I think Carson is the best permanent judge on DR US because whenever he is critiquing a look, I always learn something new about tailoring, styling and technical knowledge - actual good points for the contestant to improve. But I totally agree that Nicole Byer was a great guest judge, and I would also add Jeff Goldblum because not only did he give great criticism but also clearly cared for the queens and actually engaged into the art.
And society needs more Jeff Goldblum in general.
JEFF GOLDBLUM STANS RISE UP!
It’s crazy how I agree with Canada season 1 being the worst but at the same time I’m still praying we get Stacey McKenzie back for season 3 because she seemed to care the most for the girls and her reactions to the lipsyncs? She lived her best life at all times.
Also I’m pretty sure she wasn’t on season 2 due to Covid related issues so there’s a decent chance she’ll return.
She was busy with other stuff
Yea. She and Brooklyn were together on promotion and stuff too, but covid got her. Brooke said she was open for Stacey returning too, so let's hope
Hopefully!!! Stacey is the best and is so gorgeous and has such incredible style
I love Stacey, hope we get her back for season 3! She just seemed to really care for the girls which was honestly what we needed to see in that first season!
Apparently one of the reasons she was not on season 2 is because she is not vaccinated. As a Canadian, I can attest that we are very strick here with the vaccine passports and shit.
Mera not remembering her intro is a mood.
I dislike Michelle Visage in Down under as well as UK. She didn’t understand the local culture and reference well enough and yet insisted on pushing her own point. That’s disrespectful to the host countries. At least Rupaul will admit he doesn’t understand certain things.
To this day I’m still wondering where Michelle didn’t see David Bowie when she was critiquing Joe Black….
Only critique with UK judging is graham misses a lot, I’ll never forget him asking if Ellie’s seagull look was drag….. like yes it is drag…
I agree he's critical for the sake of it sometimes...not always constructive
shout out to boulet brothers for also being one of the best judging panels
I would have put Down Under lower. (Granted I haven't watched all international seasons) but Michelle and Ru just were not getting the references and making (imo) questionable choices. Reese was amazing and wasn't afraid to be like "no, you are wrong, this was amazing" but it felt like he was ignored by Ru the whole time.
Completely agree. Neither Ru nor Michelle got any of the references. This is why DRDU should have had an Aussie Queen as a judge. Or even heading the panel. I would argue that DRUK also suffers from a similar problem. Michelle gets a lot of the references, but Ru just doesn't. We have a very different type of drag in the UK. It's different again down under.
Totally, and there were so many questionable decisions and biases. It showed us that Ru and Michelle are not infallible. Honestly, I’d be fine with Ru retiring as I don’t feel she adds a lot to the show anymore. She rarely offers any significant critiques, and she just loves to draw out the trauma and ‘inner saboteur’ crap that frankly gets a little tedious. Not saying the queens haven’t gone through a lot, but some of the storylines feel quite forced, so unless it’s a genuine moment where the topic comes up because they are ‘going through it’ at the time, I’d be fine if the queens didn’t confess to every issue, illness, heartbreak and challenge they’ve ever faced.
Rhys was easily one on the most enjoyable parts of Down Under. They at least got his casting right
We all need Leslie Jones as a permanent judge for the humor.
When Widow Von Du came out on the runway season12 Leslie" She done already done had horses" lmao
RIP 💔😔
I think Rhys was great on Down Under, but it's a franchise I think would actually benefit from Ru and Michelle not being there.
They work for US (obviously) and even UK because they must have absorbed a lot culturally (and Michelle likes to pretend she's English anyway) but I don't think they know an awful lot about Australian/New Zealand culture and even less about their drag/queer scene. Having an entirely new panel ala Canada's Drag Race I think would've been the optimal situation. Plus now we have Ru and Michelle on 4 panels a year (soon to be 5 with UK vs the World) and I think that means sometimes the filming gets rushed, their comments get stale, etc.
I think the franchise would benefit as a whole if they stepped down from Down Under (pun unintended) and hand the reigns to someone else.
Agreed. Down Under could be judged by Courtney Act, Rhys Nicholsen and a fashion designer like Karen Walker who also gets to represent New Zealand that way.
@@akumayoxiruma sadly, Courtney will never do it. Ru and Courtney's history precludes that. She would be great. Also, she doesn't need DR.
I love Rhys so much
I'd take them off of UK too honestly, I'm SURE there's someone British who can take over. I'm just really tired of Michelle pretending to be British.
I do agree. I actually do prefer when international franchises have local hosts and judges. They can be a guest judge, like Michelle on Canada, but not the main judges/host
Mera forgetting her mangled morning entrance gave me anxiety 😭
Not Mera being confused on her intros. You didn’t have your coffee enema it’s OK 😂
I think Gok Wan would be a great addition to the UK panel for the fashion / runway challenges ... and oh my goodness, Thailand was just amazing
I came here to say the same! I'd swap Gok for Graham.
@@squigglethepiglol yup, it's a fabulous suggestion :)
My 9 year old daughter said Scarlet is very lucky to have a friend that's a drag queen 😁. She was most surprised when I mentioned Scarlet is also a drag queen
I feel Alan is everything Ross is supposed to be, I don't think I have ever laughed with Ross, Carson is just a sweetheart, and gives good advice to the queens, Rhys is also hilarios and gave good critics, hopefully he will be back for season 2.
Ross' "Jokes" are always Corny AF to the point where it sometimes becomes Cringe like he's trying too hard. Alan is Top Tier League Funny when compared to the others.
España has already filmed! They keep dropping teaser trailers saying “coming soon”, so I feel like it’ll be sooner than May, considering we’ve seen nothing from Thailand or Philippines yet.
The MTQ is febr. 20th, so it'll probably air within a month of that
@@sedderaside yeah, I was gonna say probably right after UKVTW ends!
Thailand hasn't even casted yet so i'd be surprised if we had seen anything new but Philippines has already filmed as far as I'm aware
Mera has been posting non stop and I’m living
I totally agree on what you said about Fred. I like that he seems very warm and approachable, but some of the judging decisions were "choices".
As an italian I agree with most of what you said regarding the DRI judging panel HOWEVER Chiara Francini is a legend and she is the moment, now come on now. She was the most down to earth with the queens and you could even see they liked her the best
Absolutely agree!!
In regards to your comment about a fashion expert on the panel for Drag Race UK we have so many options: Gok Wan, Alexa Chung, Tan France etc
But for me, if you want someone who appreciates drag and is excited about it, Jade Thirwall from Little Mix, who has appeared a couple of times, could be a great judge to comment on fashion and singing.
Gok would be INCREDIBLE imo. If you've ever seen him on SYTTD you'll know he has such a heart and wonderful soul, as well as being an incredible designer and stylist.
Vivianne Westwood… Paul Smith… there are legendary Brit designers they could pick
Canada 2 was my absolute favourite panel of judges - just such a joyous season with like no obvious riggory
Don't know how a panel containing Ross Matthews can be number 1
Who's Ross Matthews?? Oh do you mean Funny Man Ross Matthews?
@@MylingCyrus sorry the "hilarious" Ross Matthews
I can't think of a good criticism that Ross has made in the last few seasons, he just kinda states the obvious... plus his style is bad and his humor is dated. I feel like they should replace him with someone younger if they're going to keep casting queens in their 20s
Petition to replace him with Nicole? Carson can stay.
Canada season 2 judging lacked something memorable for me. It was okay, but i don't understand the need of amanda and traci, i like traci and she looks great everytime, i also think she was the better out of them, but i just think they need to have more iconic canadian queens or celebs on the judging panel, somebody who'd be the comic relief or impresses with some memorable wit and advice.
I liked CD2 judging panel but it was a bit awkward still. I loooove Espana judging panel Supremme and the Javiers were great
Espana was so much better than canada season 2. Canada judging still feels slightly amateur to me.
I really like Supremme as a host, she's so caring. However, sometimes sounded a bit "forced" when introducing the challenges, but she'll get better with practice. I also like Ana and her fashion knowledge. She also seems to truly have bonded with the Queens and often You see them hanging out together.
My favourite Judging Panel is Canada season 2. They had such a great chemistry and I'm so happy You've mentioned it :D GO CANADA!
I will forever love Nicole Byer I hope we get to see a lot more of here on Drag Race. Lonnie is great too super funny lol
I think Michelle on Down Under had her hand forced by production a lot and wasn’t always giving her real thoughts. Production was so rigid on who they wanted and who they didn’t on down under.
stacey on season 1 of Canada's drag race was the best out of the 3 in my opinion, she actually gave some of the girls some great advices and she just wasnt there for season 2 mainly cause of covid, soooooo
I may be biased but Supremme DeLuxe is my favourite host ever. I simply love how emotional, investigated and refreshing she is. Also her judging feels honest and authentic and you can tell that she wants to be there because the wants to be there and not because it is a job/duty. Sometimes - and recently a lot more visible - Ru sees it as a job for which he's paid for and not for the love of drag and the honesty to judge authentically and mostly for shocking value.
My favourite overall judging panel is a tie between DragRace Espana, RuPauls Drag Race S7-S14 and Canada S2.
I agree 100%, Supremme literally is the judging Supreme. lol DR Espana season 1 really was a beautiful journey, so funny and so heartwarming to watch and a great winner too.
@@InternetWAPx i kinda get emotional talking about her. she‘s just everything. 🙏🏼♥️
Have The Vivienne or Divina rotate as a judge in UK :D
Divina would be fantastic. My favourite UK queen (comes from my home town, so I'm a bit biased). But so accomplished. Years and years of producing drag shows, fab aesthetic, and is really a part of the drag scene.
I love Brit comics, Graham and Alan truly enhance the show!!
Graham is Irish but I get what you're saying.
For me, I loved Stacey from Canada's Drag Race. Her reactions at times were incredible (see Kiara vs Priyanka lipsync).
The person who really dragged down the first season was Jeffrey. It was like he was trying hard to be RuPaul, but he came off incredibly inauthentic.
On a side note, I Love Alan Carr and I hope and pray Aleesha Dixon comes back as a permanent judge!
YESSS THANKS! I just finished my math exam, thank u for the treat ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’m an American who lives in Australia. Rhys Nicholson was the best part of DUs1. You discuss the need for knowledge of pop culture references. Sadly, Ru and Michelle didn’t get Aussie humor and know many Aussie pop references. But, I do understand that they are making a show for the world to watch. So, the queens need to be able to highlight their Aussie & Kiwi selves without losing American audiences.
Lucky you living there......Im looking to get the F out depending on how 22-24 go....maybe to Ireland - I dont wanna live out my last 20-25yrs on this Rock in a RACIST, HATEFUL Republican Dystopian HELLSCAPE!
I have to say I loved the judges of Canada’s Drag Race season 1 until they actually started judging. I liked JBC every other time he was on drag race and I’ll always love and miss Stacey Mackenzie.
Same. I actually think Jeffrey sometimes gave constructive feedback in the werkroom, It was on the main stage when he did not make sense
I had a feeling Brad would be a good addition to Canada's Drag Race. I loved him when he was on Fashion Police with Joan Rivers.
Totally. Love Brad
I’m so proud of Drag Race Italia for doing the 180 that they did. Season 2 was AMAZING!
I feel that Dragula would be a top in this list. The Boulet Brothers are always kind and respectful towards different kinds of drag. They always emphasize that they don't criticize someone's drag, but only care if their drag completed the assignment. I feel this is an important statement because I feel that Ru sometimes criticizes or even ridicules the queens in a mean way, but I think Ru made some progress in giving actual feedback lately.
Mera not remembering her intro is the cutest thing ever lol
I really think Michelle and Ru should not host international seasons. Well, I guess UK is fine because they are more well-versed in UK culture, but on Down Under it really showed that they didn't know squat about Australia/NZ drag and culture. Thank God Rhys was there.
“Tommiso” will always make giggle, idk why😂
Not you still calling Tomasso "Tomisso" 😂
The cast of España season 2 will be announced on the 20th of feb!
Omg! Every time they call him Tomiso 😂😂😂
Love Ross on US, but he would be the one I'd replace. Nicole, Loni, Ts and Leslie Jones can take turns on seasons to look out for the comedy aspect of things. They're all amazing!
When u say "another episode of Wait what" i thought of Kimora and Derrick lolllll
i feel like ITALIA judging pannel was worse than the Canadas S1
nothing beats Down Under.
@@RazvanMihai88 But it does.. ITalia..
THE FACT THAT MERA HAD TO WATCH ONE OF HER VIDEOS TO REMEMBER WHAT WAS HER INTRO JAJZKAJDJSJDJ I LOVE YOU
Ornacia was and still is the best judge
not “Tammiso” 😂 its Tommaso
Hello, Mera and Scarlett! Thank you very much for sharing this and all the videos! This is one of my favorites YT channels! I was wondering if you could do a video about the top 'rigga morris' moments, set by producers or the show. For example: when they requested the queens to vote who was going to the final on AS3. Best wishes!
Mera, I would love a tour of your drag closet. I am always blown away by how much costuming you have. I'd love to see how you organize and store it.
Envy Peru should host holland, Fred is so bad at judging it’s her fault if Holland seasons are bad
💯💯💯
You guys should do a ranking of the werkroom asthatic and design through out all the franchise….thanksss
I just noticed that the judges promo shoot for Italia s1 and Canada s1 is almost identical in poses.
I love drag race espanas judges they just seem so genuine and i love them during the lipsyncs
I would LOVE to see Merle and Santino reappear now and then at the panel in the current seasons
Absolutely not, they have nothing to do with drag and santino is a antivaxer
@@beandrag9019 Santino being an antivaxxer isnt as bad as his offer stuff lmao
I’ve been watching you since the very beginning!!! Y’all are my complete mood!
You two are incredible! Just a small pronunciation note "Tomasso" is pronounced "Tom-ah-so" not "Tom-ee-so" - apologies if I missed that this is a bit you're doing, but it's very much not pronounced "Tom-ee-so". Thank you for all you do (And hope to see either or both of you on Drag Race before we hit the '20s)
I would love to see another perspective on UK Drag Race, I would also love for previous competitors to rotate in on occasion. But then I want that with every franchise. 😂
I will say España always had amazing guest judges. I was never disappointed in the judging of España
DragRace Thailand hosts amazing with feedback and their style of looks! Loved finale format too. I really wish there were more than 2 seasons.
Drag Race Thailand judges are #1 in my eyes.
_“MUSIC!”_
i think you got it right all the way . The Javiers did seem to get better as judges as the competition progressed. I loved the judging styles of Brad, Rhys, Stacey and Tommaso. I don't think Todrick's personality allows him to be very critical, but I do love seeing him turn up on Drag Race.
Mera!!! The rate at which you put out this content I'm just like * fainting like Vaness Hudgeons doing the most*
I'd agree with everything if you put both DR UK and DR US 7-14 below DR España because the judging is either inconsistent (especially from Ru and Michelle), cringy (especially from Ross) and most queens have stated that Ru is quite intimidating and has the "Don't talk to me unless I talk to you!" energy which none of the other judges carry. It also doesn't help that she recently has a lot of on-drugs moments which are confusing both to the contestants and the audience. The judges on DR España and Thailand are more genuine, engaging and actually show a lot of appreciation for the queens because they cheer them on during lipsyncs, applaud more and ask them on their well-being more often instead of waiting for contestants to bring a dramatic trauma story which then gets a major storyline like on DR US.
Another aspect is the cringy puns and sex jokes on DR US and UK which are really not that funny most of time - especially from "the hilarious" Ross Matthews.
my only real critique of S2 of Canada is the Judges felt like they were using Tv/Announcer voices, instead of actually speaking to the queens. Tracey and Brad seemed especially notable for this.
ross being the comedian but carson being the funniest😭😭
Again, with more original content. Favorite drag race channel.
Isn’t tommazo zorzi very controversial with homophobic and transphobic comments?
That's what thought too
@@ito3192 so I don’t think he should be mentioned as the one who pushes Italia in the placement they got.
Tomiso? Gurrrl, TOMMASO with an "A"!!!
this is such a good video idea I can't believe you hadn't done it sooner
Carson and Brad have been the best judging additions after Michelle. They bring fashion knowledge and critique but still make it helpful and encouraging, even when it’s negative. I love Michelle but honestly I don’t think she and Ru should be on any season other than the US. They don’t understand what makes drag in the other countries unique so their critiques are very much based on American Drag, imho.
Canada season 1 had the best and most known judges. I had no idea who any of the Canadians were this year and I'm Canadian lol
*as Janet* "break it up, give it to me,"
*as LaGanja* "C'MON, MERA!"
honestly i really would love another drag queen on the US seasons as part of the permanent rotation along with Carson and Ross. obviously at this point everyone on the panel has a lot of drag knowledge, but i'd just appreciate there being another queen up there regularly, and a queen who doe a different style of drag than Ru.
I still don’t know what Ross adds to the panel
can we get another on of these in about a year. It will be fun to see phillipines, asia espana, france, belguique
Cool video idea - Queens who were in the bottom (up for elimination) one week and win the challenge next week (Bottom to Top)
You're gonna do an updated version of this ranking, right? With all those new franchises you have to (you dont but would be so fun!!! As a brazilian, I get very excited everytime DR Brazil us mentioned)
Great video to watch on my lunch break 😍 couldn't agree more on the bottom bunch of judges. Quick question, what is that yellow badge on Mera!? I can't stop looking at it 😅
I haven't even watched the episode but Santino was the WORST judge and I am struggling through the first seasons' judging
As bad as Santino was, JBC and his eyeshadow choices was the absolute damn worst ever.
Ooooo I like your outfit today Mera. Very Janet Jackson nasty boys vid
IMO if I had to put together a panel.
Nicole bryer for the comedy Brad/Carson for the fashion. I personally like brad more but I can respect Carson’s critiques.
Stacy McKenzie for the heart.
And then Michelle/ru but like only cause at this point they would have to be there.
Brooklyn new season,new looks,new face 😳
the thing with graham is there has been a few times where he’s like “is this even drag” which makes me question that
Stacey McKenzie single handedly carried Canada season 1's judging panel with her passion for the lipsyncs. That alone puts it above Down Under.
España's Season 2 Meet the Queens it's Feb 20th so they've filmed already!
Send you both a hug from Spain ♡
Nicole needs to replace Ross Matthews.
Nikkie Plessen was pretty bad host. She might have been a friend of Fred but clearly didn't know much about drag nor did she seemed to care. I also feel her lack of knowledge hindered some queens place in the competition like ChelseaBoy. Very glad they replaced her.
Side Note: I wish they would make NikkieTutorials a permeant judge.
Love this Janet Jackson inspired look!
I almost want to be a Mangled member to be another Tim B, simply to make things difficult.
I personally don't agree abt the comments regarding Marieke from Holland 2, bcs to me, it really felt like she was very biased towards the girls that she could imagine hosting her festival, which I think is a reason as to why Vivaldi stayed, Marieke loved her
This might be a bit controversial, but España is probably my favorite judging panel. They were so supportive and genuinely invested in the contestants, which made it feel fresh and exciting. I agree that maybe they get a little too invested in their favorites, but I think that also comes with being brand new. As much as I love the main US judging panel, you can tell they've been doing it for a while and don't always have that vested interest that the Spanish judges bring. You can also tell they're very knowledgeable. The Javiers are in show biz and led that documentary on La Veneno, Ana Locking is a fashion gal, and Supremme has been a large part of the Spanish drag scene for a good bit now. I'm really excited for season 2 because I think they'll be at their full form.
Also, Rhys deserved a way better season than Down Under. Him and (most of) the queens are the only reasons why I continued to watch that mess of a season.
With the extra judges in Aus and UK, I think Rhys, Graham and Allen are all sorta there because they're local gay icons, more than like, their actual judging. I honestly think Down Under would be a lot better off without Ru and Michelle, and Canada 2 really proved that
The best-est judge of them all is coffee enema RuPaul
Agree with this list, pretty good! However, Alan on DRUK is farrrrr better than Graham. Graham has already stated, after only 2 Welsh queens “there’s no more iconic things left in Wales to show”, and talks down to queens so indirectly, he doesn’t give any great feedback just as Alan, but at least Alan is hilarious and makes great TV. Graham is not good
Edit: Graham asked if Ellie’s seagull was drag (ignoring camp when the UK has severe camp drag roots), Michelle doesn’t get most of the UK references despite “Loving the UK” (she just loves London). Alan truly is the best
Honestly I'd still put Canada Season 2 higher and UK/Current lower. Michelle and RuPaul have, more and more, just felt like mouthpieces for the producers. Alan is great but I don't really get what Graham brings to the table and I find him too harsh a lot of the time.
To your point on UK judges if they replace Alan Carr I’d say perfect fit for the fashion expertise would be Tan France from Queer Eye!
I really wish Michelle replaced Santino instead of Merle on Season 3
UK Graham Norton is my top judge
long live Kinkachu!
For uk I dont think we need either of Alan or Graham, Alan is super funny but i do want someone to provide real feedback, and occasionally Graham will lose his mind and say something uncalled for largely because he knows nothing about drag I imagine
oh how the turns have tabled
