I am sorry to hear this happened to you. I know how you feel when someone else or something happens to set you back. It's hard to just move past those things because then you think what could I have done to prevent it, but we all learn from our setbacks. I always think that it could have been worse and that someone else is going through worse than me. I am in Kansas City too, I am excited to visit your store and hopefully meet you in person. Keep your head up. A setback is only a push forward. Keep doing what you are doing, you are an inspiration. I have learned a lot from watching your videos and I can't wait until my journey begins.
Wow I’m so sorry you had this experience. I’m not good at not dwelling either and it’s definitely easier said than done. Good on you for being prepared though with correct insurance & knowing what you had. Any of us could be in the same situation someday so that info is valuable. Your store is absolutely gorgeous! Damn so sorry this happened, the feeling of violation can be overwhelming, I know from experience of having my house broken into, they even decided to make themselves a sandwich, it was someone who was just keeping an eye on everyone in the neighborhood about 7 of us got robbed in 1 day😔 I hope they get caught and all of your equipment can be returned to you un damaged. On the upside your store looks beautiful !! Just worry about what you have to do & we’ll be here waiting for you , I know it’s a lot to process

Acknowledging that I am watching this a few months after it's been posted. What a bummer - so sorry about this! Thanks for sharing what happened, what you did and learnings from it. One additional thought for this type of situation - understanding how tough it is to lose footage for content creators - it's good to consider your digital back-up strategy & habits (e.g., auto-upload to iCloud, OneDrive or any number of cloud services).

That happened to a friend recently- he was on a business trip as well and went to leave to go home and his vehicle was gone - with lots of business equipment with it.

I use Indie Business too and have since day 1. Amzing customer service always! Take photos of your stuff in your studio. Your inventory, your melters.. keep track of inventory on paper, thumbdrives..and keep in a safe place!

I'm so sorry! What a violating feeling to have been robbed. I was a wedding photographer for 10 years and this was my biggest worry on shoot days. Thank goodness for insurance but I know there is nothing that can recover the content that was lost. Or that feeling of insecurity. Wishing a speedy turn around on your insurance claim!

That's terrible, sorry to hear that happened to you. I had some gear stolen our of my vehicle a while back and the worst part was the feeling of being violated and insecurity that came from it. Hopefully the insurance will at least cover the majority of the equipment.

OMG! Very sorry this happened to you. Very happy that you weren't physically harmed. Who knows what outcome could have been if you walked up on them/person during the robbery, ya know.
