Fascinating Transformation: Oyster Mushrooms to "Jerky"

If you love harvesting wild mushrooms and you wanna try something other than frying them up in butter and oil ( of course i love them that way too) then try this incredibly easy recipe to turn them into the best vegetarian jerky you've ever had! Although i'm using Golden Oysters (Pleurotus citrinopileatus,) for this particular recipe, I've also made them with Maitake (Grifola frondosa) and they are heavenly! I'm sure you can substitute just about any wild edible mushroom following the basic steps that i list in the video. Give this a shot and let me know what you think!

"Can I Eat This?"
Can I Eat This? is a brand new series from accomplished singer-songwriter and avid forager Sean Rowe. In each episode, Rowe is joined by a different musical guest with whom he ventures out into woods, surrounding wetlands, fields and even in and around city and suburban "wild patches" where untamed food abounds. In addition to finding, harvesting, and preparing their haul, Rowe and his guests record a song together. Emphasis is placed on making sure the content is accurate but dialog is loose, humorous, conversational, and real.
Among other wild foods-based programs, which tend to be serious in tone with an emphasis on survivalist themes, Can I Eat This? stands out. Rowe's enthusiasm is infectious and welcoming to anyone who wants to learn more about this increasingly popular pursuit. The series would look right at home on any of the ever-expanding number of streaming services focusing on food, music, travel, the outdoors, and sustainability.
