man thats a great comp, interesting picks and such a nice mixture from the 60s and 70s and a great track to finish on, think hes right picking favourite tracks is nearly impossible, what ever the band mine would change daily depending on mood, as ever a great video cheers man
For California Feelin, yes the Beach Boys recorded it. Brian must have forgotten about it after it was recorded as it was shelved. They actually didn't have the MultiTrack after the 1980's as someone stole it along with several other tapes. This is why it hadn't been released or Brian might have stated this too. Brian probably went off that Demo that was released later. It was returned to Mark Linett in 2011 or 2012 with a pile of tapes. Mark talks about it in an interview for Made In California. The tapes included Multitracks for Fun,Fun,Fun, I Get Around, Do It Again, some of the Christmas Album material, Adult Child material, California Feelin and even a 1st gen master for Smiley Smile.
That makes sense. I believe some of those tapes were used for the 50th anniversary stereo remixes and again later for some of the digital albums (i.e. Keep an Eye on Summer-1964 Sessions.) Thanks for the insight!
Busy Doin' Nothing and Til' I Die are both obvious picks for true Beach Boys fans but the world at large doesn't usually notice them. I'm not surprised that BW included them in his short-list of great tunes!
I could see some company executive objecting on the basis that the former is too quirky and the latter is too depressing for inclusion here but they are both definitely products of Brian Wilson's mind and have a worthy place on this set!

Glad you liked it! I'm in the same boat- I can't even keep a consistent 100 favorite Beach Boys songs. It changes every day!

Til I Die. Would'nt It Be Nice. Cool, Cool Water. Time To Get Alone...and on and on
Very surprised he didn't pick Wouldn't It Be Nice (or very much at all from Pet Sounds for that matter.)
