown and Dawn of the Dinosaurs).
The Bug's Life of Blue Sky Studios
I kind of like that message. You can shine no matter what your made of. As someone who gets a lot of doubts from people because of my “mental disabilities,” I adore movies that show that anyone can be great.
Fun Fact: At 22:37, that really was James Earl Jones' voice. They were so thankful for James, they included his name in the opening credits, even though that Darth Vader reference was his only line.
Love seeing a film where the parents are loving and supportive in a very healthy way. Too many nowadays make that the central conflict for a coming of age story
Dear lord XD. The "hit me baby one more time" always gets me. 🤣🤣🤣 This movie is special for me, it was the first DVD movie my dad bought for me. So many good memories. Thanks for reacting to this ❤❤❤
as a kid i first watched this movie with my neighbors and we were all cracking up at that scene- and continued to see it as the funniest thing ever for months
it was def a special bonding experience
This movie is very underrated. There's a lot of great jokes.
One thing I REALLY appreciate about the movie, as an artist, is how many individual designs there were!! That's really hard. They could have easily made one robot and copy and pasted it for background characters, but no. Every character, no matter how mibor, is uniquely designed. Amazing.
This movie as such an amazing cast :
Ewan McGregor as Rodney
Robin Williams as Fender
Mel Brooks as Bigweld
Halle Berry as Cappy
Jim Broadbent as Madame Gasketr
Greg Kinnear as Ratchet
Stanely Tucci as Herb Copperbottom
Dianne West as Mrs Copperbottom
Paul Giamatti as Tim the Gate Guard
There is even Jay Leno that has a breif role as the Fire Hydrant.
I looked it up and Rodney’s Moms name is Lydia CopperBottom
The part where Fender dances to Britney Spears’ song “Baby One More Time” is the only part in this movie that I really remember cause it’s literally been decades since I last saw it
Honestly, Robots, along with Ice Age, and Rio are some of my favorite Fox & Blue Sky animated movies. I also loved the world building of this film, and I thought it interesting how the villains were a mother and son duo just like in DreamWorks Shrek 2 (funny, considering that one came out just ten months before Robots). I also loved the message about never giving up on certain dreams, especially if they might change circumstances for the better. Anyway, thanks for reacting to this film!
The reason the dog looked scared when Rodney said "who wants to get fixed?" is because it's a dog, he's hiding his nether region. 🤣
Hahaha I get it all this time I thought the dog had to really pee 😂
I never thought this movie would be way funnier than I remembered. Especially the death of that lamp post guy. 🤣 Holy gosh.
Watching this movie again and it really isn't an overly epic movie, but gosh was it entertaining. Tons of fun to watch. Hearing Robin Williams is always a delight. I miss the man so much. I also loved that robot that constantly changed voices. He was just so funny too.
And above all, great message. Many companies care more about how much money they can make instead of the people's needs, just like what happened in The Lorax. I know you loved that movie, but trust me, it could've been far, FAR better if it wasn't for so much executive meddling.
Along with Robin Williams and Mel Brooks being involved with this movie, it should also be noted that one of the films biggest collaborators was the Blue Man Group. They helped a great deal with the sounds and musical feel of the film while working alongside composer John Powell (who's done a lot of musical scores with animated films, especially Dreamworks with Antz, Road to El Dorado, the Kung Fu Panda films, and the How to Train Your Dragon films).
The composer who created the score in this film is John Powell. He did the soundtrack for Kung Fu Panda and the How to Train Your Dragon series. Absolutely one of my favourite composers, he makes masterpieces
This is one of my favorites of his. Love the ball traveling machine section especially.
He Also Done Shrek With Harry Gregson-Williams
According to Robin Williams, his voice-over work in Ferngully: The last rainforest (as batty) was just as important to him as Genie in Aladdin.
Both movies were in production at the same time🌳🌲🏵
Sometimes i feel like this show didn’t get the credit it deserved for being anti-capitalist and anti-ableism like damn. Might just be one of my favorites now, thanks for watching and reminding me of it!
As a kid, the anti-capitalism and anti ableism messaging in this film went completely over my head (although it does explain personal beliefs I've formed over the years), but as an adult, I'm absolutely living for it.
This is one of my favorite Non Disney childhood classic films.
Robin Williams in this always killed it. For the longest time as a child- I didn’t know he played Fender because I didn’t know actors would voice animated characters. I thought they only did live movies so I assumed whoever drew Fender voiced Fender- again I was 5 so don’t roast me LOL. My favorite quote is the ending of Fender saying “CAAAHKAAWWW!” “Do you hear that my dear? That is the cry of the deep-doo-doo bird!” And the “it’s a mixture of jazz and funk- I CALL IT JUNK!” Which me and my family use till this day to make music references 😂 that is one of the greatest musical outro’s ever.
Now that I know they had some pretty big names as the cast, everyone killed it- Jennifer Coolidge, James Earl Jones, Amanda Bynes, Ewan McGregor, Halle Berry, Stanley Tucci, even Terry Bradshaw made a voice cameo in this!
Especially now that Britney is free from her conservatorship, the Fender “Hit Me Baby One More Time!” Scene has a whole new level of respect and nostalgia 🥰
So sad BlueSky got shut down. They made some amazing things in their time.
I know! All of their movies were amazing! Especially Ferdinand!!! I love that movie
An underrated film!! A big part of my childhood!😆 Wish more people reacted to it!
Im gonna be honest
Its been YEARS since I watched this movie(maybe when I was a kid before being a teenager) and this is unlocking SO MANY MEMORIES I DIDNT EVEN KNOW I HAD!!! Oh my!!!
Same here, I never even realised they said 'big anime eyes' scene.
30:12-30:27 and 46:15-46:26
When this movie first came out, every kid I knew (including me) constantly quoted/re-enacted these scenes 😂
The sound that Rodney made back at the one that Tim open the gate at the second I couldn’t stop laughing 😂🤣😂🤣
I love Blue Sky's Robots (2005). It's one of my favorite underrated animated movies.
It's a great movie, and it's a very funny movie.
And Robots has been made by Blue Sky Studios the creators of Ice Age.
I like how Rodney's dad's ears are sink drain plugs. So many little details in this movie!
Nick you guessed it right fender the red robot sings a parody of singing in the rain where he breaks singing and dancing after dropping off a date instead of rain he says oil to fit the movies theme and emulates gene kellys iconic swing on the lampost singing in the rain was considered to be one my favorite musical movies of all time, I recommend an American in Paris 1951.
One of my favourite childhood movie’s and probably still in my top 15 favourite movies ever
This movie was extremely underestimated. This movie was a visual treat especially the scene when he finally gets inside of the city and meets Robin Williams robot.
RIP robin williams who did an Amazing job voicing fender(1951-2014)😢 and i love robots🤖❤😊❤ i rewatch it soo many times when i was a kid and it's an underrated/a fantastic and a great animated movie🎬🎥👌 and nickflix i have a couple of animated movies that you realy need to check out the lego movie wreck it Ralph Ralph breaks the internet onward space jam space jam: a new legacy home on the range rio rio 2 happy feet 2 and the pinguïns of madagascar please🎬🎥❤😊👍 and nick have a good day and enjoy the rest of the week💪☀️😎🤙
As a kid i loved this movie and now even more it's just fun to watch it over and over again
In this movie i love how they made robots in the movie look so life like, and all of the robots design are very amazing and wonderful. I really love watching you're videos Nick, your a great youtuber.
This movie man, no many memories watching this as a kid in theaters and it holds a special place in my heart for it's message, humor, and the characters. Thank you Nick for reacting to this under rated movie. You made my childhood heart happy.
RIP Robin Williams
The message in this movie is also just amazing!
Of course Nick is too innocent to catch "making the baby".
The soundtrack for this movie is amazing. A best of 00's for pop. Oh, and the "Evil song" is "Underground" by Tom Waits, great blues/folk singer
I remember this came out right around the time that the industry I had been dreaming about for years was going through some pretty heavy changes, and not good ones. So the themes and messages of this movie laid pretty heavy with me back then. ❤️ The industry adjusted and so did I eventually, but this was just the movie younger me needed.
One of those films that I can only call good. The only thing that is not clear to me, as in the case of Cars, how this civilization was born. I really liked the creative of the cartoon and some of the pop culture references that are in place. It seems to me that little can be said about the visual, considering that BlueSky is known for its work on light and shadows.
This is a massively underrated movie! Was one of my favorites as a kid. Thank you for doing a reaction to it!
I enjoyed this reaction so much , this used to be one of my favorite underrated childhood movies
ruclips.net/video/QcAkmuEPELA/видео.html
I love this movie! Definitely one of my favorite animation movies when I was a kid it will always have a special place in my heart
yesss i grew up watching this movie so its super nostalgic for me. It made me want to be an inventor when i was a kid lol, and also just the messages in the movie are so important. I love all your reactions!
A brilliant and hilarious movie, thanks for reacting to it 😊 (didn't realize it was underrated tbh, it was always a family favourite in my house) 😅
Edit* omg how did i not realize Robin Williams (RIP) voiced fender 😲 only seen it 100+ times
My best friend and I saw this in theaters a couple times. One of our favorites. I still love this movie.
This movie is so underrated. Another movie with Robin Williams you might like is Flubber (1997).
Oh yes, I like it in particular Weebo
0:01
Rest in peace, Robin Williams. 😔
Yay! I love the score of this movie lol This movie made my little scientists heart as a kid feel so motivated and ready for the big world hahah so glad you got to see it 😊 ❤
This brings back so many childhood memories😍
I love this movie and its so great to see you react to it
Me too.
Most underrated blue sky movie ever
Man how i miss this hidden gem of a movie 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Man, I had forgotten how fun this score was. 😄 Bought the CD back in the day too! And now Im’ma just have to track it down on Spotify!
Truly an under appreciated movie. It would have worked well as an animated series. “Bigweld’s Rusty Tales” or something like it.
The interesting thing about this film that I didn't pick up on for the longest time is that the new-age robots tossing out all the old ideals and pushing their own agenda on people is basically one big metaphor for Hollywood thinking people only want CGI films and don't care about hand-drawn animation anymore. For Blue Sky of all companies to do that was pretty ballsy.
A lot of people missed the social commentary in this movie. The lady screaming "I'm losing my mind!" really summed it up, and this was made almost 20 years ago.
I’m sorry, but I couldn’t help but stop laughing so hard when you were shocked that the lamp post robot died from Aunt Fanny. Lol 🤣
I find that this movie deserve more recognition, its very enjoyable and interesting concept with great creativity :3
Hi, Nick, I am sorry for the quantity of questions and I am sorry for this comment so big, but please answer me this one.
Since you're enjoying Blue Sky movies like Ice Age and Robots, you know the mammoth family in the cave paintings scene from the first Ice Age movie were Manny's wife and child, right? Not his parents like many people think.
That's why Manny denies his feelings for Ellie at first in The Meltdown (Ice Age 2), because he feels like he is replacing his deceased wife and child, as spouses and children are not something you can easily move on from, especially if you lost them through death, but like Sid said, you gotta let go of the past, so you can have a future. In fact, Dracula goes through a similar arc in Hotel Transylvania 3 (if you're reading this, sorry for the spoiler, Nick). That's also why he is so overprotective towards Peaches at the beginning of the fourth movie, because he didn't want her to meet the same fate as his previous child, kinda similar to how Marlin didn't want Nemo to have the same fate as his mother Coral and his 399 unborn siblings.
Again, I am sorry if I am being annoying at this, I know I already asked you before, but you didn't answer me (I mean, you didn't answer me about the Manny's family question, because he answered me about the Toy Story movies and Blue Sky Reactions questions, and thank you for that), and I wanted to make sure you noticed that to see how Ice Age is even deeper than it looks like and how Blue Sky movies in general can equal Pixar both on comedic moments, wonderful animation, but especially, on emotional cores. I mean, if those were Manny's parents, it would still be emotional, but the fact that those were his wife and child is a lot more impactful, because a lot of animated movies depict either one or both of main character's parents dying, to the point it kinda became cliched, and I don't remember one animated movie other than Ice Age that was brave enough to show a child (Manny's first son) dying (unless you count Nemo's 399 unborn siblings), because the movie was not afraid to touch such mature and sensible themes, making Ice Age stand out from the rest. I really hate that most people only remember Ice Age for either its comedic moments like Scrat's antics to get his acorn or the interactions between Manny and Sid or how the franchise went downhill with Continental Drift (Ice Age 4), that is massively split up between people who like it or hate it, and Collision Course (Ice Age 5), that's regarded as one of the worst animated movies of all time, but people hardly if ever talk about the emotional side of the franchise, rather it be Manny losing his famil and struggling to open up to Sid and Diego in the first film, embrace his feelings for Ellie and let Peaches grow up, Sid getting abandoned by his own family where Gladys (his grandmother) was the only one that cared about him before he met Manny and Diego, Diego's conflicted loyalty between his pack and Manny and Sid in the first movie, and even Ellie's flashback scene in the second movie and how she starts to learn more about who she truly is when she realizes she is a mammoth and not a possum. If those were Manny's parents, while it would still be emotional, it would kinda make the Ice Age franchise more generic. It annoys me so much that people only see Ice Age as silly yet profitable animated movies, not only because Ice Age is a lot more than that, but because it also affects the other Blue Sky movies as well, because Ice Age is their most known project, and if people don't look at Ice Age like they do at Toy Story, they will not look at movies like Robots like they do at movies like A Bug's Life, and they will assume Robots is just a generic silly comedy, even though, like Ice Age, it has a lot more than that, like the wonderful message about Rodney following his dreams and how greed can even ruin people's life, and some of those in the big power like Ratchet and Gasket do not even care, they just want to profit for themselves.
One of my favourite animated films, the artwork is very special. Your reaction to it is adorable.
As are you.
I've loved this film since I was a kid thanks for uploading this nickflix your the best👍👍👍👍👍
Speaking of robots: please watch "Short Circuit" from 1986!
YES!!! I’m so excited! I had forgotten about this movie until my little cousin I was nannying found the DVD and wanted to watch it. He then fell in love and thought it was the funniest thing ever, so I have really good memories associated with this movie 🖤
Today is Mel Brooks 96th birthday! Very apt timing.
Hell yeah! Thanks for doing this one fam!
This movie is criminally underrated!!!
I hope you liked it, Nick
I can’t tell if I actually really love this movie and just forgot how great it is, or if I just like it so much more because of this guys reactions haha.
I’ve not seen Robots in a very long time. I’m gonna have to rewatch it again!
I love this movie & I love your reactions. They make me so happy
Don’t know if it’s mentioned or if anyone commented it, so sorry if I missed it😅 but rodney is played by ewan mcgregor, he’s obi wan in all the Star Wars prequels :) his American accent is pretty decent 🤗
I have been waiting for a long and long time for this movie.
Such an amazing underrated film! It’s really a shame I never got a sequel; I think the sequel could’ve focused maybe on Rodney being the new CEO and facing off Ratchet again. 🤖
This movie here is one of the most political movies of the early 2 thousands when it comes to children's animation. It also had some of the best humor
R.I.P. Robin Williams!
My favourite character is Fender. Because c'mon, he's funny and chatterbox and c'mon he's voiced by Robin Williams.
I watched a few to many YTPs about this film and I always wondered what the unedited version of it looked like but now I see what it looks like
"Hit me baby one more time" is the funniest part of the movie, no argument needed
Unknown fact, the guy who voices Madame gasket in this plays professor sughorne in Harry Potter
Ewan McGregor aka Obi-Wan Kenobi is the voice for rodney in this movie.
Flushed away Dreamworks
The last battle was def a blue print for the last battle in Avengers Endgame 😂
46:14 I remember seeing that in theaters and all the kids were laughing at that
I cannot think of the Chop Shop in Robots without thinking of the song "The Chop Shop" by Twisted Insane.
45:27 this was Endgame before Endgame was a thing 😂😂😂😂
wow. i havent seen this in 17 years. - it remains to be one of those timeless classics

Hey, Nick ! In fact, the room after Piper's room is supposed to be the toilets 🤭
The part where big weld is loopy/looney٫ that my friend is a concussion 😅😅😅
Hello Nick! I'm glad you saw Robots. That is without a doubt one of my favorite movies. It is very entertaining and without a doubt the one who has all the fun is Robin Williams and he always makes me laugh with the Britney Spears song scene from "Hit me baby one more time". I recommend you watch Rio (2011), that one is also very entertaining. Take good care Nick and I look forward to your next reaction.
Man, I loved this movie as a kid. My dad and I’s favorite joke was “I call it *j u n k”*
In the french version, Fender says " It's a mix between the blues and the rock. So I call it beurk "
@@a.g.demada5263 XD
I was supposed to catch up with the Monsters, Inc. videos, but then I saw this in my notifications. Guess I'll have fun with this one first!
Edit: I forgot how much I stanned Fender & Lorette as a kid! 🤣 Also Mr. Copperbottom is the GOAT! Best parenting skills ever! 👍
