Very cool! Congratulations on the release. I've been waiting for such a program for a long time and immediately bought it. There is a great lack of basic tools, Knife Merge (target weld) Bevel (advanced) and others.
Awesome, thank you for the feedback! Valence is very young so your feedback is very helpful in steering the future features! If you have any examples of target weld or a good knife tool in a dcc lmk! The hardest thing was figuring out how to implement these features for touch and making them intuitive and easy!

Wow, looking great so far, seems very intuitive. Also seems similar to Blender in the UI terminology, outliner, subdivision modifier etc... would love to see an isometric view in the future if it doesn't already have one. Exciting times!
Thank you! I've been debating whether to implement an isometric 3D camera, I have seen it use much during modeling, mainly for rendering. But if there is enough demand or a very compelling use case, I'm happy to try to make it happen!
Been looking for something like this for a while. I bought it, however I don’t think I can take this app seriously unless it has a knife tool of some sort. That’s a very important tool for the poly modeling workflow. I’m going to hold on to see how the app improves before I consider refunding it. If you manage to add a knife tool, it’ll be close to perfect.
The knife / cut tool is the most demanded tool, and its first on the feature list after all the bug fixes for robustness. New features should be rolling in mid may.
Is there a way to add a reference image? There are a lot of requests for functions that would take it beyond being a modeler. But the ability to add reference images would definitely be helpful for the modeling process itself.
VERY nice layout and interface, i wonder do you have any plans on something similar to plasticiy? any chance of making a mixture of polygon and cad? Maybe its a stretch but its worth to ask. Also, a suggestion, make an introducton campaing for 15 dollar during 1 week or a couple of days to expand fast and create a base. Cheers
Thank you! Plasticity is so awesome! Valence 3D is mainly for box / polygon modeling. Free and loose, but with some tools for precision. But fundamentally different and complementary :D. I would focus on the modeling tools and not worry about the rendering. We’re never going to render on our iPad, but it would be nice to have a mobile modeler. For exporting I would focus on glb and USD.

wow!! interesting application, as a blender user, I really appreciate this application. I'm waiting for the next update, hopefully there will be boolean and solidify modifier features
The main thing I want a 3D modeler for is the ability to export a model for painting in Procreate. I think what’s needed is the ability to assign UV Maps with precision. SketchUp doesn’t do it, can Valence?
That's really nice. What you have done with the IU is really good. My biggest problem with Nomad is the messy IU (reminds me of older Blender 2.79). And my problem with Forger is the weak rendering and post processing options. If you can make an app that can join these two worlds, that would be my app of choice.
Thank you 🙂I tried really hard to make the UI clean and intuitive. 3D is hard so hopefully this helps the next generation of 3D lovers. What kind of post processing effects would you like to see!
This is awesome! Would really like to know more about Pivots and Orientations feature (I'm just craving an iPad 3d modelling app that has Workplane feature from Modo hehe)
Thank you!! Currently working on bug fixes/app stability, more modeling tools/features and educational material! UV editing is definitely on the road map for v2 or v3. It’s been requested quite a few times, so I’m keen on figuring that out. But because I’m a company of one, it might take a bit of time 🙏🏽
@@Valence3DOkay, so I finally got ahold of the app, and so far, I’ve made a bowl and a spoon for cereal. But in all seriousness, I’ve found some very good things to talk about in the app, like being able to export the object and import it into Nomad Sculpt, being able to choose where you create slices in your shape, etc.
Just bought it! I’m looking forward to learning polygonal modelling (for the first time, along with Blender) and your progress in developing the app :D
Is there an Android version? Valence 3D is only on iOS. We are working hard to make sure Valence 3D delivers the best polygon modeling experience on iOS before we tackle any other platforms. Will there be an Android version? When Valence 3D is more stable and feature complete, work will begin on an immersive Vision Pro version, then an Android version. Valence 3D roughly took 5 years to develop. We are guessing an Android version could be built in either half or two times the amount of time.
thank you for the app. i hope to see more tutorials and advice in the future. It should be nice that we can modify the vertex and edge display in a future update ( they are really small for my eyes🧐 ), interior face display, clip overlaps miror, align vertex and a solidify modifier like in blender...anyway it s a really nice tool
I just discovered this video from a random RUclips recommendation. I am extremely excited to see a polygon modeling app for iPad. You are doing yeoman's work here! I purchased the app straight and way, and so far, I am very impressed. I am looking forward to seeing where you take it. I don't see any boolean operators yet. Hopefully that is on your roadmap. Great job! Keep up the good work!
Awesome demo. I was planning to buy it but i realized i could not find anything about lightning control. Do need some basic camera/lightning control. Does it ?
Right now Valence 3D is focused on modeling. There are very basic controls for environment lighting and rotation. You can set the camera's field of view and its background.
Hey. Great UI and potential. Do you plan to add solidify, array and boolean modifiers? Do you have plans adding curves or splines with possibility of adding profiles?
Working on robustness and documentation at the moment. The roadmap for v2 includes booleans, solidify, and an array modifier. I'll add extruded profiles / curves to the feature requests.
Thank you! Valence 3D is built from the ground up. It uses all native technologies (C, C++, Swift, Obj-C) to ensure users get the best performance possible.
Hey you ❤ Just bought the app with absolutely no hesitation. After seeing the big gurus here on RUclips and facebook groups, giving it a thumbs up 👍 Looking forward to following The development of the app. Perfect combination with Nomad. I had to update my iPad to 17.0 but luckily it’s still usable.. I would like if you don’t make every future app update be linked to the newest versions of iOS (if that is possible) (maybe just make The updates optional) I have lost my old iPads that ran my favorite programs easy, become useless because a program locked me into updating the OS before it would work😢
I like how it feels like blender. Cool interface. Does it have uv unwrapping tools? Does it have other modifiers like shrinkwrap, displace, mirror, array, bevel etc?

Thank you! Its not Blender, its something new 🙂! Definitely inspired by Blender, and other DCCs, but built from the ground up for iOS and touch based interaction.
Okay, I'm very excited. Looks like an intuitive version of Blender. I also think it's really good that there's no subscription here. If there is a possibility to make a donation from time to time, I personally would definitely leave something every now and then. :)
I’m excited about this, but it’s definitely a bit rough around the edges at the moment. -I can’t seem to get snapping to work at all. Turning snapping on, or using the extra touch has no effect.- Snapping works now after a reboot 👍🏻 Editing a mesh with subdivision and mirror also seems quite buggy. I tried selecting faces at one point and they appeared to be in a completely different location than my model. Also, it doesn’t seem to be possible to select ‘through’ a mesh, i.e. I can’t select the back verts/edges/faces of a model in x-ray mode like I can with Blender. I’d love to be able to preview the effect a loop-cut has on the subdivision while editing - right now it’s only when you commit a change that you can see it. Would be nice to have the option for multiple cuts, too. Some blender-friendly options like z-up would be nice. Huge potential though, so thanks for your hard work! 😃
Thank you for not making it a subscription purchase.

Ok, in my first impressions with the app (since there is no discord channel or forum at the moment) I place here the observations that I think would be interesting to add in a roadmap of relevant updates for polygonal sculpting:

-left-handed interface or possibility of rearranging icons
-redo and undo buttons on the same side
-palm rejection option
-better recognition of 2-finger gestures for undo, it has a strange operation where you have to press it several times to undo a change (maybe its interpreting steps as camera movement or something like that)
-establish order in selection of face, edge or vertex without being able to immediately move it (I found myself moving vertices many times by mistake without meaning to)

This is awesome! Would really like to know more about Pivots and Orientations feature (I'm just craving an iPad 3d modelling app that has Workplane feature from Modo hehe)
nvm just learned there's a manual now, Pivots and Orientations look solid! a Workplane feature would still be nice tho :)
Awesome, glad you found that!
App looks great. Are there functions for UV unwrapping in the current version? If not is that something that is planned?
Thank you!! Currently working on bug fixes/app stability, more modeling tools/features and educational material! UV editing is definitely on the road map for v2 or v3. It’s been requested quite a few times, so I’m keen on figuring that out. But because I’m a company of one, it might take a bit of time 🙏🏽
Pretty sick, hopefully you release for Apple Vision Pro as well
later this year :)
Okay, I may need to get this app so I can review it. Sure I already have Nomad Sculpt, but this looks like it can do basic modeling easier.
Please do!

Thank you for supporting! Check out the user forum and discord for more help!
Cool. So when is the ANDROID version coming?
Is there an Android version?
Valence 3D is only on iOS. We are working hard to make sure Valence 3D delivers the best polygon modeling experience on iOS before we tackle any other platforms.
Will there be an Android version?
When Valence 3D is more stable and feature complete, work will begin on an immersive Vision Pro version, then an Android version. Valence 3D roughly took 5 years to develop. We are guessing an Android version could be built in either half or two times the amount of time.
@@Valence3D I really hope you will be able to release it soon on Android. Many people hate Apple and their over priced and Nurfed products.
nice piece of software and decently priced too... this should shake things up a little :)
thank you for the app. i hope to see more tutorials and advice in the future. It should be nice that we can modify the vertex and edge display in a future update ( they are really small for my eyes🧐 ), interior face display, clip overlaps miror, align vertex and a solidify modifier like in blender...anyway it s a really nice tool
You're very welcome. Thank you for supporting. I've noted your feedback and will factor it into the next design overhaul.
Looking good! Gonna give it a try right now! Can you crease the edges or you need to subdivide?
You can crease them. Select the crease tool in the tool bar (left) and select an edge or face and crease away. (Tap the handle and drag up or down).
Sold. Buying tomorrow. This looks powerful yet simple an intuitive. Great work!
Hey I love what youre doing with this app and would love to get involved and help out anyway I can. Keep up the great work!
Will definitely look into this app. More tutorials, please!
Do you consider adding rigging, animation and camera animation? If yes, then wow! 🤩
I am sure they must be working on it, but I don’t expect this feature to be implemented within the next 3 to 5 years
@@moonishkalicheran3470 lol
Looks cool!Amazing!!
I just bought your app, I am really looking forward to playing with it. And thank you so much for making it a one time purchase.
man the UI .... great work :)
Thank you, working on it on and off for 4 years.
Great app. Purchased straight away and thanks for no forced subscription. Will you be adding Boolean functionality?
Boolean will come later this year!
Another question. Can you add a reference picture and make it semi transparent?
Yes! You can change the images opacity in the inspector!
Does the app have a UV unwrap function? If not will it be available in future updates?
It’s on the roadmap! Hopefully later this year!
@@Valence3D nice. Good luck! Thank you for making this app
Does this support mouse and keyboard on the iPad Pro?
Looks amazing ❤
Amazing how polished the IU is. I love it. There are a few things missing but it is an amazing launch! Is it based on ThreeJS?
Thank you! Valence 3D is built from the ground up. It uses all native technologies (C, C++, Swift, Obj-C) to ensure users get the best performance possible.
@@Valence3D Really, I love it. I have in the 3d world for more than 20 years... Amazing work!
Hey you ❤ Just bought the app with absolutely no hesitation. After seeing the big gurus here on RUclips and facebook groups, giving it a thumbs up 👍
Looking forward to following The development of the app.
Perfect combination with Nomad.
I had to update my iPad to 17.0 but luckily it’s still usable..
I would like if you don’t make every future app update be linked to the newest versions of iOS (if that is possible) (maybe just make The updates optional)
I have lost my old iPads that ran my favorite programs easy, become useless because a program locked me into updating the OS before it would work😢
Thank you for not collecting data. Also is there a discord to follow?
Of course! Discord is coming later this month!
Can I insert photo as reference?
of course! go to the add options and select photo or file and select an image!
can i import an mesh of a 3D scanned object ?
I want to make reverse engendering on my iPad
You can import an OBJ, STL, USD and USDZ.
I like how it feels like blender. Cool interface. Does it have uv unwrapping tools? Does it have other modifiers like shrinkwrap, displace, mirror, array, bevel etc?
Thank you! at the moment, there are no tools for uv unwrapping, etc! At the moment, there are two modifiers, mirror and subdivision.
Very cool! Purchasing immediately 👍Thanks for all your hard work.
Thank you, and thank you for supporting!!🙂
Ok. It's been bought. Definitely looking forward to tutorials.
Is there a roadmap somewhere? just got my license and looking to see some simple but useful functions to land (flatten, etc)
Lmk what flatten does. The roadmap is not public but you can learn more about features and things when the discord is public
Looks amazing !! I wish it was available for android tablets as well. Would have bought it instantly ! with this app and nomad one can create a game ready asset with ease.
Thank you! Took about 4 years to make the iOS version, so hopefully after the bugs and must have features are ironed out, I’ll consider making an android version!
@@Valence3D That's awesome !! Thank you !
@@Valence3D Finally a dev that doesn't start with the usual "unfortunately there are no plans for an Android version for now", I'll buy it as soon as it drops on Android, if GOD wills 😁
Awesome! Very refined modeling app. Is this purely for polygon modeling or hybrid like Fusion 360?
its purely for polygon modeling :)
Por favor saquen pronto la versión para android,me gustaría ver la app en Android,la verdad agradezco que creen más apps así
Yes, but can it work in Procreate?
Working on it...
Understandable. I’ll wait patiently. In the meantime, maybe some of us can play around with it and post. 😎
Amazing app. Waiting for more videos 🔥
Nice video. I am new to modeling so this is nice to see.
Thank you :D Let me know what other content you'd like to see!
@@Valence3DThanks, I am learning modeling for 3d prints. Anything along that line would be super for me.
Great stuff! Buying right now. Thank you for not going down the subscription road. looking forward to play with it!
EDIT: have trouble saving. It's a bit buggy. Is there a discord?
Hey! Thank you for supporting. I'm working on resolving these saving issues ASAP. The app store should have a new update tomorrow 1.0.6 that hopefully will resolve all the saving issues. Please let me know if that works for you. Otherwise, please email: support@hi-rez.io
@@Valence3D Brilliant! Keep up the great work ;)
This looks perfect! I wonder if it's possible to do NPR (Non photorealistic rendering) on it though. I want to create 3D anime-style characters on it and then export it to Blender for animation. Is this possible?
Is that a desk pad?
It’s a cutting matte!
Thanks for the very helpful tutorial. But how do you save your image in the gallery without the mesh ?
Wow thats so cool. How big of a model it can handle?
Thanks! At the moment, not that big. ~10,000 polygons. Working on making it handle millions by 2025.
@@Valence3D that would be awesome to see. Great effort.
Is the default measurement is in mm or inches?
Right now the app assumes meters for everything… this will change in an update coming soon so you can set your units!
@@Valence3D 🙏 thank you
Can you add an8mation like spline tool 😢 it’ll be a game changer
Can you import images as planes?
Yes, you can bring in image references (either from Files or your camera roll).
@@Valence3D Is there a boolean function?
Can you do a tutorial on how to create a lowpoly style humanoid character?
This is AMAZING, I'm speechless 😲
Thank you :DDD
@@Valence3D You're welcome 😁
THANK YOU! This randomly showed up and purchased immediately! as a user of blender and cinema 4d I was able to intuitively find all the tools I need almost instantly! As others said a big THANKS for not making it subscription 🎉
Appreciate it! Thank you for supporting!!🙂
I bought this app last week looks super cool so far! Are you a 1 man team?
Yes I am!
@@Valence3D holy shit dude the app is awesome and I’m really enjoying the UI design it’s super clear and gives a lot of info! How long have you been making this?
It’s close to blender in UI looks…..are we going to see animation feature in the nearest future especially with rigging system? I’m seriously craving for this features on the iPad
@@bean-charlieartz3138 thank you so much! I’ve been working on this for 4 years part time between gigs and freelance jobs!
Is this like Blender on iPad? I really like it.
Thank you! Its not Blender, its something new 🙂! Definitely inspired by Blender, and other DCCs, but built from the ground up for iOS and touch based interaction.
target welding for vertex? fbx export? thx
Soon
Okay, I'm very excited. Looks like an intuitive version of Blender. I also think it's really good that there's no subscription here. If there is a possibility to make a donation from time to time, I personally would definitely leave something every now and then. :)
That would be extremely helpful to ensure Valence 3D lives on.
I’m excited about this, but it’s definitely a bit rough around the edges at the moment.
-I can’t seem to get snapping to work at all. Turning snapping on, or using the extra touch has no effect.- Snapping works now after a reboot 👍🏻
Editing a mesh with subdivision and mirror also seems quite buggy.
Thank you for all the feedback! Definitely will factor this into the new features and bug fixes for April!
