    And Thus the Legacy began. Without the this Car, there would be no Impreza, or 22b. This is the car that Began Subaru's climb up the Autmotive hierarchy.

    I was around a bunch of Subarus around 1990-1992 in the mountains outside of Denver. The 70s varieties seemed to be bullet proof except for timing belts and rust. The newer ones had yet to be proven but seemed cool, especially turboed ones at that altitude.

      In Italy, the Subaru Legacy of the early 90s sold well, our territory with the Alps and the Apennines and a lot of snow are perfect places for these 4x4s. They have always given me a feeling of excellent solidity. A friend had the first series Forester, and it was an excellent, spaces and unstoppable car, a good middle ground between a station wagon and an off-road vehicle but with the compactness of a car.

      I recall that Legacy's two problematic things were rear diff and rust. The rear diff was made out of cheese and wore out over the time apparrently, and they rusted away. Other than that they were reliable and good cars.

    Something about this engine sounds way better than the wrx and STi 2.0 and 2.5 that came after

    • @Italiansupercarvideo
      @Italiansupercarvideo  Год назад +3

      I've always believed this one sounds better than later engines, even if they are all boxers.

    • @Prodriver33
      @Prodriver33 Год назад

      @@Italiansupercarvideo absolutely 👍. Dissecting the sounds the newer than this Impreza STi had a softer explosion sound on each cylinder and a more cohesive rotation where each individual cylinder firing was more a part of the overall rotation of the engine sound wise. The old legacy you can distinctly hear each piston explosion like they are four different single cylinder dirt bikes firing off unequally in that specific Subaru noise boxer fours make. Each cylinder has a massive explosion compared to the newer ones. Was this based on the street cars 2.2l turbo or was it a 2.0l turbo made for the rally car? Was the series restricted to 2.0l?

    I want one of these cars. Can’t decide if I want it painted the blue one or the white with the pink and green decals

    Der Legacy RS ist hat ja durch Dirt Rally wieder enorm an Popularität gewonnen.
    Hatte auch schon ganz vergessen dass es den Legacy in der Gruppe A überhaupt gab.
    War wie der Citroen BX4 ein Containerschiff auf der Rallystrecke, Riesenteil :D

      Ich habe den Legacy immer geliebt, jeder erinnert sich an den Impreza, aber zuerst war es der Legacy, der das japanische Haus bei Rallyes beliebt machte. Ich denke an den Citroen BX4, ich verstehe ... du hast Recht 😅

    Good old Group A sedan rallycars were quite something, Legacy was always the underdog, but a great car nevertheless.

      You're right, this model has collected too little for the years in which it has raced but let's remember the victory at New Zealand WRC in 1993 driven by Colin McRae.

    • @d-d-i
      @d-d-i 3 года назад

      Yea that NZ '93 win by Colin was good sendoff for the car, and he won it fair and square.

    The car that made the WRX series.
    Shame it didnt have much popularity in car games aside from the Dirt 2.0 and Forza Horizon
    I wanted to drive this virtually if i cant find one in reality.

    初代レガシィはすごいよな

      まさに、私はこのレガシィの最初のシリーズがとても好きです。スバルは優れたラリーカーを製造し、このモータースポーツ分野における素晴らしいキャリアの始まりはインプレッサモデルで最高潮に達しました。👍

    Subaru fährt jetzt schon so lange in der Weltspitze mit. Auch damals konnten sie schon Rallyeautos bauen die mit ihren Boxermotoren mit der Konkurrenz mithalten konnte. Eine weitere Marke aus den fernen Osten ist ja Mitsubishi. Die gefallen mir bald optisch noch besser.

    • @Italiansupercarvideo
      @Italiansupercarvideo  3 года назад

      Du hast absolut recht. Es tut mir sehr leid, dass diese beiden japanischen Marken nicht mehr an der Rallye-Weltmeisterschaft teilnehmen. Dieser Sport ist im Laufe der Jahre sehr verarmt geworden. Mit dem Ausstieg von Citroen in die Hauptklasse gibt es nur drei Hersteller. Es ist schade.

      No problem if you don't want to subscribe; the only reason why I add it is because a subscriber receives an alert every time my channel is uploaded again. There are millions of channels on RUclips, and this is a great way, if you obviously like the videos I make, to remember me and come back to see them when you feel like it.
