Bumpa said somewhere that the category for the runway was actually just Pride, not rainbow, and she curated a look that paid homage to a lot of the deities of Maori culture, so it was more Maori pride than queer pride.
I may have a more in depth explanation for this, cause of sth Art Simone said at the Kick-Ons. Apparently the "Mardi gras Pride" (which was the performance) and "under the rainbow" were written as 2 separate runway categories in the runway list sent to the queens and no note of one being a performance piece. So it's really possible that this runway was actually Bumpa's choice for "Mardi gras Pride" runway, which turned out to be a performance costume and she saw she couldn't perform in it (cuz hello, super heavy gown) and switched the 2 runways out of necessity. So her "under the rainbow" runway costume became the performance costume and she had to make do with what she had and wore the pride look for the under the rainbow category
As a french viewer, I honestly think that drag race France just delivered the best drag race episode in herstory ! So funny and also so moving at the same time with such a beautiful story and message ! I already found season 1 and 2 to be outstanding but this Rusical... The best ever ! It was filled with jokes and regional accents, it was so well written and moving ! The mini challenge was an hilarious reference to one of my favorite show which is very popular in France, the queens all performed so perfectly during rhe rusical, the runway was incredible and so were the lipsync and lipsync song ! An homerun, I cried and laughed so much at the same, thank you drag race France ! ❤❤❤
I liked Gabriella's verse the most, and loved the way she performed it. One of my favourite lines was about being introduced to 'hundreds and thousands.' That is what 'Spinkles' are called in Australia and New Zealand (and the UK, and Canada and South Africa!)
Hollywould is perhaps one of my least favorite queens that the franchise has ever put out.. looking like THAT and having opinions on someone else??? Get real lmao. Waiting for her to go home

Idk ... They're all very similar archetypes... Like only really Gabriella & Bumpa seem different.... Like they all seem to be "good at fashion but not much else"... So waiting to see some more versatility.
In DRMx, the SG was great, Christian’s character Veronica Castro is an acting Icon who you can see in the first season of La Casa de Las Flores! She is a telenovela goddess, plus she is the mother of singer Christian Castro and they are camp as hell! In DR France it was the best rusical in a while, I cried and didn't want anyone to go! Kehiona is AMAZING
Mexico & France have just been soo entertaining to watch especially the Rusical for France and the queens of Mexico especially Matraka. Season 2 of Down under I loved but I have a bad feeling abt Season 3 bc the premier felt enjoyable for 10% of it and the rest imo was messy but I still have hope

As a person understanding French (hiiii Belgium) the thing with Ginger wasn't like she felt robbed of a win, but the challenge itself was stolen from her because she was the only one that didn't get even her top 4 choices of character. She didn't get a fair shot at it. Not robbed like Jan or TKB

Going from France to Down Under this week was...interesting. I'm not feeling DU but I'll give it a couple of weeks at first. France...wow. This was spectacular. It could have been a non-elimination episode, for me. So happy Keiona finally got her win but it could have gone to anyone I feel like. Bottom two was correct relative to the other queens but neither was "bad". DU, it was a runaway for Hollywould and Flor in second. Everything else about the episode was...difficult to watch. I ended up skipping parts of it. Mexico was very good too, I thought Matraka should have won (taking into account runway and snatch game) but Cristian did very well too. The lip sync was excellent, as you said. I feel like Garo won because Argennis has lip synced so much already, because I couldn't really have called it one way or the other without that. Gabriella reminds me a little if Tia, with how she can make terrible style work for her and joke about it with the judges. The reaction shots of the judges were the best part of thenepisode
I think the runway for France was translated to something like "oversized" couture - not sure how accurate that is but makes sense looking at what the Queens put out
Did everyone forget about Yvies bald cap reveal? I keep seeing this being the “first bald cap wig reveal in herstory” when Yvie fully did it against Raja in AS7
Let's call the spade a spade, Esmeraldwa role was written entirely for Piche. Which both shows how production really plans for which queen to go ahead in the race, but also Piche going home really wasn't sth planned by the production (which doesn't really explain why they sent her home). Weirdly, i think this episode Ginger won the lipsync and not Punani, but they couldn't allow her to go further than she already should have
Down Under had the weirdest premier of any season or franchise. i remember as i was watching it, i thought “DU2 was fun on the first episode, why do i feel upset uncomfortable watching this?”

I thought Down Under was literally awful. Not even just the talent. Well, they all predominantly looked wet behind the ears a bit and unpolished, but I think that we have some interesting characters here. But the effing lighting, camera work, and the editing were so bad that it was hard to even watch. What were those angles that they were filming at during the challenge? Why were there 75,000 cuts in five seconds back-and-forth to RuPaul to the contestant to somebody else and back again. It was crazy. Oh and FYI. $50k AU is like $33k US. CHEAP!
Apparently the queens were told their Mardi Gras looks were gonna be for a runway so not only are they in these massive costumes but there's hardly any room to move around cus it's the smallest stage ever. They were all kinda doomed from the start to me
It was SO ridiculous watching them try to do choreography I was waiting for them to start bumping into each other, knocking one off the stage at a time! Total car crash!

Matraka did Adela Micha who posted a video watching the Snatch Game and said oh she is very good did we win? and the person said no she came in second and Adela asks who did we lose to? and they answered Veronica Castro and Adela responded well if I am going to lose to anyone it would be her.
I don't blame the season 3 queens of Down Under rather I blame Production, this first challenge could've been 100% better if given a bigger stage. Also.. this challenge should've been girl groups rather a group in one due to every verse coming and going so far in a span of a few minutes that you have to go back and really listen
Not even Ginger’s biggest fan but how is this less good than Moon’s lmao the boots elevated the whole look especially compared to Moon’s god i forgot Mami unpolished messy look

DR Down Under is unwatchable.... did they finished the Queens over there?

i'm sorry but the pronunciation of international queens names is starting to get cringe. "ARE JENNIS"????? lmaooo they've said her name so many times on the show, it's pronounced like "arr HEN EEs" it's not hard...
watching all the ads so you can buy a sandwich!!
I have never asked, but why is a dress making a queen look short a bad thing?
France was amazing... But Ginger won that lipsync IMHO
No way
Guuuurls you keep saying Keiona's name wrong, which bugs me a bit, but it's more than normal with foreign queens. I think you can pronunciate it better written like this: kee-yo-nà (with the accent on the final vowel).
On a serious note though..... DR Down Under is unwatchable.... did they finished the Queens over there?

When I saw Gabriella's entrance look, I immediately thought of Katya's ugliest dress in Season 7.
Omg this Mexico episode made me so mad. I like Christian but Matraka should have won episode!!!
