And Thus the Legacy began. Without the this Car, there would be no Impreza, or 22b. This is the car that Began Subaru's climb up the Autmotive hierarchy.
I was around a bunch of Subarus around 1990-1992 in the mountains outside of Denver. The 70s varieties seemed to be bullet proof except for timing belts and rust. The newer ones had yet to be proven but seemed cool, especially turboed ones at that altitude.
In Italy, the Subaru Legacy of the early 90s sold well, our territory with the Alps and the Apennines and a lot of snow are perfect places for these 4x4s. They have always given me a feeling of excellent solidity. A friend had the first series Forester, and it was an excellent, spaces and unstoppable car, a good middle ground between a station wagon and an off-road vehicle but with the compactness of a car.
I recall that Legacy's two problematic things were rear diff and rust. The rear diff was made out of cheese and wore out over the time apparrently, and they rusted away. Other than that they were reliable and good cars.
@@Italiansupercarvideo absolutely 👍. Dissecting the sounds the newer than this Impreza STi had a softer explosion sound on each cylinder and a more cohesive rotation where each individual cylinder firing was more a part of the overall rotation of the engine sound wise. The old legacy you can distinctly hear each piston explosion like they are four different single cylinder dirt bikes firing off unequally in that specific Subaru noise boxer fours make. Each cylinder has a massive explosion compared to the newer ones. Was this based on the street cars 2.2l turbo or was it a 2.0l turbo made for the rally car? Was the series restricted to 2.0l?
You're right, this model has collected too little for the years in which it has raced but let's remember the victory at New Zealand WRC in 1993 driven by Colin McRae.
The car that made the WRX series. Shame it didnt have much popularity in car games aside from the Dirt 2.0 and Forza Horizon I wanted to drive this virtually if i cant find one in reality.

Well done! Good action mate 😉👍
Thank you 😉👍
Something about this engine sounds way better than the wrx and STi 2.0 and 2.5 that came after
I've always believed this one sounds better than later engines, even if they are all boxers.

I want one of these cars. Can’t decide if I want it painted the blue one or the white with the pink and green decals
Both liveries are beautiful 👍
@@Italiansupercarvideo My dad got one :)

Nice
Good old Group A sedan rallycars were quite something, Legacy was always the underdog, but a great car nevertheless.

Yea that NZ '93 win by Colin was good sendoff for the car, and he won it fair and square.
@Dirty Deed Indeed Exactly 👍
Underdog .? It was the car that Ford feared when prodrive entered Colin during the RAC rally serria cosworth didn't know what hit it....
Without this car no 22b
