The difference between Seasons 1/2 and 3 of España is that the main director and some of the production staff went over to film Drag Race Mexico, and you can really tell from the huge change in the judging and the dynamics in general. I honestly don't even think Supremme is the most to blame for the favoritism and riggory. It felt like the Javis in particular had a hard-on for certain queens (Pitita, Pink Chadora, Kelly Roller) and an absolute hate boner for others (Clover, Hornella, Bestiah).
Agree with eveything except I'd switch Bestiah with Pakita. Bestiah was given that talent show win when it wasn't that good tbh, and on the other hand Pakita was overlooked in every challenge just to be sent home in a double sashay with no wins.

UK3 probably felt less extravagant because these Queens were coming out of the pandemic and a lot of these queens would have come in with a much smaller budget.
I went to high school with Gabriella Labucci from Down Under. The town she is from doesn't have a huge drag scene so I think her looks will be slightly cheap/cheap looking but the passion will be there!
When I saw Clover’s track record on the wiki I was like “well not every AFAB queen can do well.” Like not every trans person is going to do well or not every black queen is going to do well. Then to find out it was because they dumped on her and didn’t give her a chance… 😒
Yeah. Clover could’ve easily gotten to the finale with two wins and one less bottom placement. Literally, she got told one episode that she should be in the bottom because she did perfectly fine but she didn’t meet her potential. Meanwhile, a couple of other queens had done significantly worse.
I mean you can’t help but be suspicious when an episode goes best team will win the challenge she’s part of the best team but then they only give the win to pitita. They hated clover
For the Bendela self elimination episode… I always thought that the lipsync should have been the best of eliminated queens vs. the worst of the ones competing, and the one who wins stays. It would have been Aja vs Kennedy which would have been epic.. and would have been a lipsync for your legacy and your life at the same time

Personally I will never get how people actually think Fierce should've won. Maybe make top 2 over Jada, because of a better track record, but Giselle was the clear winner for me. Fierce's arc was good TV and entertaining, but I never saw her as winner material personally.
One of my issues with Drag Race UK is that the winners seem to be picked right at episode 1 and then production does everything to justify their wins. Vivian, Lawrence, and Crystal win the first challenge and then win the season (Danny Beard breaks this). I’m one of the people who really wanted a Bimini win 😭. Also the fact that there is no prize money but they are expected to “bring it.” 🤷🏼 Love the video ❤ I’m currently watching down under season 2 (after the train wreck that was down under 1) and I’m thinking I’ll give season three a watch 😆

I think Canada's Drag Race is getting a bad rep for no reason. I remember watching it and it was one of the most entertaining seasons of all Drag Race franchises. I remember laughing this hard at what they were doing only on season 5 of regular Drag Race. Yeah, Miss Fircalicious not being able to lipsync in the finally was a bumer, but I think Gisèle Lullaby is a great winner. Drag Race Canada is my favourite Drag Race Franchise now.

Sure, Giselle Lullaby was given no story arc by the editors/producers, but the other contestants were always looking to her for help, or to pair up with her first for any challenge that required them to do so. From that, I gathered the contestants understood Giselle's talents, and there had to be more to her. Production on every Canada season has been pretty strange compared to other DR franchises.
I feel like all stars 3 jury is a great flip. If they could hone it better so the queens don't know what they are voting on, it would of been perfect. Maybe let them think they are voting on most congenial and then crown them. I have heard so many all stars 3 girls say, they just really didn't like shangela. That was the name of the game but they didn't know this. Having the grace in competition but instead most felt she was ruthless and feared her cut throat way of playing. Now idk if we really saw this but numerous girls said this. Which clearly outside of competition she is not as much this way. I think it could create an interesting variant every so often in drag race, especially all stars. This is where Trixie and Kennedy were those calm competitors that I feel like more fight for themselves instead of against the other girls.
To me, UK season 3 is the best UK season! The challenges (including mini-challenges) were actually really fun and the cast was amazing. I dare you all to rewatch it, it's really good
Espana season 2 had a lot of favoritism towards Estrela and Sharonne, but it didnt matter much because Sharonne would win anyway regardless of favoritism. (Supremme even had already filmed a series with both of them before the season aired) But on Season 3, even thou I think Pitita could have won without favoritism, it would be a very close top 2 with Clover, but Pitita being favored while Clover is put down is aweful to watch, and seing they elevate people who didnt even wanted to be there, makes it worse.
Well, let’s see if DU3 continues the curse! I mean, likely yes because it’s DRDU, and the POC queens are sure to get shit on like they do every season of DU, but who knows.
Between having to film AS2 late (due to COVID19), and UK vs the World season 1, they barely had time to make any kind of challenges for UK3. Therefore, they just used scrapped challenges from the US version. That's also why so many of the challenges doesn't have any kind of UK feel to them. Draglexa? Dragaton? Drag Wars? All very American shit. Even in the mini challenges, they made references to "Dancing with the Stars", instead of "Strictly Come Dancing". Everything was just too rushed to come together.
I think in DRESPAÑA s3 a big problem had been the way episodes were scripted. Seems they tried to make an over the top and surprising season, like a double eliminaton episode. Which seems great on paper. But the way the events developed trough the episode didn't fit the script at all. Sending two fan favs to home on the same episode. The 'repesca' episode also tried to be gagging and good om script. Top of the eliminated queens vs Bottom of the remaining ones lypsinc. Supposed to be gaggy and exciting. But the results... Better two lypsincs. One for the two bottom quuens remaining and another for the two ones to fight for coming back. This is a better way to script this episode imo. The production wanted a s3 better thsn than the previous ones, and the pushed to hard on very rigged scripts for the episodes. Not thinking that much about the queens but about having shocking episodes. Big mistake. I also rhink they should have one or two "comodin episodes" already planned. And make use of them in case they need it, depending how the events are developing on the season. It's easy to do. For example making a selfmade looks with whatever elements. You don't need the queens to bring "extra runways", and the challenge is the runway indeed.
The show is facing the main series though this seasons gonna be great, season 1 was bad for both, season 2 was great but a little rough production wise, and season 3 is going to be amazing
I'm tired of the AS3 Shangella bull. I agree the jury wasn't a good idea, but do we want a winner where the majority of the cast doesn't like them? Shangella lost due to her own game playing. Maybe she should of stopped playing Game of Thrones and wasn't a total prop queen. And she would of been in the bottom more if she wasn't Ru's favorite. The right person won. Get over it.

I didn't even finish Espana S3. It was just so boring and messy, I hated it, which makes me sad because the first two seasons were stellar.

Sure, Giselle Lullaby was given no story arc by the editors/producers, but the other contestants were always looking to her for help, or to pair up with her first for any challenge that required them to do so. From that, I gathered the contestants understood Giselle's talents, and there had to be more to her. Production on every Canada season has been pretty strange compared to other DR franchises.

I feel like all stars 3 jury is a great flip. If they could hone it better so the queens don't know what they are voting on, it would of been perfect. Maybe let them think they are voting on most congenial and then crown them. I have heard so many all stars 3 girls say, they just really didn't like shangela. That was the name of the game but they didn't know this. Having the grace in competition but instead most felt she was ruthless and feared her cut throat way of playing. Now idk if we really saw this but numerous girls said this. Which clearly outside of competition she is not as much this way. I think it could create an interesting variant every so often in drag race, especially all stars. This is where Trixie and Kennedy were those calm competitors that I feel like more fight for themselves instead of against the other girls.
The reason why Down Under 3’s promo is Pirate themed is because that’s where the British would send their criminals.
I really hope not, but it definitely gave colonial vibes. If it is then it’s pretty bloody insensitive.

The Werk room and main stage for DU will be the same as seasons 1 and 2. We won’t get a bigger set unless they move production to Australia.
Espana season 2 had a lot of favoritism towards Estrela and Sharonne, but it didnt matter much because Sharonne would win anyway regardless of favoritism. (Supremme even had already filmed a series with both of them before the season aired)
But on Season 3, even thou I think Pitita could have won without favoritism, it would be a very close top 2 with Clover, but Pitita being favored while Clover is put down is aweful to watch, and seing they elevate people who didnt even wanted to be there, makes it worse.

Between having to film AS2 late (due to COVID19), and UK vs the World season 1, they barely had time to make any kind of challenges for UK3. Therefore, they just used scrapped challenges from the US version. That's also why so many of the challenges doesn't have any kind of UK feel to them. Draglexa? Dragaton? Drag Wars? All very American shit. Even in the mini challenges, they made references to "Dancing with the Stars", instead of "Strictly Come Dancing". Everything was just too rushed to come together.

I think in DRESPAÑA s3 a big problem had been the way episodes were scripted.
Seems they tried to make an over the top and surprising season, like a double eliminaton episode.
Which seems great on paper. But the way the events developed trough the episode didn't fit the script at all.
Sending two fan favs to home on the same episode.
The 'repesca' episode also tried to be gagging and good om script.
Top of the eliminated queens vs Bottom of the remaining ones lypsinc. Supposed to be gaggy and exciting.
But the results...
Better two lypsincs. One for the two bottom quuens remaining and another for the two ones to fight for coming back. This is a better way to script this episode imo.
The production wanted a s3 better thsn than the previous ones, and the pushed to hard on very rigged scripts for the episodes.
Not thinking that much about the queens but about having shocking episodes.
Big mistake.
I also rhink they should have one or two "comodin episodes" already planned. And make use of them in case they need it, depending how the events are developing on the season.
It's easy to do. For example making a selfmade looks with whatever elements.
You don't need the queens to bring "extra runways", and the challenge is the runway indeed.

I'm tired of the AS3 Shangella bull. I agree the jury wasn't a good idea, but do we want a winner where the majority of the cast doesn't like them? Shangella lost due to her own game playing. Maybe she should of stopped playing Game of Thrones and wasn't a total prop queen. And she would of been in the bottom more if she wasn't Ru's favorite. The right person won. Get over it.
